6 Chapter 06: A Godley meeting

I tried to break free from the chains but they were too strong.

"What a surprise! The leader of Titan army himself summon a goddess." Hecate said. Before I could answer her a blue window appeared in front of me.

*Gods are watching.

failure: You will be captured.

"Why did you summon me, boy? And tell me one good reason not to drag you back to Olympus." The Voice of Hecate brought my focus back to her.

"What will you gain from it? Respect from Olympians, Maybe a few thousands of drachma. Then what? your children also joined my army they will be captured and killed by Olympians." I said forming a plan to persuade the goddess.

"Are you threatening me boy?" The flames of the bonfire raised into the air as the heat hit my face.

"Of course not lady Hecate. I am saying even if you hand me to Olympians you have nothing to gain. In their eyes, you are just another minor god. But if you help me, and titans win the war you will be rewarded by them. What I asked is not to side with titans but the blessing to use magic. So even if titans were defeated gods will never know you helped me." I said.

"Very well boy. Let's see if you are telling the truth." Hecate's eyes glowed with a purple light. Suddenly I felt a tingle on my forehead.

[A foreign existence is trying to read your mind.]

[Gamer's mind activated.]

"Interesting, it seems like I can't read your mind. Maybe Kronos did something but it's too different from the power of a titan. It's almost like your own willpower but no mortal ever resists my magic."

"Since you already sacrifice I will give you my blessing. But you must do something for me. One of my children is being haunted by another child of mine. Help him." Hecate said.

"Alright I accept."

[You have received a side quest]

"Then receive my blessing," Hecate said and waved her hand.

"Done"

"Wait that's it," I asked since I didn't feel any difference.

"What did you expect? A transformation like a magical girl." Hecate said with a smug look. Before I could answer her notifications appeared.

[You have received the blessing of Hecate]

"I stayed here too much," Hecate said and waved her hand. This time a weird looking book and a torch appeared.

"This is a spell book for you and torch will lead you to my son. Don't forget your promise Luke Castellan." Hecate said and a dark mist covered her. When the mist disappeared she was gone too.

With that, I was able to relax but a sudden realization hit me. Even after Hecate disappeared I didn't receive a quest complete notification. Suddenly flames of the bonfire flickered revealing a young girl. She looked normal except for her eyes which looked like they were filled with fire. I instantly recognized her. I wondered how she was able to find me maybe it had to do something with her hearth.

"No need to be surprised, child. All sacrifices go through sacred hearth that's how I find you." She said.

"Lady Hestia, how I can owe you the pleasure of this meeting?" I said nervously. With her appearance things get serious. Hestia can be someone who either does anything for her family or someone hides under her gentle self but manipulate everyone.

"Don't be alarmed," Hestia said as a wave of comfort spread over my body. I looked at her, she had a gentle smile on her face. I understood why no one can hate her. A picnic table appeared near us and a picnic basket appeared in her hand.

"Take a seat." She said signing me to sit.

"Want some?" she took out some sandwiches from her basket. I decided to take a bite since if she want to kill me there were a lot of easy ways other than poisoning me. A divine taste spread through my mouth bringing me a distant memory that faded away even before I came to this world.

A woman and a boy sitting at a dining table. Both of them had warm smiles on their faces.

"Come on, son. I made your favorite." The woman said.

"I love you, mom" Boy said and jumped into her hands hugging her tightly.

"I love you too, sweetie." Woman said. Unknown to the boy tears fell from her eyes.

"You are not completely cold as I thought." Hestia's voice brought me back to reality.

"Even after seeing me, your emotions didn't change. Neither fear nor hate. This is the first time you showed some emotion"

"I don't think you came here to give me sandwiches, lady Hestia," I said calming myself.

"Indeed then let's start our discussion seriously," Hestia said shifting into an adult form.
