Pioneer of Ascension

Just three centuries ago, this world was like any other, magic and spirits considered fantasy, as steel and blood decided the era. Yet ever since that day, the trans-formative 'Flux' has flooded the world, turning beasts to demons, the elements conscious, and the humans... —— Follow the boy with no name from the village of Rehall as he is taken to an institute of the King to become a fierce and loyal soldier, all the while pioneering a new path of ascension. **** Author note: PoA is currently on indefinite hiatus as I work on Brink of Dawn, another title on this site.

Experimenting

As Lucian appeared in the temporary headquarters, one half of the tent half drew swords before recognizing him, while the other half didn't stop, one man going so far as to point the tip of a short spear towards his neck.

Lifting his chin above the spear point, Lucian swept an appraising look at the nine others in the tent, and extended a light grasp onto the spear, pinching it between three fingers as he spoke. "Okay, not the best entry, that's on me."

The man with the spear tried pushing the point closer as Lucian pinched it, and they were each somewhat startled at the force the other held on the weapon. After a moment, the sound of crossguards hitting scabbards rang out on the other side of the tent.

"We've waited Lucian. I don't remember you being so tardy."

The spears withdrew and the Nalduri side of the tent too calmed down as Lucian responded to the handsome, noble-looking youth. "Be polite Theo, no one has more dirt on you than me."
