16 Good Game for Real

If only the Cleopatra player could see through the computer screens, it would have been apparent that Yu Pengkai's smile was every bit as confident, if not more so.

In fact, if the player had only checked Yu Pengkai's inventory, they would have found a Cloak of Invisibility, the very same that Yu Pengkai had used earlier to block out Cleopatra's charm. Although the cooldown for the item was around three minutes, there was no question that Yu Pengkai had been saving the item for this final fight.

Ever since Cleopatra's respawn timer dipped below the three second mark, Yu Pengkai's middle finger had been resting on his 4 key in anticipation. So at the split second Cleopatra walked forward into her hit range, and the familiar golden scarab beetle flew towards Alexander the Great, Yu Pengkai pressed the key without another moment of hesitation.

Almost immediately, a blue bubble appeared around Alexander the Great, enveloping him in a short-lived sphere of crowd control protection. The scarab beetle hit the blue film with a sound thump, barely making a dent to Alexander the Great's health bar before bouncing off and falling to the floor with a sad flourish.

Seeing that the charm had not landed, Cleopatra immediately began to amass a golden orb to throw in Yu Pengkai's direction in hopes of buying some time. From Yu Pengkai's calculations, it should have been at least another ten seconds for her Ultimate to be off cooldown, and her charm would be up in another four.

Cleopatra's smile was still confident. If Yu Pengkai wanted her life, he would have to get through the two towers first.

As Cleopatra swirled the golden orb between her palms, she had not realized that she had made a grave mistake.

Sure, Cleopatra was a ranged champion while Alexander the Great was a melee one without any gap closers, but Yu Pengkai held a spell within his bags.

Alexander the Great suddenly Dashed forward while simultaneously activating his Ultimate, speeding toward Cleopatra without a moment to waste. In a blink of the eye, before Cleopatra could even Dash away, a swing of the broad sword had sent stars flying around her head. Just two more auto-attacks, and she would be sent back to her respawn timer.

A blue tower shot hurled towards Alexander the Great, and Paracelsus summoned a pool of mercury while gifting Cleopatra with a bit of health regeneration. Alexander the Great was down to half health, but thanks to Paracelsus, Cleopatra gained a sliver of health back.

Alexander the Great swung his sword another time at Cleopatra, flinging a few minions over to Paracelsus to keep him busy. As expected, seeing the three minions chasing him and lowering him to half health, the Paracelsus immediately ran to the respawn point, forgetting all about healing Cleopatra.

Another electric blue tower shot hit Alexander the Great. The enemy Jebe's arrow pierced through his golden armor, leaving him with a quarter of his health. The rest of the enemy team would respawn in less than five seconds, and his teammates were still half a map away.

He swung his sword again. Cleopatra had less than a sliver of health, but if Yu Pengkai tanked another tower shot, his life would be at risk.

Yu Pengkai turned away at the last minute, leaving Cleopatra to run back to her spawning point to regenerate her health with a breath of relief.

Only, as she strode away, a bright red flame slowly burned away the last of her health, setting her ablaze. Just as she stood at the edge of her spawning point, she collapsed onto the ground, her last hope for a sanctuary barely a fingertip away. If only she had taken another step, she would have been saved.

But of course, if Yu Pengkai had allowed her to take another step, he would not have been "Pentakill."

Almost as soon as Alexander the Great made it out of the tower range, he turned back again to continue hitting the towers. Within a few seconds, his base health regeneration had filled him back to half health, and without the tower shots and the threat of Cleopatra's charms, Jebe's arrows were akin to little flying toothpicks, and Paracelsus's mercury pools became little puddles of minor inconvenience.

Finally, his team joined him at the enemy base, and the last of the towers had crumbled to the ground.

Yu Pengkai struck the enemy Castle, the proud blue spirals cracking under the attacks. Just a few more hits, and the before-pristine blue castle would be reduced to a pile of rumbles.

Only, just as how his Pentakill had been taken from him before, the satisfaction of the process was cut short. A notification in the chat quite literally sent him stopping in his steps as the champions froze.

The enemy team has surrendered with 5 - 0 votes.

Yu Pengkai heaved a heavy sigh of disapproval. Never before had he been so unhappy to see the words "Victory."

As the familiar "Victory" lit up the screen, Yu Pengkai couldn't help but frown. He wanted to win. Well, he wanted to actually win. If there was any image that he enjoyed the most, it was the final moment when the Castle walls came tumbling down, crashing onto the floor in a heave.

This anticlimactic ending was almost like a bucket of ice water had been dumped on top of his head, immediately putting out the kindling flame in his heart.

"Bro, I can't believe we won this!" Josh suddenly exclaimed. If he hadn't suddenly shouted out loud, Yu Pengkai had nearly almost forgotten that he was there in the first place.

Little did he know, the entire time, Josh was making random remarks about the game's progress and Yu Pengkai's playstyle. It was only that Yu Pengkai had been so focused on the game that he unknowingly filtered out the rest of the world.

With a tug at the corner of his lips, Yu Pengkai pressed "continue." He spectated the conversation in the post-game lobby without any emotion, almost like he wasn't the one who had just played.

Yu Pengkai hadn't responded to the false statement. The entire time, his thoughts were preoccupied on a single thing:
