Chance For a Second Life

[Trial will now begin in...]

As Qin slowly got up from the cold floor of the dungeon he felt something sting inside his head. He touch his left and found the blood flowing out of open wounds, however, now that he touched his head he noticed that he was already covered in blood.

Quickly after regaining some of his strength Qin push himself to get up from the ground. Looking around he did not have anything with him other than the cheap sword he got from the underground market and his dusty old clothes he uses when he goes out to enter a dungeon.

"I should be dead by now so where am I?"

He clearly remembers the moment when he was hit by that speeding car so why was he still alive? The impact he felt that moment was not fake nor was it an illusion because even now, his head was still bleeding.

He looked up and saw the blue sky was still the same and the other thing he saw was his name floating above his head.

<Qin: level 1>

It was weird as if he was inside those video games he keeps hearing about, however, Qin did not know what those words mean so he ignored them for now and tried to remember something very important and that's... his alive.

That's right, the most important thing right now was not the fact that words were floating above his head and that's his alive and that means, he will be able to get out this world once more.

"I need to get out of here."

He was determined to leave and he's not willing to back away from this thought, and just as he was thinking of ways on how to leave dungeons like this a voice rang inside his head.

[The Trial will start in...]

Ten,

Nine,

Eight,

"What's this, a timer?"

Just as he was thinking of ways to get out, he heard the mechanical voice and looked up the sky once again only to see that a number counting down has appeared from out of nowhere.

"I can't touch it."

He tried touching the countdown timer but his hand only passed through the floating numbers.

Three,

Two,

One.

[Trial Quest: Second Chance to Live]

Kill Fifty Ghouls: Incomplete (0/50)

Slay the Exiled King: Incomplete (0/1)

*Rewards: You will earn the title of the 'Phantom' and a second chance to live.

*Penalty to Accomplish this quest will result in the ninth candidate having permanent death.

*Time Limit: Thirty Days

It was a clear instruction, however, Qin still did not know what kind of thing this voice is but the only thing he was sure about was that he's the ninth person to come inside this weird dungeon and from what he can tell about its choice of words those eight before him all failed these quest and died for good.

Awoo!!

A howl was heard and Qin, a Seeker instinctively took his sword and placed it in front of his chest. The sword he's wielding was about half a meter in length making it a short sword, he was not yet sure what to do so he moved forward.

Qin did not know what was happening so he moved forward. Since this trial officially started something other than his level which floated above his head has appeared from his line of sight and that's a circular map.

The map quietly floated near his right hand and from what he could tell the map was so detailed that it was almost creepy and right above this small map of his was there was a title etched [Phantom Dungeon].

The map was an overview of what seems to be the whole dungeon area and in the middle of the dungeon, there was a blue dot that continuously moved north.

Aside from the [Mini-map], that's by his side there's also the bar on the upper left of him it was color red and blue and from the description that popped up when he looked at it was his [Health Bar] and [Mana Bar].

"Seems like I have some good things with me. However, the problem I have now will be to locate this [Ghouls]."

Just as he was saying those words the [Mini-map] had some changes and became much more detailed than before. The previous mini-map was enough to be called creepy but now it transcended that creepiness and became outright outstanding and amazing.

Names of areas and places appeared from out of nowhere and when he tried to catch a glimpse of the little names he saw [Jackal Camp] and then [Phyton Den] and some other names.

There were fourteen names on the map and as for where the Ghouls were so far away that Qin can past around five different camps before he can reach the enemies he was supposed to kill.

Qin tried marking the camp where the Ghouls were and just as he was doing this, he felt the ground suddenly rumble and from that rumbling, he lost his balance and suddenly trip resulting for him to make out with the lovable ground.

Roar!!

He heard a roar come from somewhere else and when he did a shadow was cast upon his body as a three-eyed five-meter big bear suddenly peeked its head from behind the towering trees.

<Demon Bear: level 79>

Qin read the name of the monster in front of him and then saw the level of the passing monster and when he did he hurriedly went to take cover behind the nearby trees and bushes.

Rustle!!

When he did, he made a rustling sound that attracted the attention of the Demon Bear resulting for the bear to move closer to where he is hiding.
