Elize pushed her great-grandmother away with unease, pressing her lips tightly. The woman let go of her with a laugh, shaking her head as she made her way back to the small kitchen island in front of her. The little girl followed her movements with curious eyes, trying to pick out what seemed to be out of place. 

Anna resumed her work, pouring in a bowl full of little chocolate chips into the batter. The air was filled with the mouth-watering smell of the delicacy. And right on cue, Aileen snapped her hands, swinging open the metal door of the oven. A tray magically flew out from it with a batch of sizzling hot cookies. And as she watched, it made a slow landing on the kitchen Island, quickly cooling down with a soft hiss.
