The alpha turned away from her, a wall snapping up between the two of them quickly. She couldn't feel his emotions anymore. Inside her mind was a silence that pulled her towards her own sorrow. As she sat there staring at his back, Elize felt miserable. Her body ached, and her throat felt sore. Her heart was cold, and her mind was numb. She heard shouts from somewhere outside the building. But she didn't care anymore. If they were coming to kill her, then let them, she thought, her head hanging low in defeat.
