4 Chapter 4: Counter

By the time Zero and the other three left the room, they were ambushed by numerous reporters and newscasters who wanted to ask a few questions. Fortunately for them, Alfred and about five one-star guards were on already waiting, safely guiding them through the crowd straight to the limo.

Voom!

The car quickly hit the main road and sped off before anyone could react. Inside the limo Zero kept his usual nonchalant face ignoring Akila and Kira whose weird gazes were bearing down on him like a mountain. This continued for over two minutes and Zero could not bear it anymore so he spoke first.

"Alright! Alright!! I'll talk... I did nothing special I just got annoyed… The crystal orb gave off a faint white glow at first then it suddenly turned red… People didn't notice the first because it was too small, but I could feel it… I figured my potential was somewhere in between Legendary and Godlike so I gave it the slight push it needed" Zero explained like it was nothing serious.

The others wore stunned expressions, even Alfred was stunned by Zero's explanation but he chose to keep his thoughts to himself.

"And to give it the push it needs you had to scream 'you dare?'… Was that really necessary?" Akila asked with a worried look on his face.

"Well, I was pissed off… it was the first thing that came to mind so I said it out loud" Zero responded quickly, brushing off the topic like that.

"Well, it seems like Dan has way more potential than all of us" Kira smiled.

"I got white though! Our potential should be the same!" Zero argued

"Well, Dan didn't really need to push his own potential… it was just there… Yours is not as authentic as his" Akila responded quickly with a mischievous smile on his face.

It was obvious they were trying to piss Zero off, so he simply waved his hands and leaned on the leather cushion, closing his eyes and drifting away into the dreamland.

"Master Zero sleeps a lot" Alfred said after hesitating for a while.

"Of course he sleeps a lot. His body is quite weak, weaker than that of normal people… He started walking at the age of three… but his mental fortitude and power are so much stronger than that of average people and this compliments his special power… That's why he could block a direct attack aimed to take his life from a yellow belt assassin, with just his aura and come out unscathed!" Dan said with hints of admiration in his eyes.

Even though they could harm yellow belt martial arts disciples, it didn't mean they were strong enough to endure a single hit from them. In reality, the only ones capable of withstanding a direct hit from such a foe are Akila, due to his crazy physical capabilities and Zero who had an absolute defense. Should they go through the awakening ceremony and gain the ability to properly utilize their powers, Dan knew that Zero's strength will rise to a whole new level!

"I see…" Alfred nodded to show he understood Dan's words, after which he remained quiet throughout the journey while Dan and the other two talked a bit more.

In just about 45 minutes, the limo arrived at the mansion and to their greatest surprise, they were presented with a parcel from the school. In this were a few details and background knowledge of the institution, coupled with benefits students of class A and a few other things. They weren't really interested in this at the moment so they chose to ignore it. The only fascinating thing about the benefits was the section where members of the elite class A are allowed to wear any sort of attire that suits them, as long as the school badge is imprinted on it.

Kira found this interesting the most, so he quickly asked a few one-star bodyguards to fetch someone from the school to imprint the school badges on his blazing red attires. The excitement in his eyes could not be hidden and the whole day was noisy because of this.

While they were still in school, Zero and the other three managed their parent's company from home. Anderson, always prepared reports containing the latest developments and crafty moves that the government made towards seizing the oscuro group and taking over the company.

Apparently, a lot of board members had been bought over by the government these people possessed about fifty-one percent of the company shares. As heirs of the group, Zero and the other three possessed ten percent of the company shares each which they inherited from their parents, making it forty percent in total. The remaining sixty was unevenly distributed amongst powerful figures who have invested in the company for years. Each of these members was power and had solid backgrounds, for the fact the government could buy more than half of them over to their side simply showcased the hidden agenda's behind the government's harmless friend cover.

If not for the fact that Andrew accepted the hundred million Lu offer from the government when they approached, he never would have known how severe the situation was. In the eyes of the government and these people that were bought over, Zero and the other three are too young and immature to take control of the company. Also, this was a perfect opportunity for them to grab more power! The four wings of the liberation union, while they were alive, were powerful and ruthless, killing anyone deemed a foe at the spot. Normal civilians loved and worshiped them while the politicians and people at high positions and solid backgrounds feared them. In the presence of such powerful people, they dare not make a move, they could only wear a fake smile and follow their orders obediently! But now these four people are gone, there was no one else present to stop them.

