The Two Wizards

'The Rising...'

"I win!" Athena announced stomping her foot down onto the mans stomach as hard as she could breaking a few of his ribs. "Another victory for Athena Dawn, Ace Arcane Knight! I'll be the Guild Master in no time at this rate!"

"A... Athena... Athena can... Absorb magic." Oliver asked with wide eyes.

"That's right." Davi smirked giving a large shark toothed grin. "Just like me Athena isn't technically a human. At least not fully."

"She took him out in one attack-"

"Yeah she is pretty cool. Anyways how about we call it a day and leave-"

Flames exploded out of the boat from behind the group. They slowly turned around and saw all the captives were now free and running off in a panic. And standing at the top of the boat was a very, very pissed off looking, Kaen who glared down at the group of three below.

"You three are..." Flames began to hiss off of his body covering the boat as he got a crazed look in his eyes. "Dead!"

"He did it," Davi said pointing at Oliver. He quickly had to duck down as a ball of molten death flew past him and smashed into the ground behind him. "Okay he's pissed!"

"It's Okay because Athena can just absorb it right!" Oliver yelled in a panic as Davi dragged him away avoiding all the balls of heated death. Davi was practically carrying him, and Jakey, side stepping the many, many, orange orbs of flames that flew at them at fast speeds. Oliver didn't even have time to wonder how Davi was moving so fast.

"Nope! Athena's super cool and powerful, like way stronger than me, but she can only absorb lighting magic!" Davi said in a panic. "Why couldn't the mini-boss, and boss be swapped out!"

"The what and the what?"

"Meta humor."

"I know that man." Oliver yelled from over the explosion. "That man is Kaen! He was in a guild called the Silver Ravens! He got kicked out though for burning a fellow Guild member to ash! He's been a criminal since then!"

"So he's an Ex Guild member huh..." Davi asked giving a small smirk. "Interesting..." This would be a good chance to test his skill against someone who made it into a Guild. He had tried to join the Silver Ravens but got kicked out, now that he had his second Devil Stone though, not only was he stronger, and faster, he had a new weapon as well. This would be the best chance to test out where his own power was ranked compared to a Guild member.

Kaen unleashed a loud cry of laughter, and rained down balls of flames onto the group causing such an intense heat the sand on the beach began to slowly turn into glass around them shattering and sending up shards of melting glass.

Athena danced around the balls of flames and brought her hands together. "Lighting Magic! Beast King's Roar!" She yelled bringing her hands up to her mouth and blowing.

A wave of lighting fired out of her hands slamming into Kaen's arm and ironically burning the fire mages arm. He let out a loud scream of pain and launched forward slamming a flaming fist into Athena, making her scream out in pain as her body was launched away crashing through the sand.

Kaen brought both his arms up as several orbs of flames exploded out of him, from where he stood on the boat. They flew out in all directions at a high speed burning everything around him and sending explosions rocking out in all directions every which way.

"Everyone dies!" Kaen laughed.

"Okay he's causing a lot of destruction..." Davi muttered. "Where are the other guys? The royal guard should have shown up by now?"

Oliver's eyes went wide as he remembered something. "He has a stone thingy! It does something. It uhh... Shuns non magics away!"

"Ahh. Okay." Davi said. At this point both his arms were carrying Oliver up. bridal style.

Oliver felt extremely embarrassed about the situation but didn't know what he could do as if he didn't move he'd be dead.

"Without my sword I'm..." He shook his head as his eyes slowly turned to look at Kaen who still stood on the boat raining fire down. "Damn it... Why am I so useless..."

Kaen looked like he was having the time of his life staring with glee as the beach was becoming an ocean of glass and flames. He couldn't help but cackle as he watched all of them dance around and try and dodge the attacks. Every now and then a ball would hit one of them burning into them and making them all gasp in pain.

Very quickly Davi, Sada, and Oliver, began to have small burn marks. Nothing that couldn't be fixed with some good old magic, but it still looked painful.

"Die! Die! Die!" Kaen laughed. "You brats caused me so many problems and even hurt my Pako! All of you burn away!"

"Talk about a crazy son of a bi-"

"Davi! Quit being a scrub and do something!" Athena yelled in a panic as another ball of flames slammed into her leg and burning into it as she let out a yell of pain.

"You have magic to?" Oliver asked staring at Davi in surprise. 'I guess they're both wizards...' He thought.

"Yeah." Davi smirked dropping Oliver to the ground. "Swim Magic. I can swim through the floor as if its water! I'm a real shark."

"Holy shit that magic sucks..." Oliver said staring at Davi. 'So that's his magic huh... But still. That kind of Magic isn't designed for combat. No way he can beat those orbs with just that?'

Davi gave a small grin showing off his shark teeth which seemed to get sharper. "I have a few tricks up my sleeve." He said doing a cool pose with his electric guitar for a moment.

Davi held the guitar up wielding it like some kind of battle axe. He gave another shark tooth grin as his grip tightened. "Since my swim magic has never been that strong, and in a battle there are only a couple of ways I can use it I needed a way to fight other than my typical magic... So I went on an Adventure and found this weapon I'm holding."

"Uh... Your guitar?" Oliver asked blinking afew times.

Kaen brought his hands together as the flames began to come together. "Forget all the money! I'm killing each and one of you now!" He yelled out slamming his hands down. "I'm throwing subtle out the window! I'll blow this entire God damn city up!"

The ball of fire was massive spiraling through the air and hissing out in massive flares. It spun around and actually began to bubble the ocean from its intense heat and power. It flew towards them all as Oliver and Athena's eyes went wide.

