Chapter 34

While they were waiting for the leader to arrive, Naruto and Toshiro sat down for a small talk while his men brought some tea and snacks for them to eat.

It was the first time for Naruto to actually eat anything that was Uzumaki, and he felt weird using the same language. All ninja in Konoha learnt Uzu Language but most of them never really spoke it.

Naruto would have spoken it in a weird manner before the war, but after it he had started practicing properly to honor his clan.

"Do you think the leader will share Uzumaki secrets with the world for the greater good?" Naruto finally asked the question on his mind as he shared some small talk about the food and their normal routine daily routines to know about the Uzumaki clan.

Toshiro didn't have to jump around and answered his enquiries since it was just basic daily life of his clan. But, the last question gave him a stop.

His expression didn't change but the answer he gave was ambiguous, "I don't know since it has never happened before."

Naruto was about to mention the Shinigami seal given to Konoha and the Kyuubi seal, but kept shut. He got the memo, Toshiro was unsure or the current leader wasn't going to share a thing.

"I hope your leader listens to my words, so we can start working together. Maybe I can finally live up to my Uzumaki now." Naruto smiled as he looked at the sky and leaned back into his seat.

"The leader is wise, and he knows what is best for the clan." Toshiro responded and stood up as he received the signal.

Naruto also stood up and the people made a seal on the ground from which another elderly but scholarly man appeared.

The fuinjutsu seal turned out to be a teleportation seal.

The men bowed to their leader and he walked forward towards Toshiro.

"Be at ease, you must be Uzumaki Naruto. I am truly honored to meet the Emperor of the world." The elderly leader with a handsome look and eloquent tongue greeted him cordially.

Naruto was confused by his words since he had never mentioned such a thing, "Sir, you are mistaken. I am not the Emperor of the world and there is no such thing. I am the guardian of the world."

"Is that so? My bad, I thought someone with such power would have conquered the world."

"I don't have such interests. And, please stop what you are doing." Naruto felt uncomfortable with his wording and decided to make him stop before he made it worse.

"Apologies, I was just surprised by your noble nature. Please sit, and let's talk about this problem in the outside world. Before I forget, my name is Genryu Uzumaki. It is a pleasure to meet you." Genryu gave him a bow and a smile as he sat down.

Toshiro didn't speak and sat beside his master while Naruto sat on the other side.

Genryu sent the others away when Naruto looked at them and Toshiro put up a barrier.

"Thanks, I don't think this something that should be common knowledge."

"I understand, so please give us the full picture." Genryu gave a nod and picked his tea while Naruto started explaining the gritty details.

He didn't go into details of what humanity was doing but gave details of the threats. It was a depressing picture unless you had the positive mindset of Naruto.

There was a race of immortal beings that devoured life from planets with intelligent life. The weakest of them was strong enough to contend with Naruto. These creatures were strong enough to even ascend to a domain where time and space didn't even matter.

Their numbers were unknown, but even if there were just thousand of them and they had actually lived for countless thousands of years then humanity was doomed.

No matter how anyone looked at it, there would be at least Otsutsuki in the hundred ranges that had lived for a very long time and devoured countless planets. Just one Otsutsuki that might have devoured 100 planets would be too much for any of them. Could they even contend with that power?

If one of them had already ascended to the outer domain, there were definitely others beside him as well. How strong was he before he ascended? How many of them were close to ascension?

They didn't know the personality of these creatures, but none of them could risk it on the fact that they might be civil about it.

Naruto didn't say the depressing thoughts about ultimate threats, but it was everyone else around him that listened to the details. He was the only one that didn't see the futility of their resistance. He was the only one that knew all details but didn't see that their chance of success was not even 1 percent.

Naruto actually believed in the potential of his people to put up a valid resistance especially after finding so many ways to improve humanity. He didn't think they could ever go extinct if they stuck together and avoided backstabbing each other.

Just like others, Genryu and Toshiro also took the issue in a similar manner. It was a horrifying reality that they had awoken to. Was it even worth living with such details? Knowing that every moment just got them closer to a fated doom.

"Are you alright?" Naruto asked with concern.

Genryu shook off the shock and focused on the young man, "Why do you look so confident even after knowing such details? I believe that everyone would agree that we are just waiting for our end, there is no possible way we can survive this threat."

"Why do you think so? We have many ways to improve and it should put us on a similar level. It is not like all of them are coming to cleanse us. From the data we can assume that a team of two might come to check on the area and we can definitely get a time limit extension by capturing these two since the Otsutsuki don't operate on the same time as us. To them even thousand years are just like one year or so, for us this is enough time to put up a real resistance."

"Isn't that too convenient? What if one of the strong ones appears? What if these two scouts end up reporting the moment they look towards our region? They have lived for a long time and been eating planets, so they must have some way to judge whether the planet is worth it or not." Genryu seemed to show his bad habit of making others second guess themselves. However, he had come across an anomaly.

"Why should we delve in the what if? Has it ever caused a positive outcome? Such thoughts are just a waste of time if they only amount to causing psychological and moral damage. Or, do you suppose we should just sit down and wait for the end instead of trying and maybe succeeding."

"Haha, you are right. We are not such weak men that would accept the outcome. You have satisfied my curiosity, Naruto. I accept your helping hand, and thank you in advance. And since we are not such ungrateful people, I will allow you to learn under Toshiro. We will also provide resources to combat this threat and play our part." Genryu stood up and extended his hand towards Naruto with a friendly smile.

Naruto took it and they hugged to finalize the discussion. With it the atmosphere lightened up and Genryu allowed one of the men to show him around town.

Seeing the young man leave, Genryu turned to Toshiro.

"What do you think?"

"They haven't gone past the fundamentals of chakra. They are not a threat to us anymore except Naruto. His chakra is immune to ours and his power is too much for any of us."

"Even with all of us, with our full capabilities?"

"I am unsure. We need combat data to make an accurate judgment."

"Have Makoto fight him or you can fight him directly, will that be enough or do you need a real battle."

"A spar should be enough, we will have analyzers ready and we will definitely be able to find a way to restrain him. But, will we use it on him. He is one of us and the world has changed."

"Changed, we are still in the same position. We were the strongest when comparing our average power and our seals gave us the edge that caused fear in all of them. Even now these people are so far behind us that it's too pathetic to even comment on.

No matter what the world looks like, we can't be complacent like last time. We were neutral but they desired to erase us from this world. We can't allow these barbarians such freedom again. We will rule this planet no matter what.

This young man is our last obstacle, so devise a plan to control him just in case. First, we will try to pull him to our side. I don't mind putting him on the throne, if we are the ones controlling things under him."

Toshiro couldn't deny his leader's fears as the world had never been kind to them. They had helped humanity for thousands of years by fighting giant beasts and keeping the Bijuu away from human lands, but they had been betrayed for all their efforts.

"I understand."

"Don't worry Toshiro, we will not kill your last family member. We never kill one of ours." Genryu put his hand on Toshiro's shoulder and promised to keep it clean.
