The woman walked into the room, her fiery eyes fixed on a confused Luna. She paused, if only for a brief second in front of her. And then, without a word, the maid grabbed the empty utensils and walked out. It took a few seconds for the goddess to register what had happened. 

They barely had any exchange of words since the previous afternoon, pleasant or otherwise. The last she had seen the old lady was when Caliban shooed her away with the young, traumatized one. She was sure that the lady would want nothing to do with her. But she knew better than to let the woman go like that. 

The Dam Sehlah was right. Extracting the magic out of the shard was the best possible way to stall for time. And after what happened, if she were to get to the young Lord's room and carry out the plan, then she would need the old woman's help, she thought to herself.
