Searching for Ava
"But he was fine this morning. What happened all of a sudden?" Juliet asked, her voice barely a whisper as she sobbed. Cameron shook his head, at a loss for words, unable to provide the answers she desperately sought.
Her question filled Cameron with shame; he knew he was the sole reason for her father's condition. Just then, Cameron's father and Lewis's wife arrived at the hospital.
"Cameron... what exactly happened at the company?" his father demanded, struggling to accept that his strong friend had suffered a heart attack.
"Dad... I'm sorry... it was all my fault. I never expected things to end like this..." Cameron replied, hanging his head in shame.
"What have you done?" his father roared, his fist clenching his suit in anger. "How could you put my friend in this state?"
"Ava..." Cameron managed to say, but he couldn't muster the courage to tell his father the whole truth.
