Dungeon

"So, how many floors are there to this dungeon so far and how can I upgrade it? Also what are those trees?"

[The trees are a creature called a dead forest guardian, that guard you and your domain. The dungeon currently has 2 floors, the first floor and your room.]

[Would you like to see the dungeon status?]

"Yes"

[Dungeon-Unnamed]

[Inner Defense=200]

[Floors-2-test of fear]

[Saferoom-1-entrance]

[outer shell defenses-100%]

[Can be upgraded with xp]

[Any that die within except user and slaves give you xp]

Seeing the stats, Malorn is slightly disappointed as only 2 floors and the outside as defenses kind of sucks until he thought of 1 of his skills. Looking quickly at the skill, Aura of Resurrection, he realizes just what kind of pain in the ass any invaders get to deal with. Unless they vaporize or dismember any corpses, they'll get to deal with endless undead.

Malorn also quickly figured out a benefit as the Dungeon Master, he instinctively can view any floor and the outside shell whenever he wants, and know what they do. The Test of Fear floor for instance could be considered quite terrifying. As one would walk into it, they will meet a creature of whatever they fear most, no matter how stupid, but it's only temporary and cannot be resurrected. They have to fight this fear and win against it. But what makes this truly horrible, as they fear more, those stronger it becomes. Those who fail, will live but will be imbued with the Aura of Misfortune that takes effect instantly.

A truly horrid test for those who invade his home. But that's not all he can use. Looking at the possibilities he has, wants to make this a truly horrible experience for those who invade a worthwhile xp farm.

"Can I add a floor to this place as an extra buffer? Also name the dungeon as The Place of Death."

[Name has been changed, floor cost 5000xp]

Malorn accepts the cost and starts creating a new floor. As he gets into it, he stops paying attention to what is going on around him. The new floor, Test of Dodge, makes one have to continuously dodge obstacles. The floor itself is a hodge-podge of random traps in a series of long hallways that even have forks in it. Some hallways have rolling boulders for 1 to outrun, another has dart traps being fired down the hallway in waves. Even teleporter traps with a 1 second delay that stick you in a room full of undead by yourself. However those rooms in particular have small rewards such as daggers that poison whatever is cut and amulets that enable you to raise a zombie of your own.

Outside the dungeon, outside the walls among the black soil that slowly spreads outward one can find headstones slowly appear, as well as some raised dirt that moves all over. Sometimes the raised moving mound disappears for a moment then raises again. The worm, that Malorn once feared is now a faithful guardian. From time to time you can also find a ghostly dog that shows up near the edge howling in the direction of people it senses then running away back into the land. What Malorn doesn't realize is that his xp has been growing, as the dog and worm slowly lure stupid people and those who are curious into the land then kill them. The tombstones that appear are the marker for each death in that land of the dead.

*********

Danse, the officer from before is now moving towards the now dungeon. However he has been changed, you can see black veins on his neck and to his eyes from around his heart. His eyes themselves are now glowing with a hint of red as he ponders what he was told by The Reaper. The information he was told is perhaps more terrifying than he thought he knew.

The Shadowhearts as it turns out are primarily not even from earth, they're some sort of alien demigods. And the reason the abilities appeared is due to them releasing an underlying virus that is undetectable by human standards. Even worse, the time period he thought he knew is wrong. The true year now is year 5712. It's not anywhere near the 2000s, as they along with a few other families have corrupted this world's sense of time. The Reaper himself is apparently a god of decay with some control of time.

He's been released after his transformation into a living dead to discover why this dungeon formed ahead of time. The plan as he heard it, was for the earth to slowly be corrupted for harvesting the divinity from the earth itself. All worlds hold divinity, except one cannot siphon it unless the world dies or is corrupted. And the best way to corrupt a world is through dungeons. However while there are evil gods there are also good gods, who drives those who truly know to defeat dungeons and purify the earth, hoping for the earth to create it's own gods.
