70. Bodyguard

RuQian opened the mail to see that it contained a warning.

𝒮𝑜𝓂𝑒𝑜𝓃𝑒 𝒾𝓈 𝓅𝓁𝑜𝓉𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒶𝑔𝒶𝒾𝓃𝓈𝓉 𝓎𝑜𝓊. 𝐵𝑒 𝒸𝒶𝓇𝑒𝒻𝓊𝓁 𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒷𝒾𝓇𝓉𝒽𝒹𝒶𝓎 𝓅𝒶𝓇𝓉𝓎.

That was all it said. RuQian hacked into the account to find the ip address and learnt that it was Lu Xu Mei's desktop. The mail was sent while they were still in school. RuQian wanted to know who sent her the mail and that too from Lu Xu Mei's house but she had no way to know who it was.

The only thing she knew was that someone that was living in or working in Lu Xu Mei's house knew about her plan and had tried to warn her about it. How did this person find out her mail? This wasn't her secure mail address. This was the mail id she had given in the school office, the one she was using before her rebirth.

So there was a possibility that Lu Xu Mei had her mail address. But why would someone warn her? Was this a trick or was someone really trying to help her? She had to find out who all worked in that house first.

RuQian now had another work she had to deal with. She sighed loudly. 'Why was there so much work?' She left her room to speak to her grandfather about going to study abroad.

Her grandfather's face turned sour when he heard of her plans but he didn't want to tie her down. Even he knew that once he introduced RuQian as his granddaughter, her life would be under a microscope. He reluctantly agreed to her decision grumbling.

The next day RuQian spoke to the principal and arranged for her to be able to take the exams together with Lan Xie. She kept this as a surprise from her friends for now. She had spoken to Master Liu about this. This was the only thing she had been worried about. She had only started her lessons with him a few months back. She wanted to learn more from him but asking him to accompany her abroad for a few years wasn't something she could do. Master Liu said that he would give her an answer in a few days. She knew master Liu would go discuss this matter with HIM. In fact she did not mind Mu Chen knowing about her plans. He would find out later anyway. He was having his men follow her so he would find out in time.

The first time she realized someone was following her she was afraid. But later after she dug up the man's background she found out he worked for Mu Chen. She didn't know why Mu Chen was doing this. He was having someone follow her, he had sent his subordinate to train her, he had even helped them with their shopping. This was getting weird now. She had many questions to ask but she was scared to hear the answers more because if his answers were what she suspected, all her plans would be thrown into disarray.

As RuQian had expected Master Liu went and informed Mu Chen of RuQian's plan to leave for abroad. Mu Chen frowned slightly when he heard of her plans. He closed his eyes and fell into a contemplative silence. "I'll inform you later." Master Liu left the study silently understanding his master needed some time.

Mu Chen drummed his fingers on his desk for a while before checking where RuQian had been to that day. Then he hacked into Zhang Tech. It was a good company, with a good security but his skills were better and he was able to mask his digital prints well. He watched attentively from when she entered the parking lot to when she and her grandfather left. He did not even notice the doting smile on his face until he caught his reflection on the now dark screen of his computer.

She looked so cute when she was angry and was ordering that secretary around as if she was the boss. She seemed like a sweet little kitten. He adjusted his expression when he caught his reflection. He thanked the lord there was no one else around to see the look on his face. He had to be careful whenever he thought about this kitten from now on.

He called Master Liu into his study. "Go with her. See what's happening with our group there. I haven't been able to visit recently anyways. This will be a good chance to weed out the bad one's. If there's anyone that's acting out of line, take care of it. At the same time, I heard my cousin will also be going with her. Teach my cousin along with her. That Lan girl will be a useful bodyguard for her."

"Yes master." Master Liu didn't know whether to laugh or cry. 'Master you're not only sending me away but you also want me to teach another teenage girl?' He could still accept it if his master cared about his cousin but NO. He wanted his own flesh and blood cousin to be a bodyguard for RuQian.

"Um.. master, RuQian has been improving by leaps and bounds. She's almost done with Tai Chi. I will be starting on Kyusho Jitsu with her quickly, even before she.. we leave."

"She is still slow." Mu Chen sighed very softly, so softly that if Master Liu wasn't a trained specialist he wouldn't have heard. "She is faster than you but still much slower than me."

"Master, you mean..?"

"She will learn the same routine I did. She has to be on par with me or if possible better than me." Master Liu was utterly shocked when he heard this. If she had to be on par with his master then she really needed to learn much faster than the speed at which she was learning now. He wanted to ask more questions but kept quiet, it would be better if he didn't know a lot and moreover his master wouldn't tell him even if he asked.

"I'll change her schedule and start with teaching two techniques at the same time for now. If she can keep up, I will add weapon training in. It will be easier to teach her weapons when we are abroad. Her grandfather won't be there." Master Liu's gaze now held a strong determination which wasn't present before.

"Hm.. Don't push her too much. She can't stop learning. Even though I don't think she will throw a tantrum, don't take any chances."

"Yes master." Master Liu bowed and left after a while. Mu Chen glanced at the photo of the smiling girl on his computer. It was of the day she had laughed out loud outside her school building. She looked so sweet and innocent while laughing like that. His lips unconsciously tugged up into a soft smile.

"I guess I will have to meet you at least once before you leave, kitty." His gray eyes lovingly traced her features.
