177 Chapter 177: The cave

The room was filled with fear, dripping off of the demon. Three pairs of heartbeats sounded loud and clear in the place as time slowed down. Elize could hear the children whimper behind her. Strange flashes of memory kept playing in her head. As the evil-filled vacuum that was the demon drew close, a wild thought occurred to her. Her blood!

Though she was already bleeding from the several splinters on her body, she knew that it was not enough- not if she wanted to draw its attention fully onto her. Her claws elongated quickly, and on an impulse, she slashed her wrist. She winced in pain, biting her lips from screaming out. 

"Here, take my blood!" Elize screamed, raising her hands protectively over the children.
