13 The Stone Mask

I was shocked because my mother easily controlled her body and created heat with her blood. And she has just become a vampire a few days ago.

'How did she do it so soon? Even I, a pillar man only achieved it after some practice. Is there something I am missing'

During the whole training, I was pretty absentminded. My mother also reduced the temperature of her blood and to some extent mimicked ice.

We soon returned home and I started brainstorming what I had overlooked.

'The pillar men were a group of ancient species who had great strength. They only feared sunlight. They used primitive tools as a means of combat.

Wamuu, Esidisi and Kars have used elemental mode. They are related to Kars and in some way related to the Mask.

The mask! That's it. How did I forget it? Only those connected with the mask can use elemental mode. They are more powerful than an ordinary pillar man'

Ever since I was born I have never worn the mask. I always thought it will only be useful when I find the Red Stone of Aja.

'Pillar man using the mask also have increased hunger. But I have long ago accepted that I need to consume humans to survive'

So to test it I immediately took out the mask.

'I hope this works' I held the mask over my face and smeared some of my blood over it. Soon the tendrils pierced my brain. But at one point they stopped and can't pierce further.

My body felt completely new. I felt that I could completely control all the tiny cells and atoms in the body. My strength and vitality also have increased greatly. It was a surreal experience.

I was very satisfied and soon checked the parameters of my new body. I now have increased speed, power and regenerative capabilities.

The main improvement was the increase in control of my body. I feel more in tune with my body and thus exert more control.

I soon vaporized the moisture in my hand as it slowly turned into ice. This was DIO's vaporization freezing technique. Through contact I can absorb heat from the opponent's body, freezing them thus stopping their blood flow.

As I inspected my body, I noticed I was more beautiful and my charm was increased greatly.

'No shotacon will be able to resist me now' I thought in amusement.

I was in great joy. I have taken the next step in becoming strong. I have a clear goal now which is to develop my elemental modo.

'If I have overlooked the matter regarding the stone mask. What else have I overlooked?' I thought recalling everything again. Soon, I had a thought.

'The Sun. I instinctively believed that pillar man will become ashes in the sun. But in the whole show perhaps only Esidisi's brain was burned in sun.

Santana clearly only turned into a stone due to the sunlight. So, even if the sun rays are harmful to me and irritating, ultimately I will only turn into a stone not be burned into ashes'

I was still a little hesitant about deliberately, exposing myself to the sun to check this theory. But, I know I had to do this.

I waited for the sunlight while positioning myself so that the sun does not fall directly on me. After making up my mind I swiftly amputated my hand.

Only a thin vein connected my hand and the rest of my body. I cautiously placed my hand in the sun such that only a finger is exposed to the sun.

Soon, I felt the familiar heat and irritating feeling. I was very tempted to drag my hand into the shadow as the heat was travelling to the rest of my body through the vein. The vein was beginning to burn.

But I controlled my instincts to see what will happen. After painstakingly waiting for a minute I noticed the tip of my finger turning into a grey colour. Soon, it travelled to the rest of my finger as I quickly retreated my hand back and reattached it.

I quickly dropped a few drops of blood on my finger as the stone broke off and I saw my finger unharmed. Only then did I release a sigh of relief.

'Sigh, it truly works. I will not burn in the Sun and I will only turn into a stone. Still, it is a pretty gruesome fate too' I was truly happy that I realised this soon and not during some life-threatening movement.

I again thought if I have overlooked something but didn't find anything for the time being. (AN- Tell me if I have overlooked something)

I immediately started having thoughts about my elemental mode.

'I could the ones I say in JoJo but I want to have my mode. If the vaporization freezing technique is a skill then, the elemental mode is equivalent to class. It is a style of fighting and I can't rush it. Maybe bone manipulation would be good'

Soon, a week passed as I trained my mother. She was improving at a rapid pace. But she still can't convert other beings into a vampire.

'Her battle with Acalan is going to happen in 1 or 2 days. Even though I know Acalan is no match for her, I still can't help but be anxious'

As my mom was training she suddenly asked, "Should I reveal my powers to the tribe?" I honestly didn't know, they would think of it as a gift from God or something and would not be suspicious.

"It's your choice mom. But if you plan on revealing your powers, I recommend you control the tribe to not let the information travel to other territories"

A day passed by in a flash as the day of the battle arrived. My mother was very confident. She informed that she will try to win without powers if possible but she wanted to reveal the powers to the tribe and strengthen it.

'As long as they don't kill humans indiscriminately and I don't have vampire slayer up my ass I don't care. But even as normal humans they sacrificed humans without thought, what would happen if they become vampires' I shuddered thinking about it.

"Don't make other vampires indiscriminately mom. Only convert those who you trust and are worthy"
