27 Chapter 26

Percys shirt was stained in tears and snot. After the Claire fiasco Percy decided it was just time to go back to the hotel and train. The meetup time wasn't until tomorrow at noon and there was still plenty of time to polish up and get prepared. Percy returned to the hotel where he messaged Claire. 'I really enjoyed lunch.' After that he had his Pokémon do move training and just did light training. Percy meditated and cylcled his aura in an attempt to strengthen in.

He learned recently he could strengthen his hatchet with aura so it won't damage so easily. When he used aura on one of the Fearows in desperation Percy felt his understanding of his power increased. Before he struggled to make the energy intense enough to knock out. But now he knew that he had to direct his emotions incredibly more intensely.

When he was scratched by the Growlithe for a split second his will caused him to intensely hate the Growlithe. He tried to mirror the emotion when he first left the city again but was unable to come up with the same feeling. When Percy was trying to save the boy he genuinely wished that the Fearow died.

Eventually Percy came to the conclusion that if he wanted to use his power than he would have to direct real, genuine emotions toward his target. This meant he either had to have intense hatred or killing intent or fabricate those emotions into something real. Percy was very bad with emotions so he would have to practice constantly to fabricate genuine emotions. Anybody can fake emotions even Percy, but not a lot of people can make real emotions in themselves.

Percy would have to believe his emotion to make it true which is easier said than done. He started this practice by meditating for several minutes. He cleared off everything on his brain leaving nothing but a blank slate. Then he tried to maintain his blank emotions and thoughts which wasn't easy. Humans are very curious creatures so any form of disturbance can rouse some sort of emotion or curiosity. Wether it was the hotel neighbors being loud or the sound of his Pokémon training anything could throw him off.

Percy was doing well and kept his concentration. Until Jason stepped through the hotel door and he lost his blank slate. The mild curiosity of where Jason had been was enough for Percy to lose his blankness. The emotion wasn't even big enough for it to cross Percys conscious mind and only barely scraped his subconscious. It seems that Percy will have to control his subconscious as well which is no easy feat.

Percy opened his eyes and turned toward Jason who had just entered the training room. "Yo." Percy greeted Jason. Jason nodded to Percy. "Where've you been in the morning." Jason asked. "I went out to lunch with a friend and got a new axe." Percy replied with a smile. "Oh yeah what's their name." Jason reached down and picked up weights. "Her name was Claire." "Were you on a date?" Percy shook his head. "She only asked for my contact information and asked me out to lunch." "Only asked? Percy you just went on a date." Jason scrunched his eyebrows. "No I didn't." Jason shook his head and proceeded with his training. Both his Pidgeotto and now Quilava were training as well. Percy scanned his Pokémon.

Percy was surprised by their progress and congratulated them. Percy had Jormun practice Protect as it was the only thing she could do. Crash had learned the move Rock Tomb which thoroughly surprised Percy. Percy had been feeding stones to Crash in hope that Crash could absorb rock energy.

With a base for rock type moves Percy could try and help Crash learn more moves. Of course not all moves will be used and more than half would remain untouched. But there was something oddly securing about being able to have a lot of moves even if the moves would be ignored.

Crash was also able to make his Aqua Tail expert rank which was impressive. Now his tail would be able smash through two trees at once and still have force left. Percy had Crash practice moving while preparing moves now and Crash was ecstatic at his progress. Even Pharaoh was silent at his progress. Pharaoh and Crash had a small rivalry ever since they clashed before arriving at Honey City.

Percy noticed Pharaoh or Crash would toss small comments at each other just to poke. Neither of them let this effect their performance in the slightest as they both loved Percy very much. A rivalry isn't important enough for them to screw up something so important. Percy had Crash practice Scald and Protect next.

Keep in mind that Protect had a five minute timer on it so Scald was the most focused. Pharaoh was significantly more motivated and started to practice intensely. Percy didn't want to push himself and his Pokémon too far as they were going to go on what Percy assumed to be a taxing journey.

About an hour later Percy finished his training and was going to get to sleep early. He chilled with his Pokémon and talked to Jason. It was still only about 6 but Percy was tired nonetheless. Percy announced that he was going to bed. "I'll stay up for a bit longer." Jason said. Percy nodded and went to bed with all his Pokémon. Pharaoh protested to going to bed so early but Percy encouraged him.

"We'll be meeting some very important people tomorrow and have to be at full strength." Percy convinced Pharaoh. Eventually Pharaoh stopped resisting and everybody fell asleep in Percys bed.
