1 Prologue

"She is your ex, right ?"I flew the tip of the pen away from my lips and transferred my attention to him.

"Umm..yeah" his eyes rolled along with a lift in his brows.

Could ever compare a well-fit guy half-naked standing on a dusk beach, flashing a million-dollar grin with a guy sexily dressed within the bounds of a plain white shirt underneath a black blazer decorated with an equally matching tie?

Can you choose? Hard, right. Imagine. Okay don't imagine, that's probably too hard or hot?

Well, I can choose. Talent!

I would choose the sexily dressed one. Why?— Cause that's too hot not to strip off.

Woah, that was Sexy. I shook my head, better not start drooling. Concentrate!

Okay, another reason? —cause he was standing just in front of me.

"That's amazing!" I stood from my seat and marked my way to him, then putting my palms on his shoulder. I flashed him the most beautiful grin, or maybe too beautiful for him to feel disgusted.

"What ?"He looked at me, his long lashes hiding his nervous pupils.

"Why don't you try getting back ?" said the Evil inside me.

"Wait, you mad ?~"

I turned my body to the office staff, ignoring his cursing tongue. "So here's the plan"

So before you pre assume me to be a sex-seeking maniac, let me assure you. I didn't molest him or anyone— yet. He's not my type anyway.

let me take you 24 hours back to have a better understanding of the messy future that awaits me —us.

24 hours back

He looks rather serious.

I slid the middle of my glasses with the tip of my finger and scanned his figure from the top to the bottom. Wearing a black blazer beneath a white shirt and dark pants.

Quite classy. Not bad. I thought. I'm not quite a fan of classy guys—they rather look too serious to have fun.

Pushing my curved spine in and I took a breath, correcting my posture. Usually, the interns that come to our company as a result of some partnership with the local colleges, come out to be all nerds.

Especially in the entertainment department, as if they are already short of entertainment. I often get the world's 8th monument type of people, responsible, truthful, committed to their work —all the antonyms of that.

They are so committed and serious about their work that the last time when I asked an intern to get me a cup of cappuccino, he literally got me one— a CUP of cappuccino.

Well, that may have been a prank that somehow happened to be in front of the whole meeting staff, when everyone was laughing while I kept apologizing for spilling a cup that at the end happens to be empty.

I was clearly ready to go to prison for killing a person.

I could have thrown him out of the company but interns aren't normal employees, so can't really fire them. Nor that I was in a position to do so. I may be the department head, I still wasn't allowed to fire people, so keep on writing useless complaint letters to the authorities(which are very boring by the way).

And now I'm wondering he has left to show me.

"Hello, I'm Ethan Collins "

The glasses on my eyes slid down my nose bridge while I moved my hand forward for a handshake.

"Hi" lifting the frame of my glasses with my index finger, I spoke "So you are the new intern... anyway I'm your in charge, Jane Miller "I smiled, maintaining the handshake "You can move out to find my assistant Carly, will tell you the details of the work we'll be doing"

And soon he left my cabinet. Simple right? It's not that simple.

The evening was going to be a celebration. After going through so many troubles Rose was finally together with Ryan and the evening was a way of celebrating to which Josh, our company's photographer, and I both were invited.

I gave a final touch-up to the lipstick and marked my entry into the club. The crimson material of the dress glued to my hips swung along with my every move. Rose and Ryan sat in the middle of the couch while Josh sat next to Willam. Josh was a part of our friendship triangle and had got a new boyfriend.

Inside the club, the music was rocking, the disco lights were dim and as soon as I went close Ryan and Rose started kissing.

Their hands grabbing on one another, Rose hovered over Ryan with such a hunger that I wondered if her stomach would be too full to even eat later.

Woah, when did she become so daring?

Laughter let out from my mouth while I wondered if their honeymoon phase was going to last forever.

Seeing Rose and Ryan kiss, Josh and William too started their lip fight.

"Woah, you're seriously killing this single, right now" I finally sat to join Josh and William's team who still couldn't stop kissing.