All four of them read through the reports with distorted expressions and vicious grins. Murderous lights flashed in their eyes occasionally as they glanced through the reports near the fireplace. Alfred who was standing a few meters away felt shocked by the sudden change in personality of these four. At first, he thought these four were just carefree talentless brats of the former four most powerful S rated guardians in the kingdom but after the potential test, his respect for them grew by leaps and bounds since they were sure to reach the S ratings amongst guardians if given enough time to train. They will eventually reach the level of their parents so Alfred came to the conclusion that it would be wise to build a close relationship with them while they are still starting, by the way having an S rated guardian as a friend is no small thing, not to talk of four. If he could create a very good relationship with all four of them and maintain it till they reach the S ratings, his place in the society will rise by leaps and bounds. But now, seeing their sudden change in attitude after receiving the report terrified him! At this point Alfred realized these people were not just talented carefree brats, instead, they were talented bloodthirsty demons just like their parents! Watching them read through the reports with murderous intentions made him have a feeling of Déjà vu, he has gone through this kind of situation on numerous occasions in the past when their parents were still alive.

"These damned fucks think they can mess with us and live to tell the story?" Dan laughed coldly

"These pricks, we will definitely kill them all when the time comes!" Akila slammed the armchair with a clutched fist in anger.

"Yea, yea… we will definitely make them pay for trying to toy with us in the shadow… But the real question is, How do we deal with this?" Kira asked casually. He didn't seem to be flustered or annoyed by the news as he knew Dan and Zero will always come up with the solution.

Amongst the four of them, Dan and Zero were regarded as the brains while he and Akila were considered as the muscle, the backbone of the team.

"It's simple… Alfred, ask Anderson to prepare five hundred million Lu… The four of us possess ninety percent of the companies shares, Andrew possesses seven and Chairman Zhao ling possesses five… with that its fifty-two, coupled with Chairman Baros and Miss Louise on our side, we can secure a total of sixty-two votes.. removing those who have been compromised from the board…" Zero said casually.

"Since they asked Sir Anderson to keep this from us, they won't expect us to appear on the meeting day… it's a perfect time to strike… Unfortunately for them, Sir Anderson won't betray our families so easily" Dan added with a mischievous smile on his face.

"Chairman Zhao ling was bought over with a hundred million Lu and we getting him over to our side for five hundred million Lu is quite understandable but what happens after that… Are we just going to let that treacherous man sit by our side after he almost betrayed us?" Akila asked with clenched fists.

"Obviously that won't happen… after we vote out the traitors… we will call for another vote and vote him out as well…" Dan said. The smile on his face broadened even more.

"Do we really need to waste that much money on him? Without the chairman and the miss still on our side, coupled with Anderson and our four votes, we can easily get up to fifty-seven votes..,. we don't need him and even if we must use him, there's no need to pay him… the fact that we are aware of the arrangement is enough to scare him into joining us especially since we possess forty votes…." Kira explained with a slight frown on his face. It was obvious he was not satisfied with the plan.

"Keep calm… We are only hiring him because I don't really trust anyone… If the others could change so can the other two on our side… I'm pretty sure we have Anderson on our side… those two are the unknown variables… I don't like that…" Zero explained lazily.

"We need to make sure Chairman Zhao is on our side that's why we are paying that much and as for the money… Do you really think I intend to keep those treacherous vipers alive after this incident?" Zero said with raised eyebrows.

"Yep… we are going to completely ice them and get back what's ours… we will have Anderson relinquish his shares as well and take full control of the company… Our parents only sold the shares of the company as they needed immense funds when the company was at a crucial point… Now, we are past that point and no longer need their help…. They have overstayed their welcome and are more like leeches… its only natural we get rid of them and use the God sect as a cover as well… They ambushed our parents… why won't they ambush important persons of the oscuro organization… they must be hell-bent on destroying everything related to the four wings of the liberation union" Dan said with a sinister smile on his face.

The others nodded in agreement while Alfred stood there planted at the spot. These people came up with a cruel plan so quickly and decisively! He swore in his heart that he would never do anything to piss off these kids.
