23 Chapter 23

"What the fucking hell?" Evie yelled as she fell from the bed to the ground, who dared disturb her peaceful sleep?

Her thick eyelashes fluttered open and it allowed her to see Ezekiel who was hovering around her.

"Get ready, let's go" Ezekiel ordered while Evie got up.

"Go where?" Evie asked Ezekiel who did not reply.

"Ezekiel! If you do not tell me where I am going then I am not leaving here, I have the right to know where we are going!" Evie yelled causing Ezekiel to halt in his tracks.

He turned his head to view her, she had her arms folded at her chest with a look that says 'I am not leaving here without knowing where I am going!'

"Don't push me to the wall Evelynn! " Ezekiel said calmly, but there was a warning in his voice, not that Evie cared though, what was the worst he could do? Kill her?

"I need you out in the next five minutes," he commanded again and was about to leave when Evie asked,

"If I take my bath, what should I wear?"

Ezekiel remained calm for some moments but said,

"Do you necessarily need to take a bath? Even if you take a bath you can still wear the nightgown."

"Really? You say I should put on the same cloth I wore last night again, while you are clad in a new outfit!" Evie yelled.

"Then suit yourself!" Ezekiel told her before leaving to avoid more unnecessary questions. This wife of his was pushing him to the edge!

Evie stared at the door that Ezekiel had slammed and smiled, who is he kidding? She was never stepping outside if he does not tell her where she was going to.

What does he think she is? A toy?! That can be pushed to do anything? She was human and needed an explanation for some things, besides they are a couple!

Evie busied herself by playing magic tiles on her phone, her room was eerily quiet until someone burst in.

"Evelynn! Do you seek death or something?" Paul asked, looking scared.

"Do I look like I am afraid of death?" Evie retorted.

"Ezekiel is really mad!" Paul continued.

"Then take him to the psychiatric hospital, or should I give you a contact of a psychiatrist?" Evie asked~ note the heavy sarcasm.

"Evelynn, please just obey Ezekiel, please" Paul was pleading right now.

"It is simple, just tell him to tell me where we are going?" Evie said with a devilish smile on her pretty face.

"Ezekiel is a type of person who does not explain things to people, try to see reasons with him," Paul pleaded again.

"Listen, Paul, stop wasting your strength in begging me because you see this girl here is not moving an inch from this place, the earlier you realize that then the better it is for you. If you don't have anything else to say, you can leave," Evie pointed to the door while Paul had his eyes wide open.

What was wrong with this couple? None of them seems to be agreeing! For crying out loud they just got married yesterday, they should not be fighting in their marriage, at least not this early.

Paul left the room, not knowing what to do, he could not possibly tell Ezekiel that his wife was adamant about not coming out.

He should meet Xander and tell him about Evie and Ezekiel before things go out of his control, he did not want Ezekiel to hurt Evie.

Paul went in search of Xander but before he could find Xander, Ezekiel found him.

"Where is she?" Ezekiel's hoarse voice filled the entire place.

"Kiel, please just calm down, tell her where you are taking her too, it is not hard" Paul pleaded but he knew it was impossible.

"I should tell her where I am taking her to? Who is she?" Ezekiel could not comprehend Paul's statement, he brushed past him and went for Evie's room.

Just then Xander popped out of nowhere and Paul told him everything, the duo then followed Ezekiel to Evie's room.

Evie was lying comfortably on the bed when her door came crashing into pieces, though she was frightened, she still composed herself.

"You know that there is a doorknob for a purpose" Evie taunted the angry Ezekiel.

"Get out of this room this instant!" Ezekiel's deep voice reverberated in the room.

"Why? I think you owe me an explanation," Evie got up from the bed and faced Ezekiel, he was only a head taller than her.

"An explanation?" He snorted "listen Evelynn, I do not owe anyone an explanation so if you do not mind, let us get going!" He fired.

"I am not going anywhere without you telling me where I am going, and then I would choose whether to follow you or not," Evie replied proudly.

Ezekiel was trying his best to keep himself at bay, but his wife was doing a good job pushing him to the edge.

No one had ever talked to him in such a manner that Evie talks to him and it was so unlike him that he had not sanctioned her greatly.

Ezekiel was holding himself, but why? He could not answer! He just did not want to hurt his arrogant, rude and fearless wife.

After a moment of intense staring at each other, Evie turned to lay back on the bed but got shocked by what Ezekiel did to her.

He yanked her back by her hair! He pulled her by her hair!

"Ezekiel, you are hurting me!!!!" Evie screamed in pain but Ezekiel did not stop, he pulled her higher, above the ground by her red hair and it was hurting like hell.

Xander and Paul came to her rescue but the glare Ezekiel gave them was enough warning that they should not interfere.

Evie tried to struggle free but his strength was too much, hot tears escaped her eyes.

By the way, Ezekiel was pulling her hair, she knew that her scalp would keep hurting for a long time.

"Are you ready to leave now?" Ezekiel asked and Evie could not bring herself to say yes, she could not succumb to this man. Never!

Ezekiel let go of her hair as she fell into the fall, what happened next seemed to be in a blur for her.

Ezekiel carried her by her legs and put her on his shoulders and left the room. Evie tried to struggle free but his grip on her tiny waist was tight and no matter how she struggled it did not help his grip tighten the more.

He placed her on the passenger seat and slammed the car's door right on her face.

He then entered the driver's seat and drove off.

Evie placed her head on the headrest, she was shocked to the core.
