149 Chapter 149: The Hooligans of Fish-Men Street

Adrian stretched out his hand speechlessly and tapped the little head of Love, who couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

"If you don't know, don't just make things up. What kind of tiger-striped shark is this?"

"At most, it's just a shark wearing a tiger-skin coat, alright?"

Although it sounds equally strange…

Standing in the middle of the Mermaid Cafe were a group of fierce-looking, large-bodied fish-men.

Leading them was a fish-man with a green headband, thick black curly hair, and a tangled beard, with his entire skin appearing strangely red.

Beside the red-skinned fish-man were several others.

To his left was a whale shark fish-man with a large figure and deep blue skin, characterized by eyebrows and sideburns like raging waves, a bun-like nose, two huge teeth protruding from the lower jaw, and draped in a white kimono embroidered with plum blossom patterns.

On the right side stood a tall, muscular sawshark Merfolk. His distinctive feature was a zigzagging, saw-like long nose. He wore a yellow-and-black fur coat with intricate patterns, which had led Love to mistakenly identify him as a tiger-striped shark.

Among the other fish-men gathered nearby were:

An octopus Merfolk with six arms, sporting an explosive head of steel needles.

A pale-skinned cartilaginous Merfolk with fin-like protrusions on both arms.

A Merfolk with prominent lips and greenish-gold semi-long hair.

A pop-eyed goldfish Merfolk with bulging eyes, a wooden expression, and a long knife in hand.

This motley crew of fish-men, with their fierce appearances, gave off a distinct vibe of street ruffians causing a ruckus in the bustling Mermaid Cafe.

Adrian quickly recognized the true identities of this group of fish-men.

At the forefront stood Fisher Tiger, flanked by Jinbe, Arlong, and Hatchi. These street ruffians from Fish-Men Street constituted the core members of the future Sun Pirates.

Love's exclamation at this moment also caught the attention of those fish-men. More specifically, it drew the gaze of Arlong, who wore the tiger-striped coat.

However, the first thing Arlong noticed wasn't the talking little fox, Love, nor his own little sister, Shyarly. Instead, the ferocious sawshark fish-man glared at Adrian.

"Hey! Are you the human who was just causing trouble on Fish-Men Island?" Arlong's tone dripped with undisguised hostility and displeasure. He even deliberately labeled Adrian's "rescue" as "主动闹事" (taking the initiative to cause trouble).

Among the fish-men, there are ideological currents, and Arlong falls into the category of those who are radical and vehemently reject humans.

Adrian frowned and retorted coldly, "Fish-men, if you don't know the whole story, don't judge me."

Just then, Fisher Tiger stepped forward, intervening to prevent Arlong from further pressuring Adrian.

"Arlong!"

As the captain of this group of fish-men street urchins and a renowned explorer on Fish-Men Island, Fisher Tiger commands immense respect among these fierce fish-men. Even the extremely human-hating Arlong had to clamp his mouth shut, ceasing his malicious provocation.

"Arlong," Miss Serena interjected, taking the initiative to stand up and defend Adrian, "If you didn't see what happened and don't know about it, I can explain it to you."

"Before, it was members of the Bullhead Pirates who abducted me, wanting to… In the end, it was Lord White Ghost who rescued me. Only then did I bring him to rest at the Mermaid Cafe."

"I understand!"

Arlong replied impatiently to Miss Serena, then turned his attention to the pale-skinned and nervous Shyarly.

"Shyarly, why don't you come home with your brother? Fish-Men Street is our home! Father and I are both waiting for you to return!"

Shyarly and Arlong were half-siblings.

In fact, Arlong was abandoned by his biological parents at a very young age and left in Fish-Men Street, a place specifically for homeless fish-men orphans.

Due to the incompetence of the previous management of Fish-Men Island, Fish-Men Street gradually evolved into a gathering place for illegal groups on the island.

The fish-men living on Fish-Men Street are mostly regarded by other residents of Fish-Men Island as idle rogues, troublemakers who stir up trouble, and they feel disgust and disdain for them.

Over time, Fish-Men Street has almost completely disconnected from the other areas of Fish-Men Island.

Later on, under the deliberate guidance and shaping by the malicious Hody Jones, Fish-Men Street became a hotbed of nurturing pain, hatred, despair, and discriminatory ideas for Fish-Men Island, waiting for the opportunity to retaliate against humans on the surface with bloodshed.

However, that's a story for next time.

At the current time period, although there were quite a few radicals in Fish-Men Street, they were still within a controllable range, nowhere near as exaggerated as it would become later.

But Fish-Men Street was still a place not welcomed by the residents of Fish-Men Island, that was beyond doubt.

Compared to the calm and peaceful Mermaid Cafe, Shyarly naturally would not like the chaotic Fish-Men Street.

But facing the intimidating Arlong, Shyarly could not utter any words of protest.

When Arlong was 15 years old, a man claiming to be Arlong's father brought his half-sister Shyarly to live in Fish-Men Street.

Although she felt nothing towards that completely irresponsible so-called "father," Arlong was still very responsible towards Shyarly, his "little sister."

It was just that Arlong's usual rash style of doing things meant he had no idea how to get along with his little sister, and he could only face her with a rough attitude.

Miss Serena the mermaid blocked the way: "Arlong, little Shyarly is living well in the Mermaid Cafe!"

Arlong said quite firmly: "I am Shyarly's brother! Fish-Men Street is where she should live!"

Miss Serena felt helpless. Handling family affairs was the most troublesome, and as an outsider, she really could not interfere in this kind of relationship.

Little Shyarly gritted her teeth tightly, almost biting through her lips until they bled.

Love tugged lightly at Adrian's clothes.

Although she had not obtained any good prophecy results from this wondrous fortune-teller little mermaid, Love still respected her greatly.

The little fox certainly did not want this powerful fortune-teller to be bullied by the fierce-looking tiger shark fish-man!

What brother or not brother!

Shyarly and that Arlong looked nothing alike at all, okay?

Don't think just because the fox has never been to Fish-Men Island that she is really some ignorant fool!

"Ahem… that," Adrian lightly coughed, "Just now, little Miss Shyarly did a fortune reading for me. I have not yet had the chance to pay the fortune-telling fee."

"Mister fish-man who claims to be her 'brother,' please do not treat your 'little sister' with such a crude attitude."

Arlong glanced at Fisher Tiger, forcefully repressing his irritation: "What does a human like you need to care about our siblings business?"

Adrian squatted down, his eyes meeting little Shyarly's eyes, and quietly asked.

"Miss Shyarly, please answer me now: do you want to return to Fish-Men Street with this brother Arlong?"

Little Shyarly silently shook her head.

Adrian turned his head to look at Arlong and said: "You see, mister Fish-Men, little Miss Shyarly does not want to go back."

Arlong finally lost his patience. He clenched his fists and leapt at Adrian: "You damn human! You are deliberately destroying the relationship between me and Shyarly!"

Little Shyarly let out a scream.

Adrian narrowed his eyes then stretched out a finger. An utterly common white ghost, no different from ordinary ones, emerged from his fingertip, piercing into Arlong's chest without any obstruction.

Negative Ghost: Crush.

"Sorry, I can't… at least I shouldn't… I'm just trash…"
