Yoriichi Tsugikuni

"Finally, I achieved Transparent World" I heard his elated voice.

During this encounter mostly he was emotionless and calm. He only lost his cool during the end. But now he had a look of joy.

'Transparent World. From the name I can guess that he appears to see through everything as if he they are transparent. That means he will guess and predict my attacks and act accordingly. Also his heart rate is over 200 and his body is heated to such degree '

To test this immediately entered close combat and attacked him with a bone blade. As I thought he had parried and evaded all my strike perfectly.

"Very interesting Michikatsu. Are you sure you really do not want to become something more than human?" I didn't hear any reply as I saw that he was fully focused and didn't even hear my comment.

'So, I have to cover my internal organs and muscles to avoid getting my movements predicted'

I created a dense layer of bones and covered all my organs and muscles. They are very weak and cover almost all of muscles.

'I guess this should at least not make him see my internal organs clearly'

I attacked him with my blade again and found that it worked. He had a very hard time predicting my movements. But my agility was also reduced a bit due to the extra layer of bones.

But he blocked some and even cut one of the whips. His physical abilities and endurance were greatly improved.

Suddenly, I noticed a large, bottomless, deep presence. My body unconsciously shuddered feeling it.

"Michikatsu, if you agree to my offer you can can contact me. You will naturally know the method when the time comes. Goodbye" saying this I immediately released many bullets from my death cannon.

I immediately ran away. I didn't even turn back to see the effect of my attack.

What was he? He is the most powerful being I had encountered in my life other than Yoriichi.

He is not a demon yet he had inhuman abilities like them. Even though I achieved a transparent world I had a hard time fighting him.

"Ah ah ah" I had a hard time staying conscious but I gripped my sword tightly because I will never lose to anyone.

Suddenly I was dumbfounded as he said goodbye to me and ran off like his life was on the line.

On top of that, he sent many projectiles towards me. Using the transparent world I swiftly defended myself. It was very hard using to defend all this with just a single hand.

I stayed vigilant for a few seconds as my body gave in and I fell down.

'Why did he run away when he was very close to killing me? Did he pity me and spare me? Hehe, how pathetic. Moreover, he offered me an opportunity to become something greater than human. Will I defeat Yoriichi then?'

I noticed a gale as I suddenly noticed a figure in front of me. He is a tall and muscular man with long and spiky hair with red tips that he kept in a ponytail. A fire like Mark was on his forehead.

"Yoriichi" I unconsciously muttered.

"Brother, are you ok? How are you so injured? Here let me lift you" he slowly lifted my injury-ridden body.

He noticed the other slayer's state and said with a sigh "He's dead"

I felt deeply guilty and ashamed that I let my companion die. I was also a part reason for it. Yoriichi would have definitely saved him.

"I noticed a strong presence and rushed here. But I didn't find its source. Did you fight it?"

I didn't answer as I was seething with intense jealousy and anger.

'Did he run away because of Yoriichi? He ran away sensing Yoriichi's presence. How dare he? Will I never compare to Yoriichi in this lifetime?'

Many people from the demon slayer corps immediately arrived to clear the scene.

Huitzilin Pov

'What was that presence? It was so vast and deep that I felt great fear towards it' this is the first time I was this scared because of another person.

'But Michikatsu, such an interesting person. I really hope he will become a vampire and pledge his allegiance to me'

I immediately tracked general Ezume and found him in a tent scared to his wits. I need to leave quickly after I find the information as there is a high chance the demon slayers will contact him.

He prohibited anyone from entering the area in fear. I sneakily entered the tent and quickly inserted my fingers into his head.

I immediately read his memories and I found the information.

"He doesn't have any information about the stone" it was fake information.

Sighing I went toward my temporary hideout.

Third-person Pov

It's been a week. Michikatsu was training with his sword. The pain was visible in his eyes as he still had bandages all over him.

"Michikatsu I told you that you should not get out of bed. Why are being like this?" a slender woman with black hair asked. She was the Flower Hashira of this generation.

Michikatsu didn't reply to her and was practising his sword. Sighing, the flower hashira proceeded to leave but she noticed a person come in. It was the strongest demon slayer Yoriichi Tsugikuni.

"Welcome Yoriichi-san" she bowed with great respect. Yoriichi acknowledged her with a smile and a nod.

"How are you injuries brother?" Yoriichi asked Michikatsu.

"It will heal soon and I will be back on duty. Don't worry" Michikatsu replied with a bitter voice. His relationship with Yoriichi is a little complicated.

"I have bad news" Yoriichi said with a neutral tone.

Michikatsu had an ominous feeling as he inquired "What is it?"

"We have found that those who awakened the Mark die at the age of 25" Yoriichi replied without any emotion evident in his tone.

Both Michikatsu and the flower hashira was shocked as they couldn't accept the truth.
