49 Tender Heart Is At Risk Part 2

So Eun grabbed his hand and stopped at the main road.

The two tossed and turn in the middle of the sun blemishing the streets packed with people.

He waited for the old man to go through before he faces Han Min.

He had intended to make it as formal as possible, yet from scratching his nape out of anxiety, he'd a feeling that he wouldn't look urgent at all--Han Min might find him running away discreetly.

"As the Deity of this region, I mustn't run away from my responsibilities. Even though I'm just going with the flow since the very start…" And lifting off the burden he has on him, so the man can freely work on his own without saving this beginner.

So Eun continued to examine his face, but the other was efficiently good at concealing his emotions.

He doesn't know if this was all a play or if Han Min hasn't smiled for a long time.

"Hmm. You don't need to ask me. You can go as you please," He uttered, all while closing his eyes to mumble something So Eun didn't hear.

So Eun proceeded to bite his lips out of habit.

They dined and entered a Temple at this point, fortunately so far, no one had recognized him.

Or maybe it was his penchant for black clothes, and his eerily nonchalant demeanor, that people didn't dare to analyze the man.

So Eun released a sighed and drifted his eyes to the wide road up ahead.

He leaned his weight from one foot to another, deciding earnestly on what to say.

Although Han Min isn't threatening him to obey his orders like any evil being would do.

The man by his side is unbelievably kind, so considerate, that So Eun dreaded to be with him.

Then there was a thought that came to mind, that all evil beings aren't exactly vile and ill-natured.

He still fears his life and dignity as a Deity. But when Han Min willingly let him go, that weird feeling that was lingering swirled again.

He contemplated his choices and promised himself to assist his support when their paths would cross again.

Despite labels and position, So Eun believed that every being deserves kindness.

And perhaps it was the reason they turned evil in the first place, a world devoid of kindness is a world of living in hell.

The sun had long been bathing in the sea of clouds, and the atmosphere wasn't near as humid anymore, so when the gushing winds made their robes sway in the air, So Eun placed both hands on his back and smiled at him.

"Don't worry, I am not running away from you. I will just check things out." He tried to reason, but it was mainly the truth.

"Oh, you can call me whenever you need help! Because I owe you my life after all, Hehe."

Warmth spread through his insides when Han Min looked him in the eye.

It wasn't great a significance, but So Eun realized that Yun Hwa was right--maybe he's not a bad person at all.

So he started to step backward and continued to wave at the man watching him.

With a sudden act of courage to say his thoughts without thinking of the consequences, So Eun blurted out, "We will meet again!"

He sent him his last smile and turned his back, feeling a little lighter than before.

Although it hasn't been sinking in that he made a friend out of a Demon King, he still beamed and laughed at the thought.

On the other side, Han Min didn't move an inch, he only watched the person sauntering his way forward, putting on a large distance between them.

Despite the figure slowly disappearing from the crowd, unwittingly, a soft smile had formed on his face, until So Eun was out of sight.

"We will meet again."
