Pillow of Hearts: A tale between the warm hug and cold coffee

Moon Young Jae’s homophobic family considered him a disgrace and held his freedom in their clutch. Even with being obedient, he was not free from their abuse. Young Jae was almost blinded and crippled by his father when he stood up for himself for the first time. Left to bleed and die, luckily, he did have a family who wanted to save him. It was twin cousins, who were disowned long before him, who saved him. Sad and hopeless, Young Jae became curious when he met his cousins’ friend, who understood him better than anyone, even without words. Curiosity got the best of him, and he ended by handing his heart, love and soul over a plater as a price. Slowly, Young Jae fell in love with everything about and around Min Jun and eventually fell for the man. Calculative Wang Min Jun entered Young Jae’s life accidentally. He challenged Young Jae's belief with a warm smile and flipped Young Jae’s world upside down. Min Jun read Young Jae like an open book. He planned to get over the little crush he had on his seniors' cousin brother but failed miserably. Min Jun did not like the often-visited ‘frown’ between those beautiful eyebrows and even the always singing of ‘sigh’ through those sinful lips. Min Jun made it his mission to change it only to fall for everything about Young Jae. Wang Min Jun carried his share of baggage, but he was well-prepared to meet the demons from the past head-on. But Young Jae became a mess whenever his past demons decided to pay a visit. He realised he did not have to face anything alone as he has a wonderful boyfriend who cherishes everything about him. Both faced their past demons and trauma together. When a person betrayed by a family fell in love with a person who holds his family above everything, sparks flew, and hearts soared in happiness. Will their story has a harmonious bell, or would it be a sea of misery? Teaser: Files were shattered all over Min Jun’s bed, and his laptop was placed on the bedside table. It chimed once in a while, indicating a new email for him to check. The work was piling more and more as he was diligently finishing it. Young Jae walked into his boyfriend’s bedroom to witness his handsome lover working hard. "Jun Jun! Are you busy?" Even though Young Jae did not want to disturb his lover, he knew he needed some help to impress his boss. "Never for you, love. Tell you what you need?" Min Jun did not lift his head from the file he was going through, but the warmth in his voice reached Young Jae's heart without fail. "Do you have a minute to help me in reviewing my monthly internship report? I have to present to our boss tomorrow morning." Young Jae pouted as he asked. Min Ju looked at his adorable tokki and smiled mischievously. "You are brave, asking your superior to help you sneakily. I can't do it for free. I need a huge bribe to help you. What are you planning to offer?" "Be serious. You have too much work to do." Young Jae chided his shameless boyfriend, who never failed to seize every opportunity to make him moan and groan as he takes him to the pleasurable heaven. "Exactly. I have too much work to do. If I am taking my time to help you, I need something in return. Something so tempting that I don’t mind cramping lots of things later." Min Jun smiled like a devil he was as he grabbed Young Jae towards him. The little rabbit who fell into the cunning wolf's lap did not even get a chance to protest as he was devoured breathlessly. Young Jae forgot why he entered the wolf's lair altogether. Min Jun pushed the files away to make space for his little rabbit to lay down comfortably. Young Jae’s report was long forgotten as a treacherous hand started to caress him again under the shirt as a sinful sound filled the room. Will resurrect you to Kill horribly!

Moon Chin Sun blamed herself for not being there for her cousin brother in the last weeks. She still remembered how Young Jae Oppa protected her from his father even when he was beaten to a pulp.

She shivered at the memory.

Her uncle was determined to beat Young Jae to death. She called her Oppa to save their cousin and tried to reason with her step-mother. But she had a bad premonition that something might happen to her Young Jae Oppa. Without any hesitation, she threw herself between her cousin and uncle.

She despised her family that minute more than anything. Her elder brother watched everything like a show whereas her Young Jae Oppa's sister Moon Sung Kyung looked as if her brother was not getting beaten by her father.

Chin Sun started to hate everyone who stood as a speculator at her sweet cousin's misery.

She was immersed in her thoughts that did not notice her uncle, who was about to kick her away. When she saw, she did not want to back down. She decided that if she could not save her cousin, she would get beaten together with him. That way, at the least, her cousin gets fewer beatings.

When she braced herself to for the kick, a weak hand grabbed her uncle's leg firmly.

She looked at her bruised and weak cousin who was determined to protect her even he had no strength left in him. "Let me go Sunny… Please… Don't get hurt…" her Young Jae Oppa said it with too much difficulty.

She remembered how her uncle strangled her cousin the minute he entered the house. Sunny could not see her cousin in pain. Young Jae used her moment of distraction and pushed her away firmly.

Sunny was shocked. When she met her cousin after a couple of minutes, he was in the pool of blood almost dead, after being thrown down the stairs.

The image of her cousin haunted her for days—more than that, the hatred she had for her family grew more strongly.

Chin Sun, who was lost in his thoughts when her second brother's twin entered the room. She looked up when she noticed a movement.

Kang Chin Mae was staring at Moon Young Jae with a glint of cold anger.

