Chapter 2

At the age of 24, Chase had become a very popular sportsman. He played soccer and also was an athlete.

He went to a club on the day of his mother's memorial with his friend, Kevin, he couldn't bear what he was feeling inside. The hatred he had for his father and Sophie waxed stronger.

Kevin felt pity for him seeing how drunk he was. Alice Parker who was also there to clear her head had gotten drunk because she was drugged. She walked into a room without knowing someone was inside. Chase had seen her and followed her upstairs.

An almost naked guy stood facing Alice. "Nice! They sent a good looking girl" Alice immediately realized where she was, she tried to run away but the guy held her.

"Let me go" she said without strength in her. Chase entered the room. He fought with the guy and the guy eventually left the room. The drug was already taking full effect on Alice. She didn't realize what she was doing when she held Chase by his belt buckle.

"What are you doing?" he removed her hands.

Alice drew closer and kissed him. Chase who tried resisting, couldn't help it any longer and kissed her back.

The make-out session ended up turning into something heated.

Chase left early the next day before Alice woke up. Kevin laughed out on hearing what happened. He had wondered where Chase had gone to and couldn't reach him through his phone either.

"I'm serious here, I don't even know who she is" Chase complained.

Kevin chuckled. "It's you first time getting laid and you don't know who you lost your first to, I get it."

"You are useless."

Kevin stared at his friend in wonder. "I don't know how to help you. Did you at least use protection?"

Chase, "..."

"Seriously, dude"

Chase sighed.

"If you both are destined to meet, maybe you will" Kevin advised. "Use your resources to look for, maybe you would find something".

Chase spoke, " I asked my butler to do that".

"Let's wait for the results then" Kevin said.

Chase worry was she could get pregnant, he needed to take responsibility for the child. Although he was not ready to fall in love, if there was a child, he had to be responsible for it.

He wondered who the lady was.

Five years later, Chase's company was having an event. His Secretary, Lee advised to event Alice Parker to sing at the event.

Secretary Lee walked into Chase's office. "Sir, majority of our partners for the event would are happy with the choice of Alice Parker."

"But... " Chase looked up from his computer.

"They would like to see you do something yourself" Secretary Lee completed.

"And if I don't?" Chase asked.

He stared icily at his secretary. "Permit me to say this sir... " Secretary Lee shuddered. "Maybe you could do a duet with Ms. Parker"

Chase paused for a moment, "I'm not doing that".

"Okay, sir" Secretary Lee bowed then left the office. Chase sighed and continued his work.

He got home earlier than usual which surprised his butler. His butler had become his father after he left his home.

"You are back early" Butler Lu said.

"Yes. Butler Lu is it alright for me to sing a duet at the event next week?"Chase asked.

Butler Lu gave his reply, "It is up to you, if you think it is right then go for it. Anyways the society knows you as a multi-talented person".

Chase nodded. "I will go shower now". He went up to his room. He showered and went back down for dinner.

On the day of the event, a small boy who looked like a four or five year old ran past Chase to meet his mother. Chase who did not notice the boy turned to his secretary who had seen him.

"Did boss have a child he is not aware of?" his secretary wondered.

Chase said, "Inform the M.C that I'll be doing the duet". He walked inside leaving a surprised Lee behind.

Towards the end of the event, the M.C appreciated everyone present. " Thank you all for coming. It has been a wonderful night with you guys. And before you guys leave, we have a special guests here with us tonight, Alice Parker".

The guests seated applauded as Alice stepped on stage. "It is an honor to be here. I will like to sing a song sung by someone who left this world years ago, Anderson" she paused and looked around. "Many might remember her while others may not. Her commitment to people reminded me of things while I was down a few years ago and I will like to sing Perfect Harmony to honor that" she concluded.
