Chapter 127

A storm was brewing in New York as Sentry, dressed in a black tuxedo and a top hat, walked under a huge tree on a hill. The hill overlooked a huge Tombstone with all the names of the deceased Teen Titian with Batman silently standing in front of it. Beside him was Raven, donned in her normal costume.

"You won't go over to say hi?" Sentry asked Raven, staring at Batman. "Wasn't asking the Justice League for help your plan?"

"They won't help me. Just like they didn't care to help me stop my father, Trigon." Raven said in a monotonous voice. "Bringing my fallen friends to Justice is up to me."

"Do you really think you can take him down with your ability? Like I said, even the Justice League wasn't able to defeat him in the future. Impulse isn't your run-in-the-mill villain." Sentry's voice was enough for Raven to start doubting her ability to take down Impulse, but she shrugged it off, turning around to walk away.

"I will find my way." She mumbled, totally set on taking down Impulse.

Sentry looked at the young girl walking away, the wind from the incoming storm blowing her cloak to her right. He turned back to the Tombstone of the Titian, noticing Batman staring back at him. Smiling, he performed a small bow with his top hat before turning to follow Raven.

Raven flew past the river, heading to mainland New York when she noticed Sentry following her. "Why are you following me?" She asked, finding Sentry suspicious. First, he saved her, now he is following her around. This isn't something a normal person would do.

"I have taken an interest in you." Sentry said, moving to fly beside her.

Raven didn't like him. He gives her the same feeling as Brother Blood. A manipulative man capable of controlling his emotion to the point she couldn't sense anything. His claims of being from the future might as well be a lie to get her on his side.

Clenching her fist, purple energy erupted from them, engulfing her as she teleported away from Sentry. She appeared in a dark alleyway in New York City, looking around. "I should have lost him."

"No, you didn't." Sentry's voice came from behind her, causing her to jump away in shock.

"You!..." She quickly calmed down, controlling her breathing. Turning back to the smiling man, she said in a stern voice. "Stop following me."

"I am sorry, but I can't do that." The answer would be the same even if impulse didn't send him on the mission to get close to her, and that's because he has taken an interest in the entity in her. "As I said, I have taken an interest in you."

"There is no need to repeat yourself. I ignored you just fine the first time." Raven said, glaring at Sentry. "What do you want?"

"We both have the same goal. Taking down Impulse. We can help each other. I was planning on bringing together a team of Magicians either way." Sentry said, noticing the confusion flash over Ravin's face hiding behind the shadow of her hood. "Everything has a weakness, even Gods. Impulse weakness is magic."

"I don't need anyone's help. Leave me." Raven commanded, turning and walking out the dark alleyway and into the busy sidewalk, with people moving about briskly to get away from the incoming storm.

Sentry let out a low sigh, looking at the dark clouds covering New York city. 'These clouds aren't normal. They don't seem like naturally formed clouds, maybe the work of a metahuman. Paying it no mind, Sentry proceeded to follow after Raven, who was already far ahead.

"Do you have a place to stay for protection against the incoming storm?" He asked, looking down at the cloaked teenager beside him. "If you don't, I can rent a two-bedroom hotel for us."

"After I stop the metahuman that's bringing about this storm, they will be no need for a hotel." She said in a matter of factly manner.

With that, purple energy engulfed her as she transformed into a Raven, shooting towards a skyscraper where the storm seems to be gathering around. Sentry followed after her, and they soon reached the roof of the skyscraper. There a blue-haired man stood, waving a staff around.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the heroes." The man said, looking over to Raven and Sentry, who landed some meters away from him. "Isn't the weather nice today?"

"The forecast didn't say anything about a storm, and it will stay that way." Raven grimly said, strolling towards the man.

"Today, you will face the wrath of Weather Wizard. This is true light!!" Pointing his staff at Raven, a pillar of pure lightning struck down on Raven, hitting her point-blank. Weather Wizard laughed maniacally, "Well! That was easy! Now is your-"

His words caught in his throat as Raven casually strolled out of the pillar of Lightning, purple energy protecting her. Snarling with pure rage, Raven's eyes glowed red rather than the usual white when she uses her powers. She grows to an impossible height, at least three times as tall as Weather Wizard, and thick black tendrils shoot toward him from under her cloak.

"What the fuck!?" He cries out in shock, fearfully, backing up. The tendrils caught his legs and started pulling him under Raven's cloak. He tried to use his staff, but it was slapped away by another of the tendrils. "My staff! What are you--? No, stop, you win, I surrender! Take me to jail." It was too late. He is dragged toward the billowing blue hem as Raven smiles viciously down at him.

"What's the matter? Afraid of the dark?" She asked, her voice being the combination of a demonic male voice and hers.

"Wait! Are you going to kill me--? I surrender! NOOOOOO!!" He let out one last scream before being pulled under Ravin's cloak.

"Calm down, Raven. Don't take out your anger on this man. If you kill, there is no turning back." Sentry said, his calm voice penetrating her mind.

Raven's eyes return to normal in a snap. She gasps sharply and shrinks back to normal size; her cloak recedes to reveal Weather Wizard, curled up in a fetal position on the pavement and shivering in fear.

"It was...no...so dark...make it stop...make it stop..." He mumbled, holding his head as he started chanting unknown words under his breath.

"Well, he is scarred for life." Sentry said, squatting beside Weather Wizard. He could easily remove the traumatic event from his mind, but he isn't a good samaritan. He closed the man's eyes while simultaneously using telekinesis to crush his heart, killing him. 'That would put him out of his misery.'

"Next time, he would think twice before causing trouble." Raven spat, not caring about the damage she caused to the man. Purple energy surrounded her as she teleported away.

Sentry looked at the spot Raven was once standing before using his telekinesis to bring Weather Wizard staff to his hand. Gripping on to it, he disappeared, just before Flash appeared in the rook to see a traumatized Weather Wizard.

Impulse sat on a red sofa beside a fireplace, reading a hardcover book with the title, [Summoning a Demon]. He had on red striped pajamas with fur slippers. On the circular rug in front of the fireplace, C-3 slept hugging her doll tightly. She had on matching pajamas as her father with a peaceful smile on her face.

Suddenly, Sentry appeared beside Impulse, still in his black tuxedo and holding the Weather Staff. "My mission to get close to Raven is going well... So far. For it to work, I will be putting together a team of talented Magician to come after you." He said in a low voice, not trying to wake the sleeping C-3.

"Good to hear." Impulse mumbled, flipping through the book. "Keep me updated on this team you are putting together." He plans to eat the entire team of magicians to see if he gains magic. He doubts it, but still worth the try.

"I also found an interesting tool that would be of use to you." Sentry said, leaning the staff on Impulse's sofa. He would have taken the staff for himself but saw no true need for the staff's ability to control the weather. "I will be on my way." With that, he disappeared.

The room was silent, with only the crackling of firewood in the fireplace and Impulse slowly flipping through each page of the book he was reading. After a while, he flipped to the last page, reading it before closing the book. Looking down at the book, he mumbled,

"What an interesting book. The last owners of this mansion sure had some weird taste. It looked like they were part of a demonic cult."
