King Francis led the charge, shouting "Attack!" as his armored cavalry galloped forward with couched lances. However, his horsemen inadvertently blocked the cannon, preventing it from firing on the enemy.

The Spanish arquebusiers took advantage of the fog-shrouded battlefield, firing at the French cavalry with deadly accuracy.

"Aim! Fire!" echoed through the fog, followed by the relentless banging of arquebuses.

'Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!'

"Reload!" the commander shouted.

Brianne Edwards, a pikeman in the king's army, hurled his pike through the fog. It soared through the air, striking a Spanish arquebusier and killing him instantly.

As Brianne rode his horse into the fog, it began to clear, revealing thousands of enemy soldiers pointing their arquebuses at him, knowing he's in danger, he jumped on the riderless horse few inches away from him, and bent down from the horse to pick the pike of one of the fallen soldiers.

With his keen eyes, he spotted the Spanish captain and took aim with his pike. But just as he threw it, a soldier jumped in front of the captain, sacrificing himself to save his commander. The pike strikes the soldier, sending him sprawling on the ground. He struggled to rise, but couldn't.

The captain, enraged by his son's death, snatched an arquebus from one of his soldiers, and with an outstanding accuracy shot Brianne, who tried to evade but was struck by several bullets. As he fell off his horse, he saw King Francis charging relentlessly at the enemies.

"Retreat! The King has been captured!" the French commander shouted, and the French army fled in disarray. Brianne, wounded and struggling to breathe, collapsed on the ground, his vision blurring.

"Retreat!"

That was the last thing he heard before lapsing into unconsciousness.

The war ended with the Spanish winning and capturing the French's king, Francis I.

He flinched awake later with excruciating pain, blood oozed out of his gunshot wounds each time he breathed. He coughed and laid his back against the rock nearby, covered in his own blood.

Surrounded by dead soldiers and illuminated by the crescent moon and stars. It was night already, around 8pm. With great effort he called out for help but no one came.

Just as he thought all hope was gone, a strong wind blew toward him from above. He raised up his head and saw a humanoid figure with wings floating towards him.

"Are you here to take me, Angel?" Brianne asked, his voice weak.

The creature descended and approached him. It flapped and folded its featherless wings, its gaze fixed on the helpless human in front of it.

"Are you willing to do anything if I save your life, human?"

"What the hell are you?" Brianne asked after taking a closer look at the creature.

"I'm Vat, an Anthropter from the kingdom of Perebia on the planet Noan. Now answer me, human. Are you willing to do anything if I save your life?"