"Come on, stop," I said half laughing.

"You should get a boyfriend too," Rose chuckled.

"So you can join our kissing squad" completed Josh, finally parting off his lips from William.

Drinks made their way to our table, and we all did a toss before gulping them down and asking for more.

"So, how's your intern ?" Asked Josh. "I just saw him today, he looks quite attractive "William patted on his thigh "Why don't you try dating him ?"Josh continued clarifying William's move.

"He is quite classy....not particularly my type," I said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Then what's your current type ?"Chuckled Rose. She asked as if I'm often changing my type. Though I did change my bias from Shawn Mendes to Harry Styles, as soon as he began dating— that was different. Right?

Lifting the glass of Tequila,( I had decided to ignore her emphasis on current) I elegantly took a shot, then gulping the mix inside, I finally spoke "Hmm...my type" my eyes scanned across the bar as if searching for someone already "Is someone ~" Before I could say anything further my eyes fell on a piece of man.

Perfect jaw, gray eyes, pink lips, and hairs slightly longer. He was wearing a grey T-shirt under a black leather jacket with his lower body covered in black denim.

Hot?—check, sexy?— Check, adventures? —with his physique, looks quite sporty, so check. flirty, and humorous? —the way he was letting the waitress lead him on, I'm guessing that too, check.

He is my type. Totally my type.

"I got it" My eyes shimmering with glitter. "I'll be right back" Passing my glass to Josh, I flung my way to him.

"I guess, then she ain't coming back" I heard Rose chuckle in the back of my ear, but was too busy to react.

Anyway, she might be right though.

" Two shots of Tequila, please" I knocked my forefinger on the counter, grabbing the attention of the waitress and the guy. The waitress didn't seem to like my interruption, but who cares.

Play it cool, Jane. come on you got this. I pretended to wait for my order.

Damn! He is scanning me out.

Waving my hair with my finger, I passed him a sexy smile. On my god, he smiled back.

Again waving my flex back, I turned to look at the counter. Cursing the waitress for coming back so fast, I bid my thanks and took on the two shots.

Come on, stop me from going.

"Hey!!"

Finally, Yes me !!! I flipped the axis, vanishing my idiotic grin. "Yeah ?"

"Are you with someone ?"

My eyes automatically fell over Rose's table and ignoring their laughing faces, I prompted my answer "Not really...umm ...Why?" My lips automatically lifted up.

"No just wondering if you need some company" He lifted his shots and grinned.

Letting out a chuckle I spoke "That would be nice....by the way, I'm Jane, Jane Miller"

"I'm Mark Gray," His brow lifted.

"Gray!?" I couldn't help but repeat his surname with what I believe was an extremely idiotic expression.

"Not that fifty shades one, Mark, Mark Gray"

He reassured, making both of us chuckle.

"But I can pretend if you want" His grin was slow but meaningful. Grabbing one of my shots, he pointed at the table "How's that one ?"

I nodded and smiled.

"So are you gonna drink both?" He asked while pulling a chair for me.

Quite a gentleman.

I was snatched from my fantasies with the knock on the table. Lifting my gaze I finally pulled my mind together to answer "Umm...yeah, I quite a heavy drinker"

Stupid, I should have ordered one.

He chuckled.

See, I was right he is humorous.

The conversation was going fine but before I could ask for his number.

Okay, I was waiting for him to ask for MY number.

He got a call, and he took his ass off on an urgent matter. Which I assume it was.

I looked around then the table and then got back to the counter. "2 shots please"

The waitress again gave me a devil look as if I have snatched her chick. She was wearing a fitted top with a pencil skirt that barely hid her hip. Her pink lipstick grabbing the attention of the lights were as she striking my eyes.

Ignoring her gaze I finally gulped the shots and walked my way to the dance floor.

I don't clearly remember when I actually got drunk. But what I do remember was the fact that I did get drunk, which I wish I shouldn't have.

"Hello ...Police station?"
