LIMITED WORK

David was surprised when he found Liliana had come and sat down at her desk. The beautiful girl seemed to be working on some reports that David had asked before they went to Kupang.

"Are you healthy, Li?"David asked carefully. He didn't want to take any chances if Liliana would do something to embarrass him. Although David knew that Liliana could not be desperate, but the girl's attitude would definitely change.

"Yes, Sir. Thank you, " Liliana replied flatly. David saw that the girl's eyes were still very puffy. He felt deeply sorry for what he had done to the girl.

Not wanting to linger staring at the pain in Liliana's face,David immediately went into his office. However, instead of working, he thought of Liliana and also a serious chat with Nadine last night. David didn't know what would happen if their parents knew that one of them was barren.

For a long time, his mother had often asked when they would give grandchildren. But, all he can give as an answer is a word of patience and a smile. David took a deep breath. If only he was not barren and could give offspring. Maybe he's already looking for a woman he wants to pay for his seed.

David threw his body on a chair, for some reason when he saw Liliana's gaze he felt so guilty. But when he did, he didn't care about her. What demon possessed him yesterday?

Suddenly there was a knock on the door that made David wake up from his seagrass. The man immediately sat down firmly and pretended to be working on something on his laptop.

"Come in!"he exclaimed. Soon Liliana came in with the report file and placed it on David's table.

"It's all done, sir. Just sign it."

"Wait a minute!"David exclaimed when he saw Liliana turn around and was about to step out. Liliana stopped her steps, for a moment she felt panic. To be honest, she was still afraid to meet David. What David did to her left her with deep wounds and trauma.

Slowly, Liliana turned her body. She saw David still sitting behind his desk. The girl involuntarily rewind her steps.

"Don't be afraid, sit down first," David said as if reading Liliana's mind. For a while Liliana just remained silent until she stepped up and sat on a chair.

"A-what's up, Sir?"

"I know an apology is not enough. But, I'm sorry for what I did to you. My wife said yesterday that you almost killed your own life. I feel very guilty. Please tell me with what I have to make up for it?"

Liliana lowered her head while shaking her head, then softly said, " it is enough to be responsible if something happens to me."

"You won't be pregnant, Lilian. Two years ago, I was already declared barren," replied David. Liliana slowly raised her face, wanting it to feel like she was screaming if David wasn't barren. But, the girl is still sane enough not to open Nadine's secret.

"That was two years ago, Sir. We don't know what happens tomorrow and the next day. You can do a re-examination at different doctors and hospitals. Sorry, Sir. I don't think I need to talk about it anymore, I'll excuse myself. In an hour, you have a meeting to attend."

Without waiting any longer, Liliana rushed up and stepped out in a hurry.
