Chapter Forty

The meeting came to an end and Wei Wuxian agreed to pick up the slack of being the Head cultivator once more until he could find someone suitable at a later date. Since it was a late notice of everything, Wei Wuxian asked Wen Ning if he could bring Wen Yuan and maybe Granny Wen here, since he will have to stay here to do the Head Cultivators' work and help Nie Huaisang pick up being Qinghe Nie Sect. Leader.

Everyone stayed until Wei Wuxian orders them all to leave because they were overwhelming poor Nie Huaisang by being here, though Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji stayed a little longer, at least long enough for Lan Wangji to see Wen Yuan, who finally arrived with Wen Ning by the end of the week, and Granny Wen also agreed to come and help Wei Wuxian with little A-Yuan when Wei Wuxian would be to busy with his duties.

Though just two days later Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji had to leave once more, but little to their surprise they were met with Meng Yao who was waiting for their arrival back at Cloud Recesses, or rather now Jin Guangyao, as Jin Guangshan finally recognized him as his son, but nobody knows at what price for they did it on their own one day, and Jin Guangshan introduces Meng Yao as not only as a brother but named as Jin Guangshan to Jin Zixuan.

Jin Guangyao bows to greet the Twin Jades of Gusu. "Zewu-Jun, Hanguang-Jun, I've been waiting for your arrival."

"A-Yao what a pleasant surprise." Lan Xichen says taking Jin Guangyao by his arms.

"It's nice to see you as well A-Huan, but sadly I am not here for a pleasant visit as I am here on important matters." Jin Guangyao says. "It has to do with the death of Nie Mingjue and Master Wei I am afraid. I have reason to believe it was indeed Master Wei who killed Nie Mingjue by his own will."

Lan Wangji's eyes darken glaring down at the short man. Seemingly to notice his brothers growing angrier Lan Xihen places a hand on his shoulder. "Let's go talk in private A-Yao."

But before Lan Xichen could even take a step, Lan Wangji grabs a hold of his brother's arm, stopping before he leaves. "I want to know as well."

"I don't think that's good…"

"Has to do with Wei Wing." Lan Wangji didn't leave room for argument, "I'm coming too."

"No, let him come to A-Huan. It has to do with him too." Jin Guangyao encourages him.

Nodding Lan Xichen leads them to Hanshi, making sure to put a silent talisman on the door so no one can hear the conversation. Lan Xichen makes tea for the three before asking Jin Guangyao to explain himself.

"A few months ago His late Excellency and I mended our differences and started to trade letters for three months until one day Nie Mingjue expressed his concerns that he might have found some evil dead that Wei Wuxian might have committed and asked me what my opinion on what to do on this matter." Jin Guangyao passes letters to Lan Xichen for him to read, and sure enough, Lan Xiche recognizes the handwriting to do his dead sworn brothers. "I didn't see it to be serious as this was Master Wei, a lot of the things he has done have been taken and told in foolish tales, so I told him to just ask him about it. Mingjue did at Young Masters Wen Yuan's birthday and Nie Mingjue said it didn't go well, and that he feared for his life. Now a month later Nie Mingjue is dead."

"Did his Excellency ever tell you or give you evidence of his claim against Master Wei?" Lan Xichen asks.

Jin Guangyao nods and passes over a piece of paper that seemed old as time. Carefully because it felt like it could turn to dust in his hands, Lan Xichen opened the [a[er and read it over before his eyes opened wide and in shock. Lan Xichen turns to Lan Wangji before he passes the paper to let Lan Wangji read over it. It didn't take long for Lan Wangji to read it over and what he read was true, well no words could describe what he was feeling. The paper was describing a spell to have someone fall in love with the other and on the bottom was the name in question, on the bottom was signed by Wei Wuxian.
