Chapter Twenty

Helping lead Lan Wangji to the closest town, Wei Wuxian realized how much pain he must be in. Sighing Wei Wuxian turns the younger man and pulls his robes tighter around Lan Wangji before taking his arms and swinging them around before pulling Lan Wangji onto his back, caring him farthing down the road.

"Can walk on my own." Lan Wangji protests trying to sound mad about it but only sounded embarrassed about being carried.

"Not in this condition you can't Lan Zhan. Let A-Xian take care of you until I can reunite you with your family." Wei Wuxian smiles up at him.

Lan Wangji's ears were unbelievably red and hid his face in Wei Wuxian's hair. "Not calling you that," he mutters.

"Hmm, What about Lan Zhan?"

"Not calling Wei Ying, A-Xian." Lan Wangji clarifies.

"Ah that fine, you don't have to. I was just teasing you a bit."

"Like Wei Wing better."

Wei Wuxian's heart almost called it quits on him at Lan Wangji's words, but only laughed it off. "You Lan's are always too straight forward when wanting to be."

Finally able to reach the town, Wei Wuxian buys a room for the both of them to share, wanting to keep a close eye on the Second Master of Lan. Inside the room Wei Wuxian lays the once again asleep Lan Wangji onto the single bed, removing his robes from Lan Wanji and replacing them with blanket's, and putting his outer robes back on before taking his leave again to order plain food for Lan Wangi, making sure there wasn't any spice or meat in his meals and another set of spicy food for Wei Wuxian's self.

Returning to the room again Wei Wuxian takes his seat behind the desk and lit an Incest burner before going into meditation to calm the roaring energy in his core. Lan Wangji wakes again but somewhere different and he sees Wei Wuxian again, but meditating, which he didn't think he would find the boy ever did. Perhaps Lan Wangji should stop judging people by their covers.

"Are you alright Lan Zhan?" Wei Wuxian asks with his eyes still closed.

"Mnh." Lan Wangi hums.

Smiling Wei Wuxian opens his eyes and stares at the Second Master of Gusu. "I'm glad, but you still can't travel on that leg, and must be careful because I don't know about you, but I don't want to leave a trail of Wen bodies to Gusu."

"Can walk on the leg." Lan Wangji claims.

Wei Wuxian shakes his head, "No, no you can't Lan Wangji." giving him a stern look, "You walk on it you cripple yourself in the future."

"I can walk."

Wei Wuxian gets up from the desk and makes his way to the bed and kneels in front of Lan Wangji before placing two fingers in his rest and closing his eyes to listen to the flow of the spiritual energy that flows within him, but to hear it lacking, which could mean there will be a shortage in the heeling for his leg. Wei Wuxian shakes his head saying, "No can do Lan Zhan, If you want to be able to get revenge for your clan then you must listen to me when I say you need to at least stay off your leg until we return to Gusu. Hopefully, by then your spiritual energy will be replenished and heeling your leg."

Lan Wangji opened his mouth to argue again but Wei Wuxian gave him a look that was saying, "Try me," and decided against it and closed his mouth before starting a fight with Wei Wuxian.

"When do we leave?" Lan Wangji decides to ask.

Smiling kindly, Wei Wuxian answers with, "In the morning."
