Chapter 9: Trip to work place.

I woke up the next day feeling extremely fresh. The exhaustion from yesterday was nowhere to be seen. Now that I'm enjoying my summer vacation now I didn't know what to do today. I finished my morning routine and went to the dinning room. My mother was busy packing food, this is a shocker. My mother never packed food for my father on a normal day. She only does that if he missed his breakfast.

Kenji: Hey mom, are you packing food for dad? Did he go to work without having any breakfast.

Mom: Yeah ken-chan there seemed to be a villain incident in one of our coffee shop so dad went early in the morning to visit the place and talking with the insurance company.

Kenji: Mom can I come with you to vist father's workplace?

Mom: sure honey but be sure to get dressed and have your breakfast in 20 minutes. ok?

Kenji: Sure mom.

Kenji and his mom got out of the car infront of a 3 story building where first floor is made up of the coffee shop and the second floor contain storage, working space and the third floor has office for both dad nad grandpa.

Now our family owns about 300 coffee all around Tokyo and the neighbouring districts. There were only 150 shops when I was born the extra shops are the result of rapid expansion.

The main speciality about our shops are our own blend of coffee that is a mix of two to three varieties of coffee bean to bring the perfect coffee and our sweets. We offer both western and traditional Japanese sweets in our shop.

Our coffee shop is quiet famous among couples and office goers. We do have some small heritage from our grandpa side so that's how the coffee shop came to be.

Me and my mom went inside the building. I was looking around the place. It was quiet and only the coffee making sounds could be heard along with some whispers. People in Japan don't shout or talk very loud in coffee shops as they enjoy the silence and peaceful atmosphere.

We went upstairs through lift and reached our father's office. We entered and my father who was looking into some files and noticed us and welcomed us.

Dad: Haru you didn't have to come I could have just ordered some food to eat.

Mom: It's fine and I also wanted to know about the situation in the coffee shop in Shibuya.

Dad: Unfortunately the damage was quiet extensive. Initially the fight was between two body enhancers but the hero intervened was a pshycokinetic and when he was in a danger he couldn't control his power well and caused severe damage to the surrounding properties. The hero was quiet new to the work it seems so the damage.

Mom: Sigh so what about the insurance company, what are they saying?

Dad: They did their visit and took the damage of building into account but not the machineries so we have to cover its cost.

Mom: The machineries are insured right whya are they not providing the compensation for them?

Dad: That's the problem. The insurance paper for the machineries are missing. They are telling me that the machines are not insured and they don't have any record of it. This is somewhat of a headache right now.

Mom: Is someone in our company doing some embezzling?

Dad: I think so just now I was checking the insurance papers to check the data and I found lot of blank insurance files for 35 coffee shops.

Mom: Are these regions under same person?

Dad: yes, it's under Takami-san, he is the regional head we appointed 15 years ago. I didn't think he would do this.

Mom: I thought you told me he was working for more than 20 years.

Dad: yeah he was working for my father when he was operating the restaurant. He is also father's friend so I hired him after dad closed his restaurant buisness. I still can't believe it would be him.

Mom: Have you informed otou-san yet?

Dad: Not yet. I'm going to inform mom and ask her to break the news. We will take action according to what he says.

Mom: Ok. Take care honey don't stress yourself too much.

Dad: yeah honey I'll take care.

Wow. I didn't know my presence is so small. I entered the office with my mom but dad didn't notice me. Is this a curse from past (or just the author forgot to include me in the conversation).

Kenji: Hey dad I'm also here you know. Please stop flirting with mom.

Dad: Hahaha. I know you are here ken-chan. So how's your training with grandma is it going?

Kenji: It's going fine dad. Today is a rest day and from tomorrow we will continue training. Grandma told me she had some surprise for me.

Dad: Ok son take care. If you want you can just tour around the coffee shop I'll arrange someone to give you a tour of the place.

Kenji: Ok dad I'll tour and have some of our speciality.

Dad then called his assistant and asked her to give me a tour of this place. I have not been to this place in last two years because of my training. As I was going around the place the people working there asked the lady who I was and she explained it. Then people working there gave me candies, cookies, cake and a lot of those stuff.

I didn't know being the company owners son had this much perk. Even though the products are ours it'll be billed to the workers at half price if they have it for themselves. Knowing that I refused but they gave it to me anyways. Maybe my father is loved by all his staff members or I'm a very cute child. Maybe it's the later.

The day was spent this way and while back home both mom and dad were distraught with their emotions. They might be thinking about the Takami guy.

It's not my issue and not my expertise I can't give any opinions on this matter. I can just comfort them if they need it. I should focus on becoming a hero and do my best in that regard.