Chin Sun, who saw her newly found the second brother's twin staring at her cousin with hatred, and Sunny disliked it. She did not know anything about Kang Chin Mae. But she did not like how he was staring at Young Jae with hatred. She acted without even thinking.

Kang Chin Mae raised his eyebrow at his so-called sister when she stood in front of him and the person he disliked the most at the moment.

"Move. I have something to settle with him." Chin Mae told his sister and walked past her.

Chin Sun was not planning on letting anyone bully her cousin after everything he went through.

"I am not going to let you near my Oppa unless you tell me why? If you want to harm him, you need to pass me first." Chin Sun stood her ground and challenged Kang Chin Mae.

Chin Mae turned towards his twin, only to witness that the show amused the other.

Young Jae who heard it could not help but worry and ask his cousin sister. "What happened, Sunny? Is everything okay?"

Kang Chin Mae scoffed when he heard Young Jae's word. He got irritated at the man sitting in the bed with the gauze covering his eye. "You did everything and now act like an innocent. See how I am going to deal with you, Young Jae."

Young Jae's mother got worried, and the grandfather frowned in confusion.

"I will wait then, Mr Kang." Young Jae answered cheekily. He started to notice the difference between the twins' tone of talking. He was getting better at telling the identical twins' apart.

Chin Sun was surprised at the interaction. Before she questions what was happening, she felt both her upper arm being held gently but firmly by the man in front of her. She was surprised. She was lifted off the floor like she weighed nothing by Mr Kang, and he put her down out of his way.

Kang Chin Mae smirked at his sister who was looking at him with disbelief. "Now I passed through you!"

Kang Chin Mae looked back at Young Jae with anger. Chin Sun was lost, and she looked at her Chin Hae Oppa for help. He just gave a small reassuring smile at her.

Sunny hesitantly nodded her head and decided to believe her second brother.

Kang Chin Mae grabbed the collar of the sweatshirt Young Jae was wearing over his hospital gown.

"Why do you have this chain?"

Young Jae was confused and smiled later when he realised everything. He remembered what Min Jun told him when they met. Young Jae was worried if Kang Chin Mae would let Chin Hae Hyung meet his child. 'These two idiots fight at every given a chance. But the worst fight would be who cares about baby-doll. For both of them, she is like a real sister. So as long as she is there, they won't fight in fear of disappointing her. Don't worry!'

Young Jae smiled. "Baby-doll asked me to keep it for her till she comes back to South Korea and takes it from me."

Even though what he heard did not please Chin Mae, he decided to let it go when he realised his little one's reason for doing it.

"You better keep the chain safely till you return it to her. Or else I will show you hell while you are alive." Kang Chin Mae gave a threat.

"I will keep it safe and return it to her. You don't need to doubt me on that Mr Kang." Young Jae reassured his temperamental cousin again.

"You need to stay alive to give it to her Young Jae. Remember that. I heard from Uncle Ro that you might be having suicidal thoughts and giving up on yourself. Is that true?" Kang Chin Mae asked bluntly.

Min Jun called Chin Mae in the morning. Chin Mae was confused as Min Jun never uses his phone when he spends his time with his grandmother. He realised it might be important and only thing Min Jun told him was to enquire about Young Jae's status with uncle Ro before he meets his cousin. Chin Mae was pissed off when he heard it from Uncle Ro.

Everyone froze in the room when they heard Kang Chin Mae's words.

Chin Hae talked with Doctor Ro a day back, and he was in denial since then. He felt cornered when he realised there was no point in denying it any more. "Asshole! Can't you at least ask nicely?" Chin Hae asked his twin in anger.

"Why would I be nice to someone who won't be nice to himself?" Kang Chin Mae countered back dismissively.

Young Jae pulled himself, more like Min Jun's jacket out of Chin Mae's grip.

"I did think there was no point in living. I really did. But I don't think about it much these days. At least I try not to as I have reasons to live. I have to protect my sister and cousin sister. I have to take care of my mother and want her to see me being successful. I won't throw away my life that easily. It will only bring the people who tormented me satisfaction. So I won't do it!" Young Jae said it while holding the chain.

Only Moon Chin Hae noticed that Young Jae was holding the chain and Min Jun's jacket together when he uttered the words. It sounded like a promise rather than a convincing excuse.

A smile graced Chin Hae's lip. He was not sure what he was happy for—Young Jae's promise or how he held on to Min Jun's jacket for support.

But Kang Chin Mae was not convinced of the response. He leaned closer to Young Jae and decided to give him one last warning. "If you ever decide to go back on your word, I will resurrect you and make sure to kill you in my hands. I will make sure it is way too pain that you would think living would have been better. Do you understand?"

Even though it was a threat, it warmed Young Jae's heart understanding the underlying care.

With a smile, Young Jae spoke his words after careful consideration. "I understand, Hyung."

A lengthy chapter with 1425 words!

I watched a short film in the morning and ended up crying a lot. I wrote the chapter after that. So it started with some pain. It also made me realise that I did not want the story to continue in the pain path.
