Chapter 48- A terrifying entity

Chapter 48

         What greeted them was total darkness everywhere. But as cultivators, this little darkness wasn't much of an impediment to them, as they could see almost clearly.

"Where is this place!" Yan Jian muttered. Even Long feng was quite impressed by what he saw. From the outside, people could only see the Fang mountain, but here inside, the three of them could clearly see what was going on outside. The mountain was merely a facade to conceal what was really there. A deep ink dark tunnel!

Right in front of them was a pitch dark tunnel which was seemingly endless.

"This is....." Even Li yu'er was stunned.

"Let's go!" Although Long feng had overdrawn his soul power, his martial power was at its peak. He unhesitatingly jumped into the tunnel. Li yu'er and Yan Jian immediately jumped in after him.

Thirty minutes later, the three of them were still falling down. The tunnel was unbelievably deep!

One hour later, Li yu'er suddenly spoke.

"We are nearing the end of the tunnel. Brace yourselves!"

       Li yu'er had spread her aura, so that immediately they were nearing the ground, she would feel it through her aura. Long feng and Yan Jian both steadied themselves to land.

BAM!

     All three of them landed on their feet at the same time, making a loud sound.

"Wow! That was quite a fall!" Yan Jian stared up. All around them was ink darkness.

A long passage way stood before them. They couldn't even see the end of the passage way. And Long feng could sense a strong soul power being emitted from the passage way.

"Let's go" Li yu'er shot past Long feng and Yan Jian and entered the passage way.

"Miss Li!" Long feng immediately ran after her, grabbed her hand and pulled her back. But it was a little bit too late. A shower of arrows appeared out of nowhere, all aimed at Long feng and Li yu'er. And all these arrows were half Yin armaments! Some were even Yin armament arrows!

Long feng and Li yu'er retreated out of the passage way.

"The passage way is filled with soul formation traps. You mistakenly crossed over one of the traps and activated it. The traps were created to awaken immediately a person comes close to them." Long feng explained.

"Why would someone place traps in an ordinary passage way?" Yan Jian asked.

"There must be something at the end of this passage way. The traps were placed in order to protect whatever is at the end of the passage way" Long feng thought aloud.

"From thieves?" Yan Jian asked.

"Are we thieves?" Li yu'er asked.

"Well, since we came here uninvited, I guess we are also thieves?" Yan Jian replied.

Long feng rolled his eyes at their conversation.

"Let's go. And be careful." They all stepped into the passage way. Long feng could sense the soul traps, so they were able to avoid them. Still, they accidentally activated some of the traps. They slowly walked on for hours before finally arriving at the end of the passage way.

A door stood in front of them. The door had ancient runes inscribed all over it, and none of them could understand the runes.

"Is this a tomb?" Yan Jian asked. Both Long feng and Li yu'er were thinking about the same thing.

"It most Likely is. The question is, whose tomb is this?" Long feng asked.

Suddenly, Li yu'er's face paled. She spat out a mouthful of dark red blood and almost fell, if Yan Jian hadn't caught her.

"Miss Li!" Long feng and Yan Jian were confused. She was just fine a moment ago.

"What is it? Long feng asked. Black veins were appearing all over her body, making her face pale further. Long feng frowned slightly.

"Was she poisoned?" Yan Jian asked worriedly. These were signs of poisoning.

"No." Long feng shook his head. The dark veins were from her dantian. He slowly instilled a strand of his soul power into her dantian. He instantly withdrew the soul power, his face a little pale and he panted slightly. There was a living entity within her dantian! The being possessed an aura above the Yang level! And it was clearly not a bloodline or divine power because no bloodline or divine power would harm it's owner.

"Miss Li, your dantian..." Long feng asked. Li yu'er sat down cross legged and closed her eyes, obviously trying to control whatever the entity was.

"What is it?" Yan Jian asked Long feng.

"I am not sure. Let's wait" Long feng replied.

But Li yu'er's condition didn't seem to be improving. Her face turned pale white and she continuously spat out dark red blood. Her face veil was stained dark by the blood.

Long feng could feel that she was trying to control the being within her dantian, but the being refused to submit. It continuously attacked her.

"She needs help!" Long feng spoke, turning to Yan Jian. "Transfer your inner energy to her. Try to hold on for as long as you can"

Nodding, Yan Jian began to pour his inner energy into Li yu'er.

Long feng on the other hand, sat down cross legged and released his soul power. Stretching his hands, he began to make hand seals. He had previously severely overdrawn his soul power and if he continued to use his soul power, he could damage his soul but right now, he couldn't care less about that. Tiny runes appeared around him and floated on the air. Long feng continued making hand seals and his face paled further. Yet, he continued. A couple of minutes later, the runes converged into a formation. It was a supporting formation. Long feng couldn't hope to seal the entity with his current strength, but his supporting formation would help Li yu'er in suppressing the entity. The formation slowly sank into Li yu'er's dantian.

         Without wasting time, Long feng made more hand seals without caring about his own detoriating soul power. He soon created another soul formation. This time, a soul seal formation. Although it would not seal the entity away, it would suppress it for a few days at most. The formation also sank into Li yu'er's dantian as Long feng fell back on the floor, his soul power completely overdrawn. Yan Jian also looked exhausted. 

They had done all they could. The rest was left to Li yu'er herself.

     As they waited, Long feng felt slight changes occurring within his soul world. He had badly overdrawn his soul power, so he was prepared for the worst. But the changes that were occurring were the direct opposite of what he was prepared to see.

      His soul world had widened significantly. If the world was previously slightly larger than star Mountain City, then now, it was almost as large as the entire Jianhai Province. And what more, his soul energy within his soul world was far denser and more powerful than before. His soul power was also incomparable to the past. It was brighter, gentler, stronger and purer than it was before. He could feel his soul power in a distinct boundary. Without being told, he guessed that his soul power had reached the rank one heaven layer! He had overdrawn his soul power, but that had only unlocked his hidden potential, making his soul power to shatter it's limits. Long feng was elated. His soul core had also grown significantly, and his understanding of the infinite Immortal Soul formula deepened. He had definitely profited from this adventure....
