Chapter Thirty-Two

Lan Wanji made himself scarce by doing everything possible to help. When he wasn't training himself, he would help Sect. Leader Jiang trains his new disciples. When he wasn't helping serve the injured food, he was being taught how to take care of their injuries by Lady Jiang. When he wasn't doing anything he was by Wei Wuxian's side keeping him company while he was being imprisoned and healing from the unknown sickness. Lan Wangji even offered to help Wei Wuxian bath but Wei Wuxian quickly shut that down saying it would be too embarrassing to be seen naked by the great Hunguang Jun, even though their time hiding in the Yiling mountains for almost three months, Lan Wangji had to continuously get after Wei Wuxian to at least where his trousers and undershirt while Wei Wuxian did heavy work.

A month passed like this and Wei Wuxian was much better, and was allowed to be taking walks but only if Sect. Leader Jiang or Hunguang Jun was beside him. Lan Wangji enjoyed those walks but never voiced them out loud, but Wei Wuxian wasn't gullible, he knew that Lan Wangji likes being around him.

It was mid-noon, and Lan Wangji was leaving Wei Wuxian into Jiang Yanli's care as he and Jiang cheng had to attend a meeting with Sect. Leader Nie to plan future battles against the Wen's. Once he was inside the Hall Lan Wangji was met with Lan Xichen who was talking with Nie Mingjue. Not caring who was watching or who even was there, Lan Wanji left Sect. Leader Jiang's side to hug his brother who has been missing now for a little more than half of a year.

Lan Xichen was the most surprised, as it's not like Lan Wangji to show openly emotions. He couldn't even remember when it was when Lan Wangji last hugged him. Though he decided not to question it and enjoyed his little brother's warmth as he wrapped his arms around Lan Wangji and returned the hug.

"Missed Xichen-gege." Lan Wangji whispers for only Lan Xichen to hear.

"I missed my didi to Lan Wangji." Lan Xichen whispers back.

After the long and tedious meeting, Nie Mingjue finally called the meeting to an end, and Lan Wangji takes his brothers wrist and drags him out of the room to find a secluded area in the gardens before he hugs his brother again but this time he couldn't fight his tears as it seems Lan Xichen couldn't either.

The Twin Jades of Gusu fall to the ground still in an embrace, and tears. Once they lightened up the hold of each other Lan Wangji wanted to continue to touch his brother so stilted by placing his head in his brother's lap, as Lan Xichen let out a silent chuckle and played with his little brother's hair.

"I thought I was alone." Lan Wangji starts with. "Father died, Uncle is still unknown, brother was gone, no one knew if you were alive or not. I thought I would always be alone."

"I'm sorry Lan Wangji. I wanted to come sooner, but I had to help with something else." Lan Xichen says. "How did you ever escape from the Wen's though? No one would tell me."

"Wei Ying." Lan Wangji answers. "He saved all of us and stayed by my side promising me to reunite me with my family, and never leave my side until then. He kept his promise Brother."

"I guess I owe Young Master Wei some great thanks then." Lan Xichen smiles fondly at how much his brother is voicing for his care of Wei Wuxian, even though Lan Xichen wasn't fond of his choices.

"You can by helping Sect. Leader Nie understands that Wei Ying is a good person." Lan Wangji answers bluntly. "He not only saved me and nurtured me back to health. He saved Sect. Leader Jiang and Lady Jiang. He snatched the Lotus Pier from the Wen's, he gave Sect. Leader another chance by helping him gain a new core. I saw it all. Wei Ying is truly a good person."

Lan Xichen was speechless. He never heard his brother speak so much all at once, and for a boy he truly likes. It brought another wave of tears, of happy tears to his eyes. "I'll do my best Lan Wangji."

Wei Wuxian was going impatient. It took everything in him not to just barge out of these rooms and demand an audience with Nie Mingjue. Though it seemed that Nie Mingjue beat him to the punch as he with Lan Wangji and Lan Xichen came into the room. "I'm not going to lie or short sweeten it, I don't like nor trust you," Nie Mingjue says, "but Lan Huan and Lan Wangji both are consistent that you are to be trusted."

"I am honored." Wei Wuxian smiles up at Lan Wangji, and Lan Wangji's ears grow red.

"Do not misunderstand me, Wei Wuxian!" Mingjue glares, "You will never fully be trusted, but you can start with returning the two Yin Irons you stole."

"I didn't steal them," Wei Wuxian refuses. "They belong to me, I am the one that has created the Yin Iron."

"WHAT SORT OF NONSENSE ARE YOU SPOUTING!" Mingjue rages.

"Young Master Wei, you can't make them, they were created over hundreds of years ago, by the Yiling Patriarch." Lan Xichen tries to calm down both parties.

"Yes, but no one has seen or been taken in by the Yiling Patriarch, after the Dark sun."

All three, Nie Mingjue, Lan Xichen, and Lan Wangji were shocked at the Dark Sun, the silent war between the cultivation world and the Demon King was a secret among the main cultivation families. There would be no way that a rogue cultivator would know about this war that created all the sects. and main sect.'s families that were over a hundred years ago.

"Are you claiming… that you're Yiling Patriarch." Lan Xichen asks.

"I've been asleep for so long after the war because I was injured after the war. I gave the Yin Iron to my strongest disciple, Xue Chonghai. Little did I know not even he would be strong to hold on them after me." Wei Wuxian says, "It broke my heart to hear it was his own sworn brother who had to kill him, stopping my A-Hai madness."

No one knew what to say to this. This Wei Wuxian who has only been with them for a little over a year now is giving little details that only the Main Sect.'s families know about. No one knew that Wen Yao and Xue Chonghai were sworn brothers, and both were raised by the Yiling Patriarch.

"If you are telling them the truth about this," Lan Wangji was the one to speak up but he couldn't finish that thought, so they all left it there, though they never got the chance to come back to it as the War with the Wen's came to its peak.
