263 My Home

[Johan's POV]

The town of Iba didn't change much. Aside from a few newly erected infrastructures here and there, it was still the same boring town that had a snail-like progress. If it wasn't for the nostalgic memories of his high school life, he wouldn't feel grandfather any emotional attachment to the place.

Dusk had befallen when they reached the village where his grandfather's rest house was located. The reggae music blasting on the jeep's built-in speaker masked out the growing apprehension in his stomach.

Seriously, just how long will he tolerate Russell's playlist?

Johan stared at the stretch of empty rice fields with dead eyes. He felt a sudden itch to go back to Metro Manila. There were plenty of historical landmarks he hadn't explored yet, like the Fort Santiago—the oldest Hispanic stone fortress in the Philippines.
