Twenty-two

We drank stale coffee and ate sweet bread together. Sitting side by side on my porch, overlooking the grayscale buildings in front of my shack of an apartment. We could hear the obnoxious cheer of people down below. Fake smiles and fake greeting. It disgusts us really, people having bald brain. If they only knew what happens inside each other's minds, they wouldn't even try to be near each other. Fakers.

And then he told me, "I poured my heart on you but we don't know each other. You don't even know my name." After eating the last bite of the bread, I answered, "I call you platinum in my head." He laughed. Genuine and it was surreal. It looked foreign in his face as he clutches his stomach while laughing. "I haven't laughed in a long time like that. Keep calling me platinum and I'll call you goth lady." With that he walked off. We didn't see each other again for a month.
