THE PEARLS

I was just wandering at midnight in my house lawn and was buried deep in my thoughts when suddenly I heard a sound of crash like something had fallen outside of my house .

I rushed towards the gate and when I opened it I saw as old man lying on the neighborhood road and he was crying out for help I rushed towards him and helped him get up. He asked for some water I rushed to get him a glass of water after drinking it he handed me a strange box that looked really old and When I asked him what it was he said that it is an ancient box my child and it has a special Stone inside that is very precious and unique . He said

I am handing it to you and I trust you that you will not open it or give it to anyone . I asked him why was he giving it to me he replied that he was in danger some dangerous people were after him for this box but he needed to protect it and he had no one to trust.

He gave it to me because he thought that I was just a kid who no one can suspect of and no one will know that I have the box . I was not sure about it and I had second thoughts what if it causes problems for me and my family and I refused to keep it but the old man so persistent and he wouldn't take it back he was looking so frustrated and weak he said that he had no one to give it to he could only rely on me he had no choice because his life was in danger . So I eventually gave up and took the box from him and he promised me that he would come back for the box and I asked him when he said when the box will start to glow remember to come at this spot as soon as possible where we met today along with the box and he would take it from me and he made me promise that I would not open it or say anything about it to anyone and it would remain a secret between me and him . I agreed and made a promise then I heard my mom calling my name shoot I think she knows I am not in my room when I looked back the old man had disappered I got scared and ran inside with the box in my hand my mom was angry that what was I doing at this hour at night I apologized and went to my room and hid tge box in my j0ewelry box where no one could find it and went to sleep.

The next day when I woke up I thought that it was just a weird dream but when I opened the jewelry box the strange box was still inside and I heard my mom calling me for breakfast so I hurried up and changed and went for breakfast it was Saturday so I was going to visits my relatives ( dads sister ) with my parents as we were getting ready to leave I was worried about the box but then my mom called for me so I left my room and we packed up and left the house . It took a whole day at my aunts house but we spent some quality time there we reached late at home about 10 pm. Then my Mom asked me to change up and go to bed I agreed and left for my room then after changing I was ready to sleep when I remembered about the strange box I took it out if the jewelry box and started to stare at it . It looked quite old and had something written on it maybe in Spanish . I couldn't read it when suddenly I heard the knock at my door it was mom I quickly hid the box under my pillow she came to see if I was asleep or not . She sat down on my bed and she said she wanted to have some time with me alone as she was always busy and had less time to spend with me alone . So we started to chat and it was really nice it had been a long time since we had a long conversation . Then she kissed me goodnight and then left the room .

I went to sleep with a smile on my face .

It hadn't been quite long while I had been sleeping when something under my pillow started to glow when I took it out it was the box that the old man gave to me then suddenly I rememberd about the old mans promise and quietly went to the gate and opened it and there he was waiting for me . He looked quite happy when he saw me.

I quickly handed him the box and said I full filled my promise and now he can leave me alone .

He smiled at me and said my child this is no ordinary box .
