Chapter 10: Flashback (PT:9) : Rules

"I was mentally drained out at that time so I didn't enquire or anything. We just spoke a few words about my school and I ran upstairs. That day all I could think about was Marcus trying to kiss me. I couldn't get that off my head. Next day new pair of clothes were kept on the desk with a small note.

it said

wear this to school today. I bet it looks nice on you

He got new clothes for me , I was freaking out. It was a pair of pink top and blue jeans."

"That's so nice of him" Darcy said staring at the ceiling.

"Yea I know" I smiled. Marcus did a lot for me to be honest.

"When I asked him when did Me and Marcus boarded the same bus and made it to the school in time. During breaks we managed to catch up with eachother and talk for a while, that's when Parker showed up. We both ignroend him like he never existed. He then grabbed hold of my hand.

"let go" Marcus yelled and grabbed my hand from his grip.

"Who are you to give me orders" Parker yelled back.

"Who are you to touch my girlfriend" Marcus grabbed his collar.

I ordered them to drop the fight as I slipped through them. Marcus and Parker exchanged angry looks. I doubt if they get along. Then Parker said something that haunts me even now.

"she's my girlfriend ,she's cheating on you" Parker said.

Marcus looked at me eyes wide ,his eyes searching for answers.

"he's lying right?" He asked me.

"Ofcourse he is" I screamed.

"Who's lying here , you or I . You cheated on me Jenny".

I was attached to Marcus at that time. This Parker came in and ruined it all.

"Parker just go"

"what do you mean?" Marcus seemed more interested in Parker.

"Marcus she's dating me and you at the same time, You kissed me yesterday Jenny to you remember ?" Parker asked.

I was shocked like when did this happen"

"Wait a minute"Darcy interrupted "Did you really do that ?"

"No , Darcy ugh!" I rolled my eyes "He lied, He created a drama and somehow convinced Marcus that I was dating Parker and I'm using Marcus. Marcus didn't seem furious or anything he looked extremely sad. No matter what I said to argue he didn't listen. His last words were

"I should've known , that's why you didn't let me touch you right Jenny?" Then he walked away.

Right after that Parker wrapped his arm around my shoulder "let's go babe" he said. I pushed him away and walked the opposite way. Since then he kept searching for me and kept calling my name and telling me "I love you babe" in front of the whole school. Marcus didn't bother to even look at me. He occupied himself with studies and projects. Whenever I tried to talk to him he'd turn his head or just walk away. He never spoke a word after that incident. that very same day I cried too much that my swollen eyes melted my mother's heart. She didn't scold me or anything, she just made it clear that if I don't make it to the bus in time I'd get punished. I didn't face any punishments ,ofcourse! I didn't because there's no one I roam around with a lot after that incident. I miss Marcus even now. His company was great."

"Baby girl listen , I don't think Marcus was a good choice" Darcy gave me a deep look.

"why do you think so ?"

"well , he didn't trust you how is he a perfect boyfriend ?"

"that's true but....."

"don't overthink baby girl , it's for your own good this happened. A guy who doesn't trut his girl can treat her horribly in the future. Imagine you will be restricted from so many things once you get married right ?"

"baby girl huh ? that's so cute Darcy"

She laughed.

"Then Parker said he never intended to break up with me , he friend zoned me thinking that id get back in a relationship with him later. I asked him if I was some kind of use and throw material. He said no that's not it , he wanted to focus in studies and he didn't want to loose his friends now he's realised that I'm more important than his friends anyway and he wants be back. I said Parker that he lied to Marcus . He said he was despirate and he didn't know any other way to break out relationship. He said he loved me too much to loose me. He said he knew he was selfish and everything but it was for me."

"I don't think he loves you , obsession and selfishness is not a sign of love" Darcy interrupted.

"I.. feel the same"

"no matter how handsome he looks , his character is bad, I don't like him"

"Darcy ... I'm left with no option but to date him"

"why is that ?"

"Well .... I told him to leave me alone and he said he can't. I told him he has to follow certain rules if he wants to date me. He said he'd do anything for me. the rules were.

1) He should not lie when it comes to me and be open with me.

2) He shouldn't speak to other girls more than he speaks to me.

3) He should text me often and keep me updated with everything.

4) He should give more importance to me than his friends.

He said he'd follow these and he managed to. But as days passed he wasn't able to keep up with the second rule and the fourth rule. He'd go out to gaming centres with his friends and would ignore my calls. Then when he attends the call he would say he's watching series on Inflix. I added two more rules to the list after that.

5) He should stop playing games.

6) He should stop watching series.

He slowly forgot about the rules. Then I said I wanted to break up with him. He said there's no way he's going to let me do it. He threatend me that he'd do the same thing what he did to Marcus but this time he challenged me with something...."
