*Alexa's POV*

The rest of the time was spent with me in my room attempting to read, but the twins wouldn't let me.

"We're bored," Tyler whined. Ryder nodded, agreeing with his twin.

I rolled myself to face them,"Well then go annoy Blake, not meeee."

The two of them looked at each other before asking in unison,"What's the fun in that?"

I groaned and buried my face in my pillow. I just wanted to read in peace and quiet.

There was sudden heavy weight on me back. Tyler decided to jump on me, and Ryder followed him.

"Get off!" I said, trying to push myself up. I could barely carry my own weight, so to me, these two felt like trucks.

Yup, this was my end, I was going to die. But I couldn't give up just yet - I still had a book to finish.

I quickly used my phone to call Blake.

"What?" He spat from the other side of the line.

"Ryder and Tyler won't get off me and I can't breath!" I replied, gasping for a bit of air.

There was a long sigh from Blake before silence. He had cut the call! Before I could lose hope, the door swung open and the pressure on me was gone.

I stretched a bit before looking up. The twins were rubbing their arms as they were on the floor while Blake was standing there with his phone in his hand, texting. It's like he had given Ryder and Tyler the tiniest push that had made them fall.

Blake gave a quick glance at me,"Go get me some food."

"What!?" I exclaimed.

"I said,'Go get me some food,'" He repeated as if I hadn't heard the first time.

"And why would I do that?" I asked, folding my arms.

"Because," Blake started, flicking me,"I had to walk all the way from my room just to do something you were too weak to do. You owe me for that."

I fell back ony bed and groaned, feeling too lazy to stand up. "Go on," Blake said, pushing me off my bed.

I stood in and dragged my feet all the way to the kitchen. Grabbing a packet of skittles and walking back to my room.

I thew the packet to Blake, who was seated on my bed.

"Hey!" The twin exclaimed,"We want some too!"m

"No can do," I said sticking out my tounge and hiding behind Blake for safety.

"Lexi, Ryder, Tyler!" I heard my name being called downstairs by Will. "We'll be leaving in a few!"

"Okay!" I replied as aloud as I could, hoping Will had heard. Blake eyed us suspiciously,"Where are you guys going?"

The twins froze on the spot as if we were already doomed. I mentally sighed, I had to do all the work. "Wil's taking me clothes shopping and the twins are coming just incase, as per mom's request," I smoothly lied,"You should have seen the heated argument and constant whining from Ryder and Tyler, it was hilarious."

By this time the two of them had regained from the shock of the question and had now joined me. "Well it's not my fault shopping is so boring," Ryder said.

"We have to go anyway, mom wants my closet to be full of clothes that I'm sure I won't wear," I said facing the mirror and re-doing my ponytail. I didn't have to change as I was still wearing the clothes from earlier that day.

Blake was almost convinced with my excuse, but we all knew that I wasn't able to persuade him fully.

After grabbing a handful of skittles - which earned me a push from Blake - I walked downstairs with the twins. Once we were out of earshot, Tyler said,"That was close one."

"That reminds me," I began,"You two have absolutely no clue on how to make an excuse. I bet if it wasn't for me, everything would be spoiled by now."

Tyler shrugged,"We do know how to come up with excuses."

"Obviously better ones than you," Ryder continued,"But, we've never been put in a situation like that, we usually just avoid Blake till we've got the presents."

Before I could reply, Will inturrupted me,"C'mon, I don't really have much time, I am scheduled to have a meeting in two hours."

Will drove us in the same car I had been in to go to the therapist. I was honestly convinced that each of my step brothers had an extra car incase their first one got a scratch on them.

We went to a few stores, but I was unable to find anything for him I wanting it to be special as it was the first time I would be there to celebrate his birthday. The twins and Will were already done, which left me.

I was a bit embarrassed being the only one and wasting their time as I went through each aisle. Then I saw it, it was perfect, enough to make Blake smile. I was hoping it was a gift he'd remember for life time.

Will paid for me, of course, because I had no money, and I was thankful that he did.

On the way home I was glued on my phone the whole time, eager to update my readers on Louis. Writing about him just gave me butterflies in my stomach, it took all my power to not squeal in front of my step brothers. Of course, my readers thought Louis, my step brothers, the therapist, and more were all fictional stuff, which was weird as it was my book was my diary to entertain other people.

I pressed 'Publish' just as we entered through the heavy-armed gates. I didn't have anything else that I was supposed to do so I went back up to my room to continue reading, flowing into a world of imagination.

That's what I loved about reading, I could live life in a different way than mine.
