Now, against the backdrop of a planet redefined by both alien incursion and supernatural awakening, Arthur's journey begins. Will he rise from the obscurity of the library to become a renowned Hunter, defending humanity against extraterrestrial threats, or will he remain a forgotten figure in this new, perilous chapter of Earth's history? The First Story (2)

"From now on you will be the Squadron leader of the 13th Platoon of the Kallen Kingdom. Go meet your subordinates and begin your training. Once a post has been assigned to you by the Royal family, I will inform you." The commander spoke, finishing his message and leaving the vicinity.

Arthur stood respectfully, putting his right fist on his heart as this was the sign of respect to higher ups.

'To be honest, I kind of feel bad for this lad, the 13th battalion is a group of rowdy and uncoordinated men. It will be interesting how they chew him and throw him back out again. All the best youngin.' The commander, stroked his long beard as he walked away, he cast one last look at the young man, who had already started walking towards his camp.

Arthur knit his eyebrows into a frown. He couldn't help but feel uneasy as this wasn't part of the storyline.

In the story, Damien Lorde was actually assigned the role of squad leader of a small group of maybe 5 men, he then worked extremely hard luckily being hired by the royal guard. But Arthur was assigned to be the leader of a whole Platoon of men consisting of several hundred men.

Was it because of his performance? He barely struggled in that war, did he rouse too much attention?

Arthur was deep in thought, and hadn't realised it but he had already reached the training camp on the 13th Batallion.

"Hahahaha! Gooo Morgen!"

"Kill him Ruben!!"

Arthur approached the crowd that had formulated in the centre of their camp. Was there a fight going on? He shoved the people out of his way reaching the middle of the ring that had been made for the two soldiers that were going at it in a battle to the death. He was the only red armoured being in the crowd amongst the soldiers clad in black armour, but they didn't seem to notice as Arthur diminished his presence.

"You filthy scum! I told you not to even talk to her! I had eyes on her." A tall and lanky man spat. He had a slim build and a messy fighting style. Long black, messy strands of hair reached his shoulders and a stubble beard painted his face.

"Well you were too much of a coward to approach her so I decided to help you out! How was I meant to know she'd fall for me?" A blonde haired man smiled, mockingly. He was clearly a playboy, Arthur guessed straight away as he had that typical look that every stereotypical medieval girl would fall for, with Blonde hair, blue eyes. His fighting style was more flashy as he made risky attacks, which were clearly exaggerated to show off.

"This is the end! You lowlife!" Morgen, the tall and lanky man, jumped up and sliced straight down towards Ruben.

As this was an unexpected attack, It had taken the blonde playboy by surprise. He also drew his sword back, slicing diagonally to counter.

"That's enough."

Tingg!!!

A powerful shockwave caused a cloud of dust to spread. The crowd of people closed their eyes in reflex, raising their arms to shield their eyes.

Once the dust had disappeared, what sight beheld them caused them to be shocked. Arthur was in the middle of both men, holding both swords by their blades, just using his fingers. He had stopped both of the batallion's strongest soldiers' attacks with his bare hands?! How preposterous!

Arthur pushed both soldiers back, causing them both to stumble backwards.

"Who's this fu-" As Morgen was about to swear at this stranger, his face went ashen as Arthur gave him a simple look.

'What is this pressure? It's like I'm looking at a predator. This guy… He could have killed both of us just now if he wanted.' Morgen turned his head down, sheathing his sword.

Ruben wasn't as hot headed as his peer. He knew how strong he was himself, so stopping his attack using just mere fingers was mental to think about. The man in front of him was a beast in human skin.

"I am your new assigned Squadron leader, Damien Lorde. All of you in a single file line." Arthur ordered, with a solemn look.

A moment of silence ensued as the crowd of soldiers all looked Arthur's non imposing figure up and down. Then a burst of laughter shook the camp, as the soldiers laughed hysterically.

"YOU?! You're our new lead- HAHAHAHA!!" One of them held his stomach as he was laughing so hard, tears were beginning to appear in his eyes.

"Stoopp! You're making me laugh more." Another soldier commented also unable to contain his outburst.

Ruben and Morgen also smiled wryly, but they were more fixated on how this new squad leader would react. Only them two knew how powerful this guy in front of them was. Battalion Leader or not, he could kill them all if he wanted, this was more than enough reason for them to stay quiet.

Suddenly, the air felt heavy as the soldiers' faces all turned ashen, even the ones that were holding their stomachs just a second ago, were stood still. Their hairs all stood up as their bodies froze in place under the gaze of the mighty predator in front of them.

'Unbelievable! I can't breathe! What is this killing intent? This… How many people did he have to kill to get this sort of killing intent?' Morgen shivered, as he was the nearest to Arthur, he felt like he could lose his life any second.

"Do I look like a joke to all of you?" Arthur's voice caused them all to shiver, as he walked forward, with both his hands behind his back. The crowd of soldiers, fearfully split, creating a path for him.

"From now on you all will all follow my orders to the dot. There are no excuses. Get in line now!" Arthur shouted, withholding his killing intent again.

It seemed that he had to use the skillset that he despised so much. The life of killing that he had given up, why was the life he dreaded returning, itching to be part of his life again?

The soldiers got in two single file lines, looking ahead respectfully.

"Who are the current generals within the battalion?" Arthur asked, scanning the soldiers.

"That would be us sir, we are the Vice - Captains of the 13th Batallion. I am Ruben Edwards VII and he is Morgen Fritz." Ruben stepped forward along with Morgen.

'So those two were actually vice - captains, no wonder my hands still feel numb from stopping their attacks.' Arthur pondered, he could still feel his hands shaking from the impact. Both his arms were sore, as he had flexed every fibre in both his arms to stop their attacks.

"From today onwards I will make sure you all become strong soldiers. I do believe in enjoying from time to time, but everyday for 5 hours you will all work in a strict regimen to get stronger. Whatever you all do with your time afterwards, I don't care. Just don't bother me." Arthur's voice echoed throughout the camp.

The soldiers' faces all lightened up slightly realising their new captain wasn't a total tyrant.

"Now Get running! I want 100 laps of the field as a warmup." Arthur ordered, causing the soldiers to sigh and whine as they began running.

Ruben and Morgen stayed standing in place, looking at Arthur for their orders.

"Cap'n what about me? Will you be training us yourself? I am the strongest in this camp." Ruben smiled and posed in a flashy way.

"You stupid narcissist. I'm the strongest!" Morgen sneered back, his anger boiling again.

"Sorry I don't speak to ugly peasants like yourself." Ruben scoffed, looking away from Morgen like he was a stain on this Earth.

Arthur facepalmed his head, shaking his head, 'I just hope the storyline doesn't change anymore, otherwise my advantage of knowing the future will be redundant.'

"Both of you shut up and get running." Arthur ordered, sighing.

"As you say Cap'n. That is so amazing of you! Of course the strongest should lead the other weaklings by example. Hohohoho." Ruben flicked his blonde hair, beginning his sprint.

"That stupid narcissist." Morgen cursed, also sprinting behind the blonde pretty boy.
