The first war.

The following morning, after Peter, Claire and Alice, were ready to leave, Queen Alpha stopped them.

"There has been a change of plan", she said.

"What do you mean?" Peter asked.

"We have deemed it dangerous, to send the power of the former demon Lord into hostile territory", Queen dimitrius said, walking out from the castle, into the courtyard were Peter, Claire, Alice and Queen Alpha were.

"Dangerous?" Peter asked, looking confused.

"Yes Peter, dangerous," Queen Dimitrias said.

"It would be quite foolish, to go back to hostile territory Peter," Queen Alpha said.

At this point, Peter was both confused and angry, he had traveled alongside his friends, and fought dangerous adversaries, so why should a group of people he just met, be telling what to do.

"I will decide where I go," he said.

"You're making it sound like an option child," Queen Aselia said, as she joined them. "Had it been up to me, I'd I've put you on limiters and you imprisoned".

"What's the meaning of this?" Peter snapped, and immediately, he began to emit the dark aura of the demon lord's power.

"Calm down Peter," Alice said, grabbing his hand. "They're right Peter, the power inside you is key to winning this war".

—"And we can't just jeopardize this key, by sending you on a mission as dangerous as this," Claire said.

"So I should just let you guys, deal with this by yourselves?" Peter asked.

"We're not by ourselves Peter, we'll be joining Mrs. Burton," Claire said.

"Mom?" Peter asked, looking confused.

"Yes Peter, I was going to tell you," Alice said. "Melwise showed us a device last night, it's been tracking mom's location since she was last here".

"What do you mean?" Peter asked Alice.

"You see Peter, when Sarah was last here, we would usually go on dangerous adventures, and on one of those adventures, we gave each other a scar, that we used to track each other, in case any of us got in trouble. So last night I had a vision of her, and she was with some other women, in a school," Melwise said.

"It means she's back in the human world, Peter," Alice said excitedly, "And at Nazaire to be precise."

Peter immediately got weak in the knees, as he was relieved of the burden of her whereabouts.

"That's great news!" Peter said.

"And that's why we'll be fine on our own", Claire said

"And don't forget, I'm a better magic caster than you are", Alice said, smiling.

Peter, after hearing the new information, decided to stay back at the castle. Shortly after their conversation, Queen Alpha opened a portal to the human world, then Claire and Alice left.

"Come Peter, I'm sure you haven't had anything to eat yet" Queen Dimitrias said, and they both left.

"It seems Dimitrias has a soft spot for the boy", Queen Alpha said.

"It disgusts me!" Queen Aselia snapped

After Peter had eaten that morning, Queen Dimitrias took him on a tour of the castle.

"We've been so caught up with the current situation, that i forget to mention how beautiful the castle is", Peter said, with his eyes wandering over the interior of the castle.

From the walls, to the velvet carpet floor, to the complex structures of the ceiling.

"This castle has stood since after the first great war", she said, as they continued the stroll, down the hallway

"There was a war?" Peter asked in surprise.

"Yes Peter, the war that ultimately brought about the separation of the three realms.

"What caused the war?"

"The three races lived together in peace, in a realm called: Qui bus - omnia or the hude-el, until the demons and humans had a great argument," she said.

Peter was already so focused, he didn't see a castle maid coming, and he hit her on the shoulders.

"My apologies", Peter said, but the maid wasn't too pleased with him or his apology, so she didn't respond. She just glared at him and walked away.

Peter too, didn't give much attention to her, he was more concerned about what Queen Dimitrias was saying.

"What caused the dispute?" he asked.

"The humans cheated the demon race. They had an agreement to exchange knowledge of the kind of magic they possessed, but the humans knew that that the demon realm couldn't perform their type of magic, but went ahead to make the deal anyway".

"What was their end game?" Peter asked.

"So they could be superior to the demons," she said. "I'm sure you know the demon race are the strongest. The humans weren't comfortable with the idea that they had to be subject to a higher power, as the case was.

—"So they made attempts, to combine their magic and that of the demon race to wage a war against them, a war they knew they would win, if their plan succeeded".

"The humans, did they succeed?"

"No they didn't," she said.

After they had walked for quite some time, they got to a door, along the hall way.

The door was made of glass, but the glass was near impenetrable. She waved her hand and the glass door made a large creak, and it opened.

"What room is this?" Peter asked, and from within the room, he heard a voice of a woman.

"This is the room of past Queens," she said. "It houses the different Queens to have walked the realms".

"I didn't expect to find you here, Davina", Queen Dimitria

s said.

"It's been quite a while i visited here, i just thought I'd come and clean the place".

"Why don't you allow your workers to help you", Peter asked.

"No one is allowed in here, I'm quite surprised. She's brought you here," she said calmly, but gave Queen Dimitrias a cold stare.

"He's not just anybody", Queen Dimitrias said, "he's going to change the course of history".

Queen Dimitrias and Peter after their short talk with Queen Davina, left into the room. As they advanced, Peter saw the statue of a woman with wings holding a long staff.

"Who's this?" he asked.

"Queen Dimitrias the 8th", she replied. "She was a great warrior, very skilled with the sword but her magic wasn't the greatest. She could still cause havoc though, if she decided"

"How come you know her if you never got to meet her?" Peter asked.

"You see Peter, when ever the power of a Queen goes to a successor, the successor, goes on to have the memories of all the previous Queens" she replied.

"That means you have the memory of Queens Dimitrias the 4th?"

"Precisely Peter, but i can only possess the memories of my previous selfs. I cannot peer into the memories of another Queen". she said.

"I somehow feel the same", Peter said.

"What do you mean?", she asked.

