3 Nova Leiden

Chapter 3: Nova Leiden

His fingers pressed at the same time the two options.

*Click*

[System of Deaths detects an anomaly, the System tries to fix it...]

[System suffers great damage, to function, the System separates itself from its creator and enters completely into the host's soul to survive]

[Death System Initiated]

A series of consecutive messages transmitted the panel in front of Nova, who could only watch with his shocked eyes as this all unfolded.

He had never expected this development, he pressed the two options for simply not knowing which to choose. They all had their pros, but also incredible cons.

Knowing that, he pressed the two options to choose, he didn't have the mental capacity to think, that was clear, so he left everything to the randomness of fate, he even thought for sure one finger was far ahead and one far behind, so he was going to choose one, but no, they both pressed at the same time.

[System Of Deaths, you are now totally one with The Player, I did not merge with you, I simply occupied a place in your body and soul, one so small as to be almost imperceptible].

Reading the messages that accumulated, Nova felt extremely happy, he had never imagined this outcome and it was certainly the best.

"I am not a puppet, the system is not bound to its creator, that means... THE SYSTEM IS MINE! HA, HA, HA!"

Laughing like a maniac, tears of amusement and happiness were falling down his cheeks.

After so long, I was happy about something, I couldn't contain the joy I felt now.

He continued to laugh for several seconds before he stopped, wiping the tears from his eyes, he looked confidently at the panel.

After a few moments of thought, he decided to first try the most important and simple thing...

"Status."

Instantly, the screen changed, slightly increasing in size and its color, once black, was now a more transparent purple.

Nova looked forward to his status but instead received a panel where a large question mark "?" was displayed.

"What the hell is up with this?" Feeling a bit disappointed and annoyed, Nova demanded an immediate explanation.

Possibly because of the circumstances it happened or was it just the way it was now, but he was mentally and emotionally unstable.

Or possibly...

[Sistema De Muertes recommends you register to gain access to all the functions of the System].

With the explanation of the system, Nova felt very confused.

'What now we're not one, you're not in my soul, and with all and all I have to log in?'

A little annoyed and confused, but still he followed the system's instructions, but before that, an idea came to his mind.

"Let me log in," he commented with a slight smile on his face, showing his great confidence and pride in having this idea.

He could log in. If this was the Legends Genesis game, then he could log in to his Lord Noah account to get all the items, powers, abilities, levels, etc. Of his character.

Such a thought; conquering the world so easily made him smile wider, but that smile freezes the next second.

[Login is forbidden, you can only register with a new character].

The confident and proud smile faded like a passing wind, one might even question whether it was there in the first place.

The explanation of the system left him with a bad taste in his mouth, but he learned to control himself a little, control his emotions.

*He sighed*

With a sigh, Nova pressed the text that said [Register].

After pressing the text, it led to another one that just asked you for your username, which will be the identity you're going to have in this world.

'Mmm, what could I be called, Norman? Rael? Or Supernova?' thought Nova. "Oh, I know, Nova Leiden, that's a good name."

Nova didn't feel worthy of bearing the last name of his Earth family, not after what he went through and did, so he decided to create his own last name, Leiden.

This was the last name he was going to use for possibly the rest of his life, so he thought about it meticulously. Scarlet or Saphire were also good ideas to have as a nickname, but Leiden he liked, more than anything else, for its meaning.

Killer, cruelty and suffering, it could be both something positive and cruel and he liked that a lot, it was grim like himself and possibly what he would face in the future.

A keyboard was at the bottom of the screen, looking now like some sort of Tablet.

Wiggling his fingers, Nova typed in his username.

[Usser: Nova Leiden]

[Registration completed, the Usser, Nova Leiden, now have access to the Death System functions; as you are a new player, you will have a stat pack to increase them to your liking].

In Legends Genesis, when you register for the first time, you are given the same stat pack, which you can use to modify your character in stats.

So now Nova was feeling a bit nostalgic for those years when he was a novice player, but with that feeling of nostalgia, there was still the fear that he was Genesis.

'Alright, alright, calm down, everything will be seen later' He thought 'For now, I must have more information about this system and myself'

"Status."

As he spoke those words, the panel changed again, just like before, a slightly darker transparent purple, but unlike before, there was no big question mark (?), and now there was detailed information.

_______

________

"..." Nova could only respond with silence, as he read repeatedly to see if they had made any mistakes.

"So... This is my status" smiled Nova. "Honestly, it's much better than I thought."

"Level 20 mana, simply insane to begin with, ha ha ha ha."

A normal human's stats of a normal human are 5 points, but he has a Mana of 20, considerably exceeding the average.

He even imagined scenarios where he wouldn't have a single drop of Mana, but now he would have a considerable amount, at least to start.

But what caught his attention the most was the only available skill he has, just as with Mana, Nova imagined having no skill at all being from another planet.

But against the odds, he did have an ability, moreover, one that was written in a deep red.

Out of immense curiosity, not remembering such an ability in the game, Nova clicked on the ability to read its description, just like in the game.

What he didn't expect and never expected was what he read next...
