106 THE 19TH ACCOUNT: BECKFORTH VS. FRANCUA 8

"Hidden genius? What does that mean?" I asked.

"Sandlot adjusts his fighting style and strength depending on the danger he and the others around him were in," Jacob explained.

"If that's the case, then how come he could not beat you?" I asked.

"Because he still could not match my speed just yet AND he refuses to fight me with his full capability," Jacob answered.

"Is that so?" I asked and looked at Sandlot. He was looking up at his brothers.

"You didn't have to torture them that much," Sandlot told Captain Harold.

Captain Harold smirked, "You should've heard them scream in pain. Broken bones… lacerations in different parts of their bodies." He chuckled and taunted some more, "The other hostages were begging us to stop the torture. But, of course we didn't. Your brothers held up pretty nicely before their consciousness left them. I was contemplating on disemboweling them but you won't be able to see them die if I did," he taunted Sandlot.
