1 Chapter 1: Genesis of New Stars.

LOCATION: Florida, Miami. SCORE: 2-2 91+2

The ball is loose, with two men charging just outside the box. The defender throws his body onto the ground, using the grass to slide, extending his leg forward to send it past the attacker, while the left back traps the ball with the bottom of his foot. With a quick spin of his heel, he explodes down the field, with the entire team charging along with him. "HERE!!!" A distant shout catches his attention on the wing.

A young player, certainly younger-looking than anyone else on the pitch, had his hand fully raised and his hair slicked back. The left back slams the inside of his foot onto the ball, sending it down the wing and heading straight at the winger.

BANG!!! The winger finds his back against a hardened wall, with a defender standing right behind him. Seemingly having no choice, he uses his body to protect the ball from the defender's reach. The ball hurtles at them with sheer ferocity. Suddenly, the winger executes a pirouette around the perplexed defender, the ball rolling through the defender's legs. In a moment of desperation, the defender spins his heel and reaches for the fabric of the winger's jersey. His face shifts into terror and dread as the winger accelerates past him. The Defender stumbles into the grass, his gaze ascending to the back of a vanishing jersey.

NUMBER 9, WEST.

Caught on the last line of defense, the entire team starts rushing down towards the goal. West explodes down the field with sheer velocity. He surges with a sense of determination towards the penalty area, each stride full of passion. Within an instant, his path is cut off by a defender. West rolls his foot over the ball without touching it multiple times, executing step-overs. The Defender closes in, the 1 on 1 becoming a wild west duel: life or death. West elegantly pivots his form to his left; the defender extends his limb in a calculated maneuver towards the ball. West surges with explosive quickness to the right, changing direction at the last second. The Defender, fully committed, is left in the dust by West. He can only turn his head in terror.

West, or the goalkeeper. Life or death. West hastily made his way into the box. A sweat drop escaped the goalkeeper's cheek, hitting the grass. West reeled back his foot, slamming the inside of his foot onto the ball, sending it skyrocketing into the bottom right corner. His animal instincts spring into action, sending himself onto the ground with his body fully stretched. The goalkeeper's fingertips made contact with the ball-

G...OOOOOOOOOOOOO...AAAAAAAAAAAAA...LLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The raw power from the shot sent the goalkeeper's fingertips back, piercing the defensive wall, leaving the goalkeeper devastated! The small stadium would roar, and fans pumped. West charged into the left corner, being jumped and hugged by his teammates. West turned his head, and the defense left in utter shock and sadness, crying and sobbing as many would hit the ground, unable to look at the score.

SCORE: 3-2 FULL TIME

The team entered the locker room, the room radiating with victory. The coach clapped, capturing everyone's attention. "Good job, everyone. Great tackle by Jake, decent pass by Jacob, sensational technical ability, and finishing by West. Great finish to the season, but don't let this win get to your head." Players looked at each other, West scoffing. "Let this season be the path to something greater; many of you will be scouted by bigger teams and academies." The coach's eyes lingered on West. "And maybe some of you will reach the MLS."

Sometime later...

"I've never seen you try so hard," Jake said, placing his hand on West's shoulder, a light chuckle escaping his lips.

West turned his head, sitting in silence for a couple of seconds. He stood up from the seat. "It was natural for me to want to win. Why do you even care?" He sighed, running his hands through his hair.

"Bro," Jake's demeanor shifted to concern. He stared at West for a solid moment. "You know what? Why do I care?" He turned around, sighing. "The coach says someone wants to see you outside." Jake exited the room.

West's eyebrows raised, grabbing his bag and walking out. West walked out of the small stadium, catching his coach and another man speaking to him.

"West." The coach shifted his body to face West. "This is Scott Freeman, a LA Galaxy scout." Scott reached out his hand, West shaking his.

"I was watching the game; I was thinking of giving you a shot at my team." West's eyes widen, feeling the strong wind past the area, unable to believe what he just heard.