"Since i got the power of the demon Lord, i always had nightmares, Mrs Burton and Elena a human druid, helped suppress them, but on some nights I still have them. During my nightmares, I sometimes see glimpses of some people I've never seen before, and one time, I think I saw my real mother," Peter said. "But why are the human race different from the other races?".

"Of all the three realms, the human world produced more nomags, as punishment for their conspiracy. Those nomags formed a different world from that of the magic users and to avoid conflict, the magic users had to hide their world," Queen Dimitrias said.

They continued to walk further, till they got to the section of the very large room, where the first Queens were kept.

"From the inscription, it says these were the first Queens," Peter said.

"Yes Peter, they are," she said. "It was during their time The Hude-el was divided".

"Which means they took part in the war?"

"Yes they did. The Angels led them to war against Kengrath and his demons," she said, as she walked over to the statue of Queen Dimitrias the first.

"Who's Kengrath?" Peter asked.

"He was the demon lord of that time," she replied. "He was known to be one of the most generous Demon lords, before the great war".

"That means there were demon lords before him?"

"Yes Peter, they were. They were the strongest race, so they ruled Quibus-Omnia, but there was a council too, that oversaw things, ruling side by side with the demon lord. It consisted of only humans and angels," she said.

"What made Kengrath change?" Peter asked, closely observing the statue of Queen Aselia the first.

"He was able to use the human's magic because of his enormous power, but when he tried it on his sick son, the boy turned into a monster. It acted negatively and it created the first chimera".

As Queen Dimitrias spoke, the thoughts of Professor Hugo, came into his mind.

"In fury, Kengrath used the first flaming dragon spell and burnt down a large portion of the human settlement".

She walked to the statue of Queen Acesia and began to run her fingers on the bright stony sword it was holding.

"It was Queen Acesia who led the first charge against Kengrath and his forces," she said.

"It's quite hard to understand why the humans would do what they did", Peter said, "It's not like the Demon Lord was a tyrant?".

"That's right Peter, its quite difficult to understand, why the humans would just do what they did without provocation or anything?"

"I guess its just human nature, we're a very smart race, but our smartness isn't enough to surpress what we truely are". Peter said.

"But you're not like them Peter," Queen Dimitrias said smiling, as she walked over to peter.

"Why do you think so?" he asked, as he sat on the pedestal of the statue.

"You've had that power for quite a long time. At first, you didn't know of it, but even when you did, you didn't allow it to consume or intoxicate you".

"Well, what can i say, my mother left me in hands of really good people" Peter said. "Who's that?" he asked pointing to one of the statues.

"That's Queen Domino", she said. "She's the holder of the eternal flame".

"How did she help in the war?" Peter asked.

"The first charge which was led by Queen Acesia, was subdued, and Queen Acesia, was captured by Kengrath. It was a forbidden affair amongst the council of Queens, when they put together the council, but Queen Domino was in love with Queen Acesia.

When she found out she had been captured, she turned a whole mountain into fire, and it melted and flowed into the valley of Anglastes. It was a demon settlement.

The valley burned and there were no survivors. It was a great massacre".

"Did she rescue Queen Acesia?" Peter asked, staring intently at Queen Dimitrias.

"She did, but she had to cross many lines to do it", Queen Dimitrias said. "Love is the strongest force in all the realms but its a dangerous thing too. Once a person is motivated by love, they see no boundaries, they are unable to tell apart right from wrong. It's almost like they become blind".

"And that was the case of Queen Domino the first?". he asked.

"Yes, it was. She tore down a large portion of the human settlement and after the war, the ground under the human settlements, began to shift", she said, "She even tried fighting Kengrath herself, when she had finally fought her way to the castle ".

"Why didn't you guys join her?"

"If we joined her, we'd have had to fight the human race too, and they were the race we were protecting"

"Then why not restrain her, or imprison her?"

"It was forbidden to fight our selves". Queen Dimitrias said.

"We had no choice, but to watch her tear down the Quibus-Omnia"

"that means, she did more damage than the human race she destroyed, Kengrath almost completely obliterate the human settlement" she said. "With time stones, hail stones, fire and he even summoned monsters from the dark dimension, into the human world, to run not".

"If she couldn't beat Kengrath, how did she get Queen Acesia?" Peter asked.

"She didn't, we did", Queen Dimitrias said. "While she was causing havoc, Queen Alpha, Queen Alcina and Queen Davina, sneaked into the demon Lord's castle and freed her but it was at a cost. The spell that allowed them go undetected in the demon Lord's castle, was a high level spell and it was cast by Queen Aselia, and after they returned, she died".

"That's truly sad, but where were you, during the rescue?".

"I was the one leading our army for the second charge at the Northside of Quibus-omnia. "I didn't see any of them for over a year".

"Human greed caused the war, and you all lost valuable things and people. I don't want that to happen again". Peter said.

"War is inevitable Peter, you should be hoping that this current war, ends quickly, or else the connection to the three dimensions, might just be permanently broken", Queen Dimitrias said.

"I do hope it ends quickly, but honestly speaking, it should, since we have the upper hand. The demon Lord's power and the power of the council of Queens", Peter said.

"I guess we'll just have to see how it all goes then", she said, smiling at him.

"I also want to ask, how did the war finally end?"

Queen Dimitrias, who was now walking with Peter, out of the room, took a pause, and after a short moment, she continued walking.

"I guess something big must've happen, to make the war end", Peter said, stealing glances of Queen Dimitrias from the corner of his eye.

"It's not something we as Queens talk about, Peter", she said".

"It's already very late, I'd advice you get some sleep".

Queen Dimitrias left Peter just a few feet from the door of the roon, and retired to her quarters.
