1 Partners in Crime

Natsu's POV

"Put the money in the bag!" I shouted aiming my gun at the store owner. He jumped up in fear and quickly opened the cash register pouring all the money into the bag. This is a bit to easy for my taste....I thought to myself. I grabbed a glass bottle and threw it at the glass window of the store causing the alarm to go off. It didn't take long for the cops to show up, I grabbed the bag of money from the store owner and ran out the back Exit of the building.

Right when I ran out the building, a car pulled up in front of me. The door opened and I got in, "Idiot! You just had to go and set off the alarm!" my blond haired partner, Lucy, shouted at me as she drove through an alley. I shrugged my shoulders "I was just trying to make the chase more exciting." she rolled her eyes at me and the car suddenly came to a stop. In front of us were two police cars, I buckled my seat belt and got ready for the excitement. "Hang on Natsu." Lucy stated with a smirk as she adjusted the mirror.

The car started backing up and stopped, then Lucy took off making the car drive at full speed. It flew over the police cars and hit the street with a thud, leaving the cops with shocked expressions.

"How much was in that little store?" Lucy asked as she took off her jacket and boots. "Let's see." I poured the money that was in the bag onto a table and started counting. "About 280...." I replied once I finished counting. "That's not to bad, that store wasn't very popular anyways." I watched as Lucy walked over to our mini fridge and took out some beer "You want some?" she asked, I nodded in response.

Lucy and Me have been partners for a long time, about 15 years now. We steal for a living, when me and her were kids we were poor. So we thought stealing things was the only way to survive, I used to see her as a best friend and at one point she was my crush but now I see her as a partner and only a partner, nothing more.

From this day forward we'll only see each other as partners, nothing more. If one of us gets hurt the other one runs away and doesn't look back.

That's the oath we made to each other 15 years ago. We figured if we were to get to attached and end up falling in love, it could affect our work.

"Earth to Natsu!" I snapped out of my thoughts and realized Lucy was standing in front of me, holding two glasses of beer. "Did you say something?" I asked, grabbing my glass. She sat on the counter and crossed her legs "I wanted to know what we'll be doing next." she replied. "Well if a client calls and gives us a job request, and if it pays good we can do that." she looked at me with a pout and sighed "I'm letting you know right now, if it's a job from Gajeel Redfox. I'm not taking it, he's so annoying." she stated.

I laughed, last time we went to see Gajeel for a job he called Lucy a cheerleader and a bunny girl, now she hates him. It would take a miracle for them to get along.

That night I woke up to find Lucy sleeping next to me. By now I'm used to this, when we were kids we would always stay at each other's house and sleep together. Even though we made a oath, but deep down I still see her as someone I care about. I played with her hair and ran my fingers through it, her hair used to be short now it's so long.

I jumped up at the sound of our door opening "Natsu! Lucy! Show yourselves you bastards!" I got up quickly but quietly I know that voice...."Luce wake up." I whispered tapping her on the shoulder, she opened her big brown eyes and she sent me a confused and tired expression. But the constant banging and shouting coming from outside our room answered her questions, she got up and grabbed her gun. I grabbed mine as well.
