7 7 - Dungeon

The portal was 3 meters tall and 3 meters in diameter. According to his friends, it appeared at the sound of the crack. They were there when it appeared. In front of it was dungeon text that only players could see.

'Power: 300, Enemies: 56, Time left: 6 hours 56 minutes 53 seconds.'

It didn't take a high intelligence stat to realize what would happen if the time went out. Cain talked with Amy and Margo. It seemed like the players all wanted to clear it.

Thinking of responsibility, Cain made the decision to call out. "My friend Amy and I are going to try and clear the dungeon. If anyone wishes to help, it would be much appreciated.

The annoying kid who tried to ruin their shop showed up at that time. "I will help you beat it." He revealed his stats, which were all around 80. Cain had no reason to refuse. He just let the guy come.

The other players had similar but lesser stats. After everyone grouped up, their group numbered eight. This was hopefully enough to clear it without casualties.

A few problems were clear though. The players were all using the same weapons. While almost all of them held swords, there was no tank or ranged support. Stuff that you'd typically need for a prolonged boss fight wasn't available.

The next was stats. All of the players had gotten to the instance skill then stopped exercising. As a result, their stats could only grow so much. Cain would at least do a workout in the morning, and his stats were almost triple theirs.

He had to feel sorry for the players he brought with him. Unlike himself, their stats weren't around 300. There was a lot of reason to fear the sound that haunted their memories. Cain was lucky to be strong. It gave him a sort of confidence.

To Cain's surprise, the brat customer wasn't a bad addition to the party. As soon as they entered the dungeon, he began fighting without fear. The enemies were massive ogres. Cain had to at least give him credit for fighting things twice as large as him.

The group cut into the ogres with their best weapons and armor. Cain had half A class and half B class goblin armor. It looked considerably better than the others. With incredible efficiency, Cain and Amy sliced through the enemy.

The other members struggled to keep behind. Cain could only think of the complaints. "Hey, we should slow down so they can have more of the drops. No reason to hog." Amy and Cain then focused on beating a share of mobs, then weakening the rest. The power of the three main players gave confidence to the rest.

The brat customer wasn't far behind at all. He was a spectacle on his own. He had swordsmanship that matched Cain's technique. It seemed like they were both fencers or kendoists at one point. Making it to the boss room, they had an easy time getting there.

One of the additional members helpfully commented. "I counted the enemies so far. There should be three left in the boss room." With that in mind, the group opened the doors which were a massive gate. The dungeon so far was a cave, lit by torches. The room they entered now was a massive throne room. In the center of the circular room was a fancy throne.

On top of the throne was a giant ogre, plump and gluttonous. His massive weight spilled out over the seat. Alongside him were two giant board. They sat like dogs. As soon as the group entered the room, the giant boars charged, leaving the boss on his throne.

One of their members was hit by the snout, and slammed into the wall. His armor was shattered and barely saved him. Amy took on the boar while Cain used one of his healing potions on the teammate. Amy had grown quite strong since she started training.

The massive pig dashed around the entire room, turning slowly to loop back for an attack. It charged the blonde girl with massive fury. Waiting for the right moment, she sidestepped and sliced its side open. From there, it slowed down.

Amy gave it three slashes in a skill. [Triple Cut] The boar dissolved into ashes. Cain then dashed at the last boar. Without a skill, he gave it two slices, with one to the neck and another to the side. The boar flew into the far wall with a boom, continuing the momentum that it had made in the run.

Cain looked up towards the throne, ready to fight the boss. He was not there. A sudden whack to his side sent him flying. He caught himself before falling into the wall, and blocked a sudden second attack. This boss was very fast, but didn't think that it could've evaded Cain's blade for a proper hit. It was all brawn and no brain.

The massive ogre was crazily fast, but he couldn't match Cain's swordsmanship. While Cain could not land a proper hit, neither could the ogre. The players around there were watching. They couldn't do a thing. Amy stayed behind as well. No one knew how to fight a boss as a team.

As a result, Cain was on his own. "Amy! Take over for a second!" Cain dashed past her. 'Hopefully she can take it. It seems like I can't win without this.' He took a special potion out of his inventory. Drinking it, the effect temporarily gave him 70 points of strength.

Amy had held out well. She was good at striking for weak spots, and had struck the hand when the boss charged in for a hit. However, her defense was weak. As soon as Cain made it back, she was thrust into the wall.

'Thanks Amy. Sorry for that, but I'll end it now.' Cain felt bad for getting her hit, but had no time to reflect. The strength bonus was no joke. The ogre boss was being sliced again and again. No longer afraid of recklessly using his agility, Cain sped up. He only had one minute of strength.

Amy recovered and pitched in. So did the players. While Cain kept the boss occupied from the front, the team repeatedly slashed from the back. The weak points of the boss were permanently wounded, but everything else kept regenerating. However, the repeated attacks whittled his health.

Before long, the boss was dead. Cain rushed to Amy. She looked up weakly. "Did we win?.."

"Yeah. Sorry for getting you hit."

"This is nothing." Cain helped her use a healing potion. It was not enough to heal the pain, so he gave her one more. Healing potions were very rare, but there was never a wasted use in them.

The party arrived back at the fair. The portal closed behind them. Around the portal were several officers. They looked back at them with relief. Parents scolded their kids for going into the portal, while the police tried to find a summary of the situation.

Cain and his friends left early. He looked at the drops. Most of them were clubs. Another was ogre blood, which was stored in millimeters. There was also plenty of ogre meat. Cain decided out of curiosity to give some to the shareholder to check if it was edible.

Cain and the others packed up for the day. Cain had sold all of his swords. There was no reason to continue to sell things in this event. They went home having the satisfaction of stopping a disaster.
