15 Chapter 15:

My original plan was tricky which included keeping him alive in a comatose state so that it wouldn't collapse. In the books, Pasiphaë was able to restart the labyrinth but she was the person who helped Daedalus turn this place into a weird magical wonderland and I wasn't willing to risk destroying the place.

"How about letting us stay here. I am sure the place is quite lonely with just a few dozen automatons as company," I suggested using charmspeak to help convince him. He was feeling really comfortable in his domain with all the robots behind him, so I couldn't completely fault him.

Daedalus may be smart, but my powers progressed to a level where willpower isn't really a problem anymore and it required magical defences to block, something that he didn't have on him and he didn't have any mental magic to stop me from fucking up his mind.

I also trained my charmspeak to where I could use it and the people around me couldn't detect it without looking out for it. So he didn't get the bimbo look when I used it on him and had the expression of a common robotic man thing.

The modern children of Hecate weren't really known to mind whammy people, they could but they usually learnt when they are moderately in their teenage years and well, demigods usually don't live very long. So they usually aren't very proficient, so I could see why he wouldn't expect it.

He probably thought I was a child of Ares, Hermes or Athena since I don't advertise the fact that my mother is Aphrodite. It was basically free real estate.

"Is that all? I thought you wanted to apprentice under me." He said while scratching his cheek. "That is usually how this thing goes."

"Sure, I'll take that as well," I said to him. Learning from a two-thousand-year-old polymath seems like the preferable option to just mentally breaking him.

"I would usually refuse but I don't have better things to do and could use some company." He said, succumbing to my powers. "Hmm, and what would the rest of you like."

"I am just along for the ride," Bob said. "Making sure, to not lead these guys astray."

Iliana just shrugged and watched as this played out. She was unsure so she opted to not speak.

"Though, I don't appreciate the army of automatons you sent. It is considered rude to give kill orders to children." I said,

He scoffed. "I had to see if you were worth my time. It wasn't even that bad, I didn't send my best models."

I didn't bother to roll my eyes. It may not be his best model but it was enough to kill the average demigod.

"Though I am impressed that you figured out how to use a clear-sighted mortal to help you navigate the labyrinth." He said and by the expression on his face, I could tell he meant it. "Though, if you want to stay here, you will have to get a room somewhere else in the maze."

I could accept that, but just to make sure. "Deal, though I would appreciate it if you do not attack me again," I said using charmspeak again. I didn't trust him and would make sure to keep using my ability on him so it wouldn't wear off.

Unlike removing memories, this wouldn't last forever. Maybe a few weeks or months depending on the circumstances.

"Yeah, yeah." He said. "If you are going to stay here, I should at least know your names."

We went on to introduce ourselves and that is how our new adventure started. It will probably end when I dried Daedalus of his knowledge.

~~~
Who knew Daedalus was a slavedriver. Though I couldn't complain, I wanted to better myself and just self-hypnotised myself when I wasn't in the mood. My knowledge of how to build things went from only knowing how to build a pc to knowing how to create automatons.
Next, he educated me on the biology of monsters and other creatures, which helped tremendously with my life creation ability. Not only did it reduce my magic power cost but it allowed me to finally create my first monster.
"Who is the cutest. You are Crow." I tell my first monster. It was a raven with the ability to go invisible, reduced scent, and had crazy sharp teeth and deadly claws. He was the perfect stealth killing machine. The best part is that since he is a monster, he is technically immortal. There was no fading here because people don't believe in you but rather because you are suicidal and don't believe in yourself. (A/N: Yes I changed a canon fact. Don't boo me too badly. If some people can genderbend main characters, why can't I change something stupid like this,)
Which was something I could understand. I always thought it was dumb to have gods depend on the worship of mortals for survival and more so since gods existed before humans in this world.
"I can't believe you named that random monster Crow," Iliana said next to me. We were currently back at the house that we stole. We usually return here every other day to get a break from living in a maze. It was currently night and we were just chilling on the porch.
"What was I supposed to call him, XxXDemonBirdXxX. I am not that edgy, Iliana " I replied while stroking Crow's head. "You're just jealous you don't have a cool pet,"
"Well, I am not that good at charm magic." She grumbled. She recently advanced her grimoire enough to have it unlock charm magic and I decided to use it as an opportunity to let her think I unlocked my charmspeak while studying it. "So I can't just tame random monsters."
"Blame genetics, " I tell her before retracting that. "Never mind our parents don't have DNA."
"It does have benefits though."
"Yeah, I really wouldn't appreciate being cloned and no inbreeding is also nice." I said, "Say do mind a game of ping pong before going to bed," I asked. I probably need to talk to my Aphrodite soon. It has been years since I ditched camp, well months but time dilation bullshit is tedious to calculate.
I trust Aphrodite to not expose my small secret to the gods. Whatever misgivings I have about her nightly activities, can't change the fact that she is still a good mom.
Aphrodite Pov:
She spent the day in the spa. It has been months since she heard from her son and she was getting worried. The longest quest that he went on was a month but she doubted this generic quest he went on would take so long.
She even asked a favour from Artemis to look for her son, who probably assigned the task to one of her hunters, but the results weren't promising. Aphrodite was many things, but a good tracker wasn't one of them. If things were as she feared this would be the third child she would lose in the last 5 years. She knew she was a bitch but she was a bitch who cared for her children.
A heart sprouted in the room and she was quick to dismiss the servants. The face of Ezra was in the centre of the rune.
"The prodigal son returns." He said before coughing. "Anyways, I am checking in to inform you that I am still alive but I would appreciate it if you don't mention that tidbit to anyone."
"Why do I look older you ask. Well, that is a potion mishap, but I don't mind it since I look good with stubble.
"Okay onto serious business. I don't believe I will be returning to camp anytime soon, while I don't regret my years there, I don't want to spend my life just doing quests, I want to explore the world and that whole shebang. You may visit me if you wish and my door is always open to my siblings, but I don't enjoy being constrained to the camp any longer."
"I hope you can understand. Best wishes. Ezra." He said before dissipating.
A prerecorded message huh, she wished she could talk back to give him an earful for worrying her. Though she had a smile on her face the entire time, she was just happy he was alive and she could understand his reasons for leaving.
Though her smile diminished when she thought about how she would be able to visit him now when she couldn't even find him for months.
"You can't just tell me to visit you and not give me an address." She complained and as soon as she did, a piece of paper landed on her lap with the location. "Cheeky brat."