"Well, we're dead," Athena said casually. "If only Davi wasn't such a jackass and used his power sooner..."

Davi signed rolling his eyes as the fire dropped from the sky. "Guess I'll do my job." He turned his back towards the ball of fire as his red guitar began to glow. "You know." He said as his eyes slowly met with Kaen. The ball of flames slammed into Davi at an incredible speed.

Only...

Something weird seemed to happen.

"Relic Unlock! Long-Calibur!" Davi's voice echoed out from the ball of flame as it began to twitch and flicker.

Then like a cannonball it fired off of him and headed towards Kaen just barely missing the shocked man. It slammed into the ocean and exploded in a massive hail of flames shocking everyone but Athena who let out a relieved sigh.

"About time he got serious..." She muttered. "I thought we were a goner for sure."

"What just happened..." Oliver asked looking up. His eyes went wide when he saw Davi.

Davi stood in the center of a glass field now, due to the ball of flames.

The pretty red guitar was gone now leaving only a slick silver sword that looked almost like a claymore but it was bigger. As if you'd mash two claymores together. At the end of the handle a strange glassy orb could be seen and a large number one could be seen on the blade. The blade seemed to almost glow with a small silver glow.

Kaen's eyes became crossed from his rage and shock as he began breathing heavily, either from anger or fear it was impossible to tell. "You... You redirected my magic... That... That stupid guitar was a Relic with one of the ten devil stones!"

"A... A Relic?" Oliver muttered. "Ten devil stones?"

"Powerful weapons imbued with the magic of a Devil," Athena said folding her arms and suddenly standing next to the boy. "Legend has it the Devil crafted ten powerful weapons each holding a portion of his power. These ten weapons are powerful and take the form of ten weapons. What you see is one of the weapons. Long-Calibur... The ever lengthening sword."

Kaen recoiled back as he stared at that weapon with wide eyes. "So what! I don't care if you do have a Devil Stone!"

Davi pointed his weapon at Kaen as he smirked. "You face Davi Hawker! The man who stole from the Devil!"

Kaen let out a scream covering his head with his arms as the flames literally exploded off of him like a bomb. "Damn you!"

Davis shot forward flying through the air. He spun the weapon around his body and used it to not only block the flames but actually redirect them back towards the man causing himself to begin to burn from his own attacks.

He flew past the crazy man spinning around on the burning boat as he brought his weapon up. "Blade! Extend!" Davi announced thrusting the sword forward as hard as he could. The blade fired forward suddenly getting longer as it grew in size and split Kaen's cheek open who barely had time to dodge it.

"Damn you, damn you, damn you!" He screamed slashing his arm down and sending out a whip of fire which Davi blocked with his sword which shrunk back down to its normal size.

He easily deflected more of the attacks and thrusted it forward again increasing its size and slicing the other mans cheek open.

"Good luck dodging these!" Davi smirked. "It can extend and shrink at the speed of sound."

Kaen's teeth grinded together so hard a crack echoed out as he snapped some of them. This caused Davi to simply smile wider showing off his massive fanged shark teeth.

"I'll use my strongest move than..." Kaen hissed out. He held his right arm out as all the flames moved together into his palm forming a small ball of compressed down flame. "This ball can wipe out an entire small village." He smirked. "Good luck!" He threw his arm back stepped forward and thrusted the ball of explosions towards the teen. "Hell's Sun!"

Davi stood his ground as the ball of flames flew towards him. "Then I'll take it up a notch." Davi smiled. His sword glowed as it began to glow and change forms. "Second Devil Stone. Explosive-Calibur!" The sword changed becoming a large curved blade with a two on it. It was like a giant curved great sword. The sight of the blade made Kaen's eyes widen.

"Wait! You have two Devil Stone-"

Davi slashed the sword forward sending out an explosive wave which washed over the ball of flames devouring it and smashing into Kaen blowing up everything in front of Davi. A few seconds passed as Kaen crashed into the ground unmoving.

Davi landed back on the ground and did a pose as he placed his weapon above him. It glowed red and turned back into his red guitar.

"Looks like I win." He smirked.

"So cool..." Oliver said with stars in his eyes.

There was a loud whistle as the three of them turned and saw several Guards all running towards them.

"Oh no! Time to run!" Davi laughed. He ran forward grabbing Oliver's hand as he dragged the boy with him. Athena ran after them as the three began to run down the side of the beach and away from the Guards.

"What! Why are we running!"

"Well, we kind of crashed a boat onto the beach saving you." Athena laughed. "We're sort of criminals right now..."

Oliver's eyes were wide for a moment as he looked at the back of Davi who was dragging him down the beach. "W... Where are we going then?"

Davi looked back and have Oliver a large grin. "Isn't that obvious?"

"N... No?"

"We're going to Phoenix Flight's Guild Hall!" Davi announced. Oliver's eyes went wide as he felt his breathing stop for a moment. "From this day on you're gonna be an Arcane Knight! We'll all joing that Guild together!"

Oliver's smile was even larger than Davis for a moment. He held on to Davi's hand tighter as he began to run alongside him no longer being dragged.

"I did it."

Up above from the beach a man in his early thirties could be seen resting up on the bridge as he stared down Athena, Davi, and Oliver. The man was the same one who had pulled himself out of Jakey.

He ran a hand through his messy red hair as he gave a small smile. "You're doing good Oliver. I knew giving you Jakey was the right choice... And you..." His eyes slowly drifted over to Athena as he smiled. "I'm so proud of you, my daughter..."

The man slowly turned away as a small flicker of lightning covered his body and he vanished.
