Offer as his secretary

" Come in…" Eva heard a male voice, instantly she stepped inside nervously taking the documents in her hand.

She noticed a huge room with luxurious furniture with modern interiors. But she could not see the face of the CEO. She could see only the black hair of the CEO as she was facing the backside of the black leather revolving chair. Her footsteps echoed in the room, the door closed automatically as she entered. When she reached the work table, she stopped and greeted him, " Good morning, sir " in a low voice. 

Cameron wondered how her voice was sweet and melodic when compared to the pitch of her voice in the elevator. But he changed to the professional mode ignoring the thoughts in his mind. 

" Miss. Ava… May I know why you left the job in the previous company? When they were giving you the same pay just like us and that too Pearson's company also a good company? " he questioned.

 " I used to work in another city at Pearson company. As my Aunt's health was not well at that time. I had to quit the job five months back to take care of her. So I am searching for a job where my Aunt lives " she replied. 

" Why should I give you this job? What if you again leave the job to take care of your Aunt? I mean to say when coming to professional life, you should balance personal with Professional life? " he doubted. 

" You are right, Mr. Richards to doubt giving me a job in your company. But as per my view sometimes personal life is more important than professional life. We can earn money and build professional careers only if we have the support of our loved people beside us. For me, my Aunt is more important than anything " she answered.

Then she continued, " That's why I applied for a job in this company to stay with my Aunt so that I can take care of her. I believe attaining a goal in professional life by neglecting our loved ones is not an achievement. Balancing both professional life and personal life without distancing ourselves from our beloved one is an achievement from my perspective " she answered.

 Cameron carefully listened to her every single word. On hearing her last sentences, he reminded his brother, Kevin. Her words touched in the corner of his heart. He understood that she is not feisty but had good thinking in her mind. In his modeling career and business circle, he came across many girls with beauty and brains. But for the first time, he saw the young lady with a beautiful brain with a beautiful heart. 

" What if I don't give you a job? " he questioned. 

She didn't expect this from him because she was waiting to get a job in this company. But she doesn't want to show him that she was desperate to get a job in this company. Not only that, she was in a financial crisis. She needs a job to lead her life and her Aunt's medical expenses. On the other side, Cameron was waiting for her reply. 

Gathering some courage, she said, " I think you will lose a good employee in your company if you don't take me". She doesn't want to lose self-respect at least. 

Cameron was impressed with her confidence and attitude. He wanted her to work with his company.

 " If you have no problem working as my secretary. You will have a good salary package with staff benefits. If you want to join, you can take an appointment with Mr. Lewis. And you have to come by sharp at 8.30 in the morning " Cameron said, making her startled. 

" Personal secretary? But my qualification and work experience are in marketing management. Not only that, I don't have experience in that job " she explained with a quivering voice. 

" It's your wish," he said in an arrogant tone. He doesn't want her to know he was interested in her. She doesn't understand what to do because whatever was happening was not expected.

When she was thinking, he told, " you have time till tomorrow morning. Think and decide by tomorrow morning…" he said. 

But in his heart, he wanted her to join as his secretary. He liked her self-confidence and at the same time, he was a bit annoyed by her ignorance in the elevator. It was the first time he experienced a young lady ignoring his presence as if he is trash.

" Okay...sir. I will let you know my decision by tomorrow morning, " saying she left his cabin in confusion.

" If you are going to join this company, I will see how you can't fall for my charms…" he thought in his mind with a devilish smile.

She silently walked out of his room with a baffled expression on her face. She needed a job but she didn't know what kind of work a secretary needed to do. 

Thinking about the CEO's offer, she exited the company. She boarded the bus to go to her apartment. On the way to her home, she thought about the offer.
