Starting to Bloom

From then on, Jaebin went out of his wits and kneeled to a ghoul, attempting to stare him directly in the eye.

Perhaps So Eun wasn't the only one in awe.

Jaebin's brother had noticed his gesture, but his focus is solely on the child. His eyes also gaping wide at the mere sight.

"This... You didn't lie." Yeonbin spoke in astonishment. Earning a smirk from his brother.

"When did I lie to you?" He returned, with a smug conveying on his face.

Yeonbin went silent at that, supposing he could've thrown a witty remark like their usual occurrence, but the Deity raises his hand instead.

Moving forward to grasp the dazzling glow of the soul-spirit.

But unlike ghosts who have their form in the flesh, this soul-spirit couldn't be touched nor reached with any stretch of his hand.

The ghoul child was bound to a spiritual guarding, and that could only be opened by Deities themselves, when Yeonbin made a move to transfer them into his dreamy state, the sleeping child bear his true appearance, his real incorporate body that transcends even in his days of living and dead had emerged.

His spiritual form that was standing is unblemished of cuts and wounds, a flawless dead soul that had turned into a ghoul, was nearly impossible.

But possible nonetheless.

That's why the brothers are in great disbelief.

"We had planned to enter his lucid dream, but this kid has other plans, backfiring us into coming out instead," Jaebin commented, his eyes firmly watching his brother's hand.

Yeonbin continued to try, the words of his brother became mumbling to him, and he didn't stop when the ghoul child still hasn't opened its eyes.

"You're waking him up? Better ways are to speak and ask him questions right here, you know."

Jaebin suggested, realizing that kneeling in front of a ghoul was outrageous. So he stood up awkwardly and couldn't help to glance at So Eun far away behind them.

So Eun wasn't paying attention to both of them.

He was stuck on his foothold the moment the spirit appeared in shining gemstones, solemnly studying his whole features.

"He still wouldn't answer anything, even if he came out for us." Thus Yeonbin decided to wake him, hands reaching carefully to his head.

The glimmering body of the child never reacts, but it cost him to sharp strike his fingers that were planning to hold the spirit's head.

The hit wasn't anything major because it never showed itself to Yeonbin, and it was small as a thin needle compared to his lightning bolts.

However, the effect was tremendous.

Yeonbin felt like his whole hand was slashed by a blade and immediately withdraw.

His figure suddenly jerked, he became alarmed right then, and efficiently covers it with a gasp of pain.

"The hell?!" So Eun and Jaebin clearly saw how he wince and pull back almost instantly.

Then his brother shoved him backward while shouting, "See? I told you!"

"He was asleep, but his unconscious mind is still awake!" Jaebin chided, replacing himself in his brother's position.

"What?! You have a suggestive plan?" The other retorted, not at all satisfied with how it turned out.

Jaebin pressed his two palms together and focused his eyes on the sleeping child.

"I should try again to enter inside his dream, who knows if you solely failed just to see his real form." He mumbled but was enough for his brother to hear the disdain tone of his voice.

That causes an uproar from the other Deity.

"What are you implying?! You think this ghoul child's spirit will do me a good reason to exploit?"

So Eun had never thought of that, but he considers it somehow.

The child was in fact still asleep, his eyes closed and face fronting forward, looking at him showed his naive and clear expression which infuriates Jaebin somehow.

And leads him to do things to his own capability.

He had suppressed his spiritual powers in the palm of his hand, trying to connect further into the spirit using his core alone.

Yet it never happened. And Jaebin was surprisingly enraged than before.

He had stepped forward even before So Eun and Yeonbin had stopped him.

And to no avail, the same thing happens to him, he aims to force himself towards the dream state but was plunged back by the blinding lights--which indicates to be the ghoul child's immense life and death energy.

His life and death essence as a Ghoul living in the mortal world resulted in that matter.

Compared to Yeonbin, Jaebin suffered his back hitting the ground and hands bleeding with cuts and splinters.
