56 Chapter 38: The Wilting PAPER (Part-1)
" Nagato and Konan has betrayed our trust and has defected, Nagato used his lifespan to revive the hidden leaf and to protect the Nine-tails Jinchuriki. Sanemi, I want you to kill Konan and retrieve the Rinnegan for me " Madara said as he glared at Sanemi.
"Why do we need to Rinnegan anyways didn't we just have to seal all the tailed beasts? I am pretty sure I can take on the Nine-tails alone " Sanemi asked.
"We need the power of the Rinnegan, I am going to declare war on all the shinobi nations, to capture the real eight-tails and nine-tails, but before that, I need the power of the Rinnegan to make sure everything goes on the right path. " Madara answered.
"Alright then I will be retrieving the Rinnegan, and kill Konan, but if I feel like you are using me be prepared to die as well, " Sanemi said and then disappeared into the shadows.
"Zetsu follow him and then update me regarding the battle, " Madara said and then disappeared in a swirl.
'It seems that I will be the one taking the Rinnegan. I guess I will do little gambling before. System roll all of the pending ones. ' Sanemi thought as he navigated through the forest.

"So it is going to be you...Sanemi " Konan stated as she appeared in a burst of paper.
"Indeed, we can avoid this conflict, if you simply let me get the Rinnegan, or help me find it, " Sanemi said and then pulled out Murakumogiri.
"Yahiko's and Nagato's bodies have been buried there is no need to disturb the dead " Konan stated her eyes sharp and glaring at Sanemi.
"That would be true if we were not living in this unfair world, sadly I will have to disturb the sleeping, now move, " Sanemi said pointing the Bisento towards Konan.
"What you are doing will essentially destroy the world, I will not let have the Rinnegan. " Konan stated. While she may know Sanemi for quite a while, she knew Nagato and Yahiko before him, she has seen them sacrifice themselves for her, how could she abandon those people for someone she knew for less than 4 years.
"Very well then there is no more need for this talk! " Sanemi said and then rushed towards Konan with Murakumogiri in his hands.
"Dance of the shikigami: Shuriken! " Konan yelled as her hands turned into paper shurikens and rushed towards Sanemi.

Sanemi created a shield around him using the Geo Vision and the shurikens deflected off from it.
Sanemi skillfully twirled his bisento and slashed towards Konan.
"Dance of the Shikigami: Angel " Konan used paper and her back and grew wings, and then floated on top to avoid the slash.
[ Cursed Winds ]
Sanemi slashed the Bisento towards Konan and an air slash, made from combining Cursed energy approached her.
"Aaah " Konan moaned in pain as she started to bleed and fell on the same platform she confronted Sanemi a few seconds ago.
"As I said you stand no chance, give up and get me the Rinnegan. " Sanemi stated as he twirled Murakumogiri and then pointed it towards Konan who was now breathing heavily and was profusely bleeding.
"I will not let you bring death and destruction to this world! Dance of the Shikigami! Explosive Funeral! " Konan yelled as the river they were fighting on started to break apart in two from where Sanemi was standing.
"This is..." Sanemi thought as he and his straw descended down in the hole and the water around him turned into paper bombs.
A large explosion that Deidara would have been proud of occurred as a large sinkhole was created in the river near Amegakure.
"Huff..huff...huff. At least one is down...If Madara had joined him, I would have lost without a fight. " Konan muttered. She had planned this trap specifically Madara but since Sanemi has joined that man it didn't matter who died from it.

After a few days of recovering from the fight, Konan went to where she hid Yahiko's and Nagato's bodies to give them her respects and a proper burial.
'No time, after this I need to find a way to deal with Madara as well' Konan thought as she opened the coffins containing the bodies of Yahiko and Nagato.
"Creek...Creek..Creek"
"What?" Konan yelled with wide eyes as the Air started to crack in front of her.
The cracks kept on increasing and increasing and were now present everywhere around her.
"What is happening here!?! " Konan yelled in confusion and wariness.
Suddenly the cracks stopped and a voice came from the direction of the place where the cracks started.
"So that is where you were hiding the bodies, it is quite a beautiful place, I must admit? " Sanemi's voice came, and like a delicate glass Konan's surroundings shattered.
"What...di- " Konan asked in pure confusion on the call of the events.
"Genjutsu..." Konan muttered answering her own questions.
"That would be correct, and you won mercy! Sadly we ran out of it" Sanemi said as he pointed Enma towards Konan.
