538 What Is She Doing Right Now?

Late afternoon, Nakano household.

"I'm back."

Pushing the door open until it creaked, Itsuki called out of habit.

"Welcome back."

Walking out from the front hall, Itsuki saw her four sisters sitting on the couch, seemingly waiting for her return.

"Ichika, weren't you supposed to go to work today?"

Itsuki was slightly surprised to see Ichika at home.

"I took a few days off and just returned to work. Finally, it's summer vacation, so it's reasonable to take enough rest." Explained Ichika.

Her office also gave her a few days off, so she had time to stay at home.

"I see."

Itsuki just asked casually; she wasn't too concerned about Ichika's situation.

"Let's not talk about that anymore. Have you found out what Dad and Ren-kun talked about?"

Ichika changed the subject and asked the question they were most worried about right now.

If not for the news, they would never sit on the couch waiting for her return like this in the late afternoon.

"Mhm..."

Itsuki hesitated; she was a bit unsure whether to say it or not.

She always felt that if she spoke up, there would be big trouble.

"Don't tell me you didn't ask anything."

Although not interested in Ren, Nino was still very worried about him.

The main reason was she had already tasted the sweetness of her improved performance and didn't want to go back to the time when the whole school was counting down.

"Say it quickly."

Miku raised her head and urged softly.

Yotsuba also wanted to say something, but it turned out that everything she could say had been said by them, and she had no words to speak.

So, she had no choice but to keep staring at Itsuki, trying to force her to speak with her eyes.

"I know everything about Kamikawa-kun."

After careful consideration of the pros and cons, Itsuki made a decision.

"Then say it quickly." Ichika urged.

"Yes, tell us."

Yotsuba echoed with hope.

Taking a deep breath, Itsuki also sat on the couch and said slowly, "Dad told Kamikawa-kun two things, one is good news, and the other is bad news. Which one do you want to hear first?"

"Is there bad news?"

Miku was slightly worried about what this so-called bad news could be.

"On one hand, it's bad news." Itsuki replied.

"Let's talk about the good things first. We all have to listen, so the order doesn't matter."

Without wasting much time on such matters, Ichika immediately made a decision.

"The good news is that Dad wants Kamikawa-kun to continue tutoring us for the next three years, and Kamikawa-kun agreed." Itsuki said unhurriedly.

Miku's eyes sparkled; this was the best for her.

No wonder Itsuki called this good news.

So the question was, if the good things were good, how bad were the bad things?

Thinking like this, Miku felt a little uneasy.

"It seems we don't need to worry about our academic performance in the future." Nino sighed with relief.

"Three years..."

Ichika repeated quietly this time.

"What's the bad news?"

Yotsuba asked eagerly.

After hearing this, the others also let go of their joy about Ren continuing as their tutor and kept staring at Itsuki, waiting for her answer.

"The bad news is... Dad won't mind if we date Kamikawa-kun."

Based on Ren's words, Itsuki drew a conclusion and said it like this.

"Eh?!"

The four of them exclaimed in disbelief simultaneously.

"What do you mean?" Yotsuba was a little confused. "Why did Dad suddenly say he wouldn't mind if we fell in love with Ren-san?"

"I don't know either."

Ichika shook her head; this incident exceeded her expectations too.

But Miku was very happy.

Because for her, this wasn't bad at all; it's better to say it's good.

"Itsuki, you can't just make up and lie to us, can you?"

Nino doubted the truth of this; she never expected her father, who had always been very serious, to say such a thing.

"Not at all. This is what Kamikawa-kun told me personally. There's no lie at all." Itsuki assured.

"Is there a possibility he's joking?"

After a moment of silence, Nino continued to speculate.

"I think Ren-kun said what's true. Moreover, he's clearly not the type of person to casually joke. Besides, joking about something like this would be pointless." Ichika's view contrasted with Nino's; she believed that her father said he wouldn't mind if they fell in love with him.

"That makes sense."

After thinking about it logically, Nino agreed with that view.

"However, this issue has nothing to do with me. Besides, I don't have any feelings for him at all, let alone falling in love with him."

She was very sure that what her father said was directed at her four sisters other than herself.

It had nothing to do with her.

After hearing her words, the other four chose to remain silent.

"By the way, Itsuki, why do you think Dad wouldn't mind if he dated us is bad news? No matter how I look at it, it's not bad. It's not even an overstatement. It's a good thing."

To avoid being noticed by Nino, Ichika changed the subject.

"Just kidding."

Seeing Nino had taken out her phone and started playing, Itsuki reluctantly replied.

For herself, it was indeed a good thing.

But for Nino, it wasn't good at all, it could be called bad.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

After parting ways with Itsuki, Ren continued to walk on the street and headed towards the apartment until nightfall.

Since he had already enjoyed his summer vacation, there would be no problem if he slowed down on the way home a bit.

After spending some time on the road, he returned to the apartment where he lived, walked up to the second floor familiarly, came to Gabriel's door, and knocked because of habit.

After waiting for a while, the door remained unmoved and showed no intention of opening.

"Oh, I forgot, Gabriel has returned."

Ren then remembered the fact that Gabriel had returned yesterday.

So, he had no choice but to take out the key and open his door.

Sitting on his bed, Ren looked at the photo he had placed on his desk and wondered.

"What is Gabriel doing right now?"
