When it comes to the question of why he needs a Grimoire or preloaded spells despite having the ability to manipulate all forms of magic, the simple answer is my inclination towards efficiency and a desire to skip the laborious details of a training montage or a chapter on Damien learning magic. It's a narrative shortcut born out of my writerly convenience.
As for the topic of romance in the story, it's a possibility that may or may not be explored. The potential romantic interests are set between Thalia, a modified appearance of Clarisse, drawing inspiration from Dior's actor in the TV show, and Silena. These choices provide a range of options should I decide to delve into the romantic aspect of Damien's journey.
In terms of Damien's character stance, he won't be a constant shadow following Percy and his crew. However, depending on how I decide to shape the narrative, there is a chance he may join Percy on his quest for the lightning bolt, though I'll be taking significant deviations from the canonical storyline.
I chose to imbue Damien with not only magical abilities but also enhanced combat mastery and a weapon for the simple reason that not every conflict he encounters necessitates the use of magic. Recognizing the diversity of challenges he may face, having physical combat skills and a weapon allows Damien to navigate situations that require a more hands-on approach. It adds versatility to his character, ensuring he's well-equipped to handle both magical and non-magical confrontations in the unfolding storyline.
Additionally, I am considering incorporating a dimensional travel element into the story if and when it feels necessary to enhance the overall intrigue of the narrative. This potential aspect would serve to introduce new dimensions, alternate realities, or unique challenges, injecting a layer of complexity and excitement into the fic to keep the storyline engaging and unpredictable.
Also regarding POV, I think from a first-person POV so sometimes I mess up if you notice just comment and tell me so I can fix it.
