Chapter 43

Chapter 43: The Last Olympian.

The Last Olympian. The Goddess of the Hearth, Hestia.

She told Percy that she was always the last defense because the home is where the heart resides.

And that was true even for now. Out of the Hearth in the middle of the Throne Room a little girl emerged.

She wore a sundress and had auburn hair to accompany her youthful appearance. She was the complete opposite of Marcus who was as gloomy as oen could be.

They were stark contrast, if she was the warm sunlight of the day then Marcus is like the cold and shivering wind of the night.

"Child. You have been through some suffering. A home is where one heals, this is my home, I welcome you here." She greeted Marcus in a gentle greeting accompanying it with a warm smile.

For the first time in a while Marcus felt some light in his dark world but as soon as it came, it also disappeared.

He was too deep into it that any light that would try to pull him out of the pits would only affect him momentarily before disappearing again.

"I accept your warm welcome but I'm afraid what would follow would not be to your appreciation." Marcus replied.

Then he looked at the direction where the Hudson River is and stepped forward. Immediately after he disappeared from his place and turned into a lightning bolt that darted through the sky.

The gods were exhausted from the fight of Typhon, they put all of their efforts but the latter was just that of a monster. A catastrophy they would never want to face again, the Olympians would've lost if it weren't for Poseidon. Thank heaven Poseidon came in time.

Though his underwater castle was left undefended, Poseidon still risked it because thankfully Percy managed to convince him. Together with his aquatic army and his Cyclopes army he fought alongside the Olympians.

Typhon was sealed back to Tartarus with the help of the Cyclopes and the battle came to an end, or so they thought, they thought the battle was over and they could go back home victorious.

But reality is like a fickle bitch. A thunder the size of the Empire State Building fell on them and struck all of them.

Some Olympian like Apollo, Artemis and Hermes were taken out immediately by the surprise attack while the lucky ones who were fortunate enough to survive were left injured with only Poseidon being the only one to sustain minimal injury.

"HOHOHO! Olympians have you missed me?" A boisterous laughter emerged from the thundering sky.

"Susanoo?" Zeus exclaimed in surprise.

"In the flesh." The other replied with a smug face.

"What is your meddling ass doing here, fake thunder?" Zeus ridiculed and sneered at the latter, calling him by the title fake thunder.

That was what he calls Susanoo during the Great War, Fake Thunder. Zeus is prideful and egotistical, he would not let anyone hold the title of the Lightning Lord other than himself. So knowing that Susanoo was a lightning god too, he called the latter by the insulting nickname Fake Thunder.

Susanoo put on a facade and said. "What else am I here for? I'm here to give you my warm greetings of course HAHAHAHAHA!" Then without much further ado he attacked Zeus with his sword.

He knew all of them were exhausted and he was not stupid enough to let go of that advantage. Talking to them more would give them time to recover so he didn't waste time talking and immediately attacked them.

With his unsheathed sword, he swung it and from the tip of his blade pure destruction sprung out. Zeus immediately brought up his lightning bolt and hurled it trying to intercept Susanoo's thunder arc.

But his attack failed to stop Susanoo's thunder. He discovered it four years ago but he noticed that the master bolt was weaker than usual. He didn't exactly know the exact and precise prowess of the Masterbolt since he didn't experiment much. (Cause you know he's too arrogant and lax. I mean the Master bolt was literally stolen right under his nose by Luke.)

So with the weakened Master Bolt Zeus failed to face Susanoo's thunder arc. But that exchange won't decide the entire battle, immediately after he dodged the thunder arc and hurled his bolt again at Susanoo which the latter dodged with speed.

The sky lit up from their attacks and the air shook. Suddenly the river beneath them, the Hudson River, rose up and slammed against Susanoo who was caught off guard.

Ares didn't let this chance go and attacked with his flaming sword. The sword almost reached Susanoo but it seems that Ares forgot that Susanoo is a swordsman too, maybe even the greatest swordsman in the entire Japanese Pantheon. So his sword attack was nullified by Susanoo's skillful maneuver.

"Ha! Is this all you got, God of "War!"." Susanoo mocked which got the God of War agitated. The Storm Lord performed a sword dance which sliced the side of Ares making the latter roar in pain.

Poseidon didn't let this chance go and once again sent the river beneath him flying towards Susanoo. The sheer quantity of the river was so humongous that Susanoo failed to defend against it with his sword.

"Hap!" Riding his chariot Zeus hurled his bolt again at Susanoo but this time he succeeded and got the latter wounded with his Lightning Bolt strike.

Susanoo rose up from his crash and commanded the cloud beneath him to head forward once again. The three Gods, Ares, Poseidon, and Zeus worked together and faced Susanoo's rush.

The four transcended being clashed against each other shaking the earth beneath them and making the air boil. It was like seeing the Apocalypse commence on Earth.

At first it was a stalemate but as time goes on, the Olympian's started to recover and soon the other Gods joined in the freighth.

But suspicious even though Susanoo was in deep disadvantage the latter didn't run away. It was like he was buying time for someone.

Then as if on cue, another thunder appeared but this thunder was not blue. It was a thunder coated in dark.
